How many coats do we think she has?

I agree Laiste, I think Kate always looks polished and poised and always has a smile on her face, come rain or shine.
I know people might say it's not difficult, but I wouldn't want that life.
It's all I can do not to leave the house with toothpaste marks down my front!Grin

Apassingglance · 24/10/2020 10:27

I agree. I'm one of those conflicted people who tends towards republicanism but enjoys looking at their frocks Grin and I think she's doing a really good job.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/10/2020 18:32

Kate's only been a royal for the last 9 years so I guess case of building up her official/professional royal wardrobe.
She may also be thinking towards the future especially when she is Queen.
Have many timeless outfits in different colours to bring out in years to come.

Maireas · 24/10/2020 18:54

When Princess Anne got married in 1973, she ordered a lot of clothes with a view to professional royal life. She still wears many of them, so they were a good investment!

Plus you have the amazing Angela Kelly & Stewart Parvin (just finished AK's first book) who make outfits for the Queen (How I would love to see the royal fabric stores)
Well that's if HMQ lends Angela & Stewart out to the rest of the family Grin
(though Stewart did make Zara's wedding dress & both Stewart & Angela remodelled & fitted Bea's wedding dress)

Hello everyone - I'm so glad I found this thread.
I quite like Kate's red coat actually; I also had one in the 90s that was black and slightly sparkly from oasis and I thought I was just the bees knees.

It's those black pointy shoes that I can't get my head around- they're sooooo pointy at the front and yet, sooooo clumpy at the back!? Don't know what to make of them.

Laiste · 25/10/2020 09:39

Is it really only 9 years!?

Yes i think when you know you're going to be Queen of England one day you are going to worry more about looking decent than looking fashionable. There are a few unfortunate snaps of Kate in existence but not many considering how famous she is and how intrusive the paps are/were.

How amazing that there aren't any dodgy pics of HM! That's quite some feat. A lifetime of dressing carefully.

AppleKatie · 25/10/2020 11:09

HM grew up in the fold though so she was looked after by the firm from the get go. Photos were not ten a penny in her teen years either.

You’re right one or two dodgy pictures of Kate at a charity fashion show is amazing when you think about it.

Bridge opening in Stockholm today, so CPV was out with KCG and Estelle. Camel coats galore! That's a lot of camel! I took a screenshot from the live footage of the event on the Swedish newspaper DN.

Nice to see Estelle involved. Not sure about CPV's trousers, probably slim fit looks better under a coat like that.

Laiste · 25/10/2020 16:06

That is a lot of camel!

Gooseysgirl · 25/10/2020 17:34

Given her difficulties with morning sickness in each pregnancy, I would be amazed if KM goes again for no.4. I strongly suspect they have completed their family!

latedecember1963 · 25/10/2020 18:53

Victoria's camel coat looks like it will be nice and warm while looking smart.
I think what makes it look a bit bland to me is that her jumper and trousers are a similar beige colour. I think black or navy trousers and a contrasting colour jumper would have lifted it a bit.

StartupRepair · 25/10/2020 19:38

Yes, like how Estelle has mixed black with camel.

Horsemad · 25/10/2020 20:04

I agree. CPV's outfit looks a bit 'samey' - no contrast.

banivani · 25/10/2020 21:33

Monochrome outfits are on-trend though and she’s been wearing a good few of them lately. All pink or all blue for example. I find this inoffensively classy iyswim. The coat is Max Mara and a rewear, speaking of coats. It was cute that Estelle wore the same but not completely! Bit surprised at black accessories for a child, I would have thought that would still be a bit unusual/frowned upon. It used to be not the done thing at all for children to wear black.

AngelaScandal · 25/10/2020 22:12

LOT of Camel there Swedish royals 🐫

MotherofPearl · 26/10/2020 20:52

Cams has been at an arboretum today and channeling aspects of the DoC's Scoutfit. But I cannot get on board with these boots. They are just dreadful. Come back the black suede boots, all is forgiven!

I've seen a lot of people with these boots recently. They're obviously very practical, but very ugly!

OP posts:
AppleKatie · 26/10/2020 22:58

🤯😱those boots are vile.

Radiatornoise · 26/10/2020 23:16

Are they Dubarry boots? Very trendy 6 years ago.

megletthesecond · 26/10/2020 23:20

Camilla doesn't care. Her feet must be toasty warm in them.

Horsemad · 27/10/2020 06:26

I've got similar boots, (mine are Dublins though - cheap!) they're very practical and warm but not a fashion item, except in horsey circles! 😂

Eaumyword · 27/10/2020 06:36

Love Cam's soft green cords. She's definitely not dressed for fashion, just for comfort, but I do respect her for that.
Dubarry's are incredibly comfy once broken in and I know she suffers from osteoporosis, as do I a little now. I used to love heels but the big toe pain is too much, so comfy boots it is!

AppleKatie · 27/10/2020 08:28

I’d like to rephrase my comment from last night, I too applaud Cam for dressing for comfort not fashion and I would if in her position totally do the same.

That said I couldn’t be comfortable in those shoes because they are so ugly! Bring back the trusty black suede.
