Most stylish parka you've seen?

I can't find the right parka despite seemingly endless searching. I want something simple, with clean lines (no fur, or detachable fur), not too bulky but warm enough for winter. Water proof or water resistant.

These are examples of ones I like:
www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-winter-parka-khaki/p5099119 (sold out in my size Sad)

And

www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+coats+and+jackets/c0pcf/cotton+parka.htm?clr=C0PCF_OliveGrove_sw (dry clean only and super pricey)

Budget up to around 300... please help!

Quite like this too but it has fur :(

Open to other colours btw, but best ones seem to be green so far...

Barbour and Parka London always have good options. I think they often have faux fur trims, but usually removable, like this one: www.barbour.com/uk/barbour-mirabelle-waterproof-jacket

notanotherlasagne · 06/10/2020 19:57

Sweaty Betty have a beautiful one.

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 20:06

@Sasuma I like that Barbour one! Thank you, I'd never seen it before.

Is this the Sweaty Betty one? Love it but think no padding for winter?

Ah and reviews say not waterproof sadly Sad

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 20:08

Sorry that was referencing Sweaty Betty!

Which Didricksons would you recommend @PamDemic? I can never seem to find ones that don't look extremely unflattering...

Protected Species. Beautiful and waterproof Smile

Another fan of Didricksons. Mine is on its 3rd season , not sure which one it is but a bit like the current Lindsay.
It’s so cosy.
But I really like this Thelma.

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 20:21

That's nice @Boopear! It's sold out in my size (12) though in both colours Sad

Says black coming end October so perhaps I'll wait for that... would love green though. It's very plain but I can see it's cut nicely.

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 20:24

Thanks @Dreamersandwishers! Like the look of Thelma although maybe a little thin for my needs... will check out the Lindsay, I do want something long lasting.

@greenemerald I'd seen that one - it's lovely! But is it warm at all?

Uniqlo blocktech parka?

CatherineTheNotSoGreat · 06/10/2020 20:32

I have a Didrikson. I don’t particularly like it on me but in foul weather it is the dog’s bolleaux. I have never had such a windproof and waterproof parka. Mine is about 6 years old, it’s still good - just have a bit of fading on the cuffs. I can’t remember the name of mine, it’s similar to the one linked above, but navy with a fur trim on the hood. Thelma sounds familiar, or Tilly???

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 20:57

@MikeUniformMike I like that but sold out in colour I want! Should have gone for it earlier...

@CatherineTheNotSoGreat I am very tempted by a Didricksons! Am looking at this one... www.didriksons.com/en/women/jackets/parkas/cajsa-women-s-parka-2-503504-447

I’ve just bought this and I love it. Super warm, insulated, waterproof. Great price too.

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 21:25

That really nice @mnahmnah - can I ask how you found the sizing? True to size or need to size up for layers would you say?

Thanks everyone - I have options now Smile

I am a 12-14 and bought the 14, like all my coats. It’s snug over my normal clothes. I wouldn’t fit a jumper under.

mnahmnah · 06/10/2020 21:29

Just noticed that colour is only available in size 22 and 24, but it’s got more sizes in the two other shades of green

KateCantab · 06/10/2020 22:40

I recently bought the Uniqlo hybrid down coat. It is quite long, with a good sized hood and has an inner drawstring so you can add a bit of shape if wanted. I chose it because it’s super warm, rain proof and has no fur trim. It was £110.

I have this. Having searched literally the entire world this is the only one I could even begin to consider wearing. I hate coats more than anything and this is about the only one which doesn’t make me feel 100% frump and it’s lovely and warm too

Endlesscoathunt · 06/10/2020 23:06

Ooh looks good @Sophoa - which colour do you have? Not sure if brown would be too drab or nice... or trusty green again.

MiaFarrowsWheelbarrow · 06/10/2020 23:21

I have this, bought it last year and it still looks as good as new, just started wearing it again last week and lots of compliments, 100% water proof but cosy and breathable. Expensive but a good investment in my view.

@Endlesscoathunt I have it in the green and it’s really nice
