Most stylish parka you've seen?

I can't find the right parka despite seemingly endless searching. I want something simple, with clean lines (no fur, or detachable fur), not too bulky but warm enough for winter. Water proof or water resistant.

These are examples of ones I like:
www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-partners-winter-parka-khaki/p5099119 (sold out in my size Sad)

And

www.toa.st/uk/product/womens+coats+and+jackets/c0pcf/cotton+parka.htm?clr=C0PCF_OliveGrove_sw (dry clean only and super pricey)

Budget up to around 300... please help!

I love my Rains weatherproof coat and wear it over a Uniqlo down gilet if it's cold. Only coat I've had that's kept me truly dry!

Thanks Emma

Does anyone know how true to size the Tog parkas are?

AnotherEmma · 27/11/2020 21:28

@MarthasGinYard
It's hard to say but I think Tog24 are pretty true to size. Other brands I'd tried did come up small/tight on me so I sized up, but I think that's me and not the sizing Grin
From Tog24 I tried the Nawton which was fitted but not tight, and the Alderidge (the one I've kept) which is a slightly looser, more generous fit. I could possibly size back down (ie to my true size) but don't want it to be tight around bum/hips which is my big problem Blush But I think most people would be fine!

MarthasGinYard · 27/11/2020 21:33

Perfect I've ordered 3 Blush

Hopefully one will fit and with the 15 percent off thank you Smile

MarthasGinYard · 27/11/2020 21:34

Milatek Alderidge and furbeck

Othering · 27/11/2020 21:47

This one from Zara looks interesting.

I've given in and ordered the Tog24 Alderidge one as well, bargain price with the code! I was debating between the Alderidge and Radial for the same price but the Radial has elasticated bits on the sides which might not be as flattering. Also have a North Face Suzanne on the way too so hopefully one of these fits well.

AnotherEmma · 27/11/2020 22:53

Darn it Tog24 should be paying me commission Grin

MarthasGinYard · 28/11/2020 10:46

You'd have made a fortune Grin

How did you all get on with your Tog24 parkas?!
Someone admired mine and ordered one as well, so I really am owed commission Grin She got aubergine and I love the colour on her.

LightOfAThousandStars · 13/12/2020 17:38

@AnotherEmma I got the Aubergine too and it's a really beautiful colour. Fits well on my hourglass shape and isn't too long that it looks frumpy. Material feels comfortable as well. Great find, thanks again for sharing and you deserve the commission Grin

AnotherEmma · 13/12/2020 18:44

Ah glad you're happy with it! Smile

LightOfAThousandStars · 13/12/2020 19:03

It's not been easy to find something thay fits well and isn't bulky! I wish it didn't have the velcro at the front but it's not so bad when done up.

AnotherEmma · 13/12/2020 19:39

Agree on both counts.

Outwithreason · 14/12/2020 09:02

I had to send mine back as my usual size was too big unfortunately. I absolutely adored the aubergine colour but I decided not to reorder a size down as it was far too warm for walking for me. I have ordered a thinner Regatta jacket from Debenham that I can layer as required.

LightOfAThousandStars · 14/12/2020 18:16

@Outwithreason that's a shame it didn't work out for you. I really feel the cold myself and it's perfect for chilly morning school runs. Which Regatta one did you buy?

AnotherEmma · 14/12/2020 18:48

Outwithreason
Sorry it wasn't right for you but glad you've found one you're happy with 👍

Outwithreason · 14/12/2020 21:56

I have ordered the Regatta Celinda in navy - £45 from Debenhams - and will report back when it arrives. I would have kept the Tog24 if I felt the cold, as it seemed very well made.

AnotherEmma · 14/12/2020 22:12

I find it about right, warm without being too bulky or sweaty.

LightOfAThousandStars · 15/12/2020 21:33

Thanks @Outwithreason, hope it's the one when it arrives Smile
