@ememem84, I’m all for making an effort even if it is just for you. I’ve used lockdown as a chance to be a bit more adventurous make up wise and try different things, just for fun.

Pic of this week’s empties attached. It was a chore to finish the This Works hand cream, as I wasn’t keen on the smell, and DH, who almost never comments on such things, actively disliked it. In contrast, the only criticism I have of the L’Occitane hand cream is that 25ml doesn’t last very long.

Loved the Christophe Robin shampoo so much I have repurchased full size. You only need to use a small amount at a time so it will last ages.

The brow pencil from Benefits is another item that gets almost daily use.

Finally, enjoyed the Noble Isle Tea Rose body cream which was another good F&M advent product.

@TheChosenTwo, I might put the Allies of Skin Vit C on my wish list, as I’m still trying to find the perfect Vit C product. Didn’t really rate the 111Skin bottle from my N-a-P calendar. I am currently using a Drunk Elephant product which is also quite sticky, but so far I definitely prefer.

TheChosenTwo · 13/02/2021 15:27

Maybe see if you can get hold of a small size, I don’t know if they sell them in the advent calendar size that mine came in, but if you don’t get on with it you might be sad about wasting £85!
I absolutely love it, tried it and at first didn’t think I was going to like it as it was sticky and gloopy but then I realised I probably didn’t need 2 full pumps, rubbed the product between my fingertips a little to loosen it up and then it spread over my face better and in a thinner layer. I can’t tell you how nicely everything feels after that’s gone on, everything is working like a dream over the top of it!

ememem84 · 14/02/2021 11:11

Two sachets gone

Indie Lee face wash - smelled yuk
Indie Lee eye serum - ok I suppose but not one id repurchase.

Crazybunnylady123 · 15/02/2021 13:58

Alien body lotion gone.
Body shop hand gel gone.
Working on a small benecos body lotion dp got me and picked out a new face mask to start using up this week! Trouble is I’m into the peel off masks at the moment and I have quite a few sheet masks still!

Experiment627 · 15/02/2021 14:11

Two empties to report:

  • Lidl Cien Q10 anti-wrinkle night cream: better than the day version but still meh
  • Darphin aromatic cleansing balm: smell evokes a childhood memory... think it is a but Dr Peppery... not great at getting make up off

Two empties

Dentinox cradle cap shampoo

Child’s farm raspberry bath bubbles

Both the kids but both taking up space in the bathroom.

I have just seen that Revolution Beauty have a haircare range!!! I think they are trying to dupe Olaplex!!! Have any of you lovely people tried it? Or Olaplex?

OP posts:
AprilLady · 15/02/2021 21:01

@Experiment627 , I use Olaplex No 3, and really rate it. But it is £££ for what it is. I use it about once a week and a 100ml bottle only seems to last about 5 weeks. Doesn’t seem very much, especially as my hair is not particularly long or thick. But I think my hair condition has improved a bit since I started using it. I’d love to find a cheaper alternative though!

Experiment627 · 15/02/2021 21:24

Thanks @AprilLady maybe I will give it a whirl

I have finished an Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème. Definitely NOT repurchasing! I honestly don’t even know why I kept using it, tbh. Probably because it was so expensive. Firstly, it stinks - like cheap, banana-flavoured ice-cream mixed with floor cleaner. Secondly, it stings. It doesn’t brighten, as promised, and I don’t think it has improved a damn thing. I’m really quite underwhelmed.

Caggie09 · 16/02/2021 08:25

I have Olaplex number 3 in stash at the moment, and i also really like it. Im quite stingy with it and only use it when i feel i want a treat for my hair or when its feeling abit... blurgh. I seen the Revolution version of it, and im going to buy it and see how it compares to the Olaplex one. Hopefully its in my Boots!

Caggie09 · 16/02/2021 08:46
  • A mixture of sachet cleansers, finally all gone! Nothing stood out to me.
  • The Hum gummies from Cult's GWP. Obviously i noticed no difference from them? They tasted fine. Not something od RP.
  • Optrex heating eye pads❤. Something ill carry in my kitbag for life now! The heat isnt too hot that you will get sweaty eyeballs. I usually fall asleep with these on as im so relaxed, you just pop the hoops around your ears and your good to go. If i knew what a fresh set of eyeballs felt like, id say it comes close to how these masks make my eyes feel!!
  • Frank body scrub. Too messy for me, good scrub though.
-Ouai body cream. Wasnt keen on the scent, didnt feel that moisturising.
  • Lush Yog Nog. Last Christmassy scent for me. A warm cosy shower when i use this. Keeping my bottle to trade in when the store opens up. 50p for each empty.
  • Sunday Riley Pink Drink. It's a hard one with this, as i dont know if its doing anything?! I enjoyed using it, but as the first step before everything, i dont feel its really needed! Its £45 and its lasted me just under 2 months, so even if it was a mind blowing product, to replace it every 2 months is costly! It has made me want to add an Essence into my routine though. I have a mini Fresh Kombucha waiting to use and the Cosrx Snail mucin. Completely different products, but im ready to give them ago!

White co shower gel finished. Have 4 more to go through.

ememem84 · 16/02/2021 20:07

Ooh and the body shop camomile cleansing balm. Loved this so much.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 17/02/2021 05:31

Rituals shower foam Chado gone. Back onto Happy Buddha.

TheChosenTwo · 17/02/2021 22:28

Well I’ve cracked and opened a new medik8 vitamin C, it’s a really light oil based formula that sinks in really quickly, first thoughts are that I’m pleasantly surprised. I have to be honest though, I have no idea what vitamin c is meant to do to your skin. Everything I have that’s a vitamin c product claims it will brighten your skin - as far as I can tell, I’m usually left with shine which is just product sitting on my face. It’s not actually changing the colour of my face or brightening my actual skin at all! I’ll see how I get on with it while waiting patiently ( Confused ) for Space NK to offer some kind of GWP so I can restock on the allies of skin one and a few other bits I’ve got in my basket.

Experiment627 · 18/02/2021 08:23

@justilou1 that does not sound good!!

@Caggie09 let us know how you get on with the Revolution stuff!
Haha! Sweaty eyeballs 🤣🤣🤣

I am not sure which one of you lovelies recommended the Tesco hand cream - I just cracked it open and already can tell this is a fab product! Thank you for the recommendation!

Experiment627 · 18/02/2021 08:42

@Caggie09 just a thought - I saw it on sale on the Revolution website - may work out way cheaper to get there?

AprilLady · 18/02/2021 12:51

@Pomegranatespompom, me too Blush. I didn’t get the Liberty advent, so really looking forward to trying the Venn all in one concentrate.

ememem84 · 18/02/2021 13:00

i had a look at liberty but absolutely do not need anything. . . .

Pomegranatespompom · 18/02/2021 13:06

@AprilLady fabulous! What colour bag did you get ?

Pomegranatespompom · 18/02/2021 13:07

Neither did I @ememem84 😳

AprilLady · 18/02/2021 13:23

@Pomegranatespompom, after some thought I went for the grey. It’s not as pretty as the others, but will go better with most of my wardrobe. Which did you get?

Hope you also bought some nice stuff. Based on the rave reviews on a previous advent thread, I bought the Votary super seed oil which I am looking forward to using.
