BTW, I suspect you can get the Trilogy product elsewhere on sale, btw, like Boots or something.

I'm not buying that bullshit, either. I will say that Vitamin C products "go off" if they are not stored properly. I have found that the best one ever (also the least irritating) is The Ordinary's L-Ascorbic Powder that you add to whatever serum you want. (Not retinol). It's micronised, it lasts forever, and a leeeetle goes a very long way. (I do suggest starting VERY small if you can get it, and working up. It comes with a scoop, and you only need about 1/4-1/2 a scoop to do your whole décolleté, neck and face.) It is very hard to get these days, but it's, very effective and it's CHEAP! Failing that, I also really, really love this product, which is very similar, but not so cheap. It is the same powder, and it comes suspended over a rosehip oil-based serum. It's lovely, but it's a booster product, and it's not intended to last long enough to go off. This thing comes in tiny, weeny bottles, and for this reason, I think it's over-priced. trilogyproducts.co.uk/products/vitamin-c-booster-treatment. If you can get the Ordinary Powder (or another micronised L-Ascorbic Acid Powder) do that, instead!

if i get bored with something i find another use for it. the hand cream i've recently finished i only did it by slathering it on my body. i've use face creams up on my feet before.

i did leave a mask on for a bit longer than i should have done the other day (40 minutes instead of 5 - my timer went off and i ignored it and continues watching rap on you tube). i was slightly worried my face might fall off but so far i still have a face.

@NoWayHosier

I'm in a huff as I'm trying to use everything up but my face isn't enjoying it at all! Crepey, tight. Eyelids like wrinkly mini scrotums.

I'm on the Look Fantastic website right now. I need someone to talk me down.

I've used things that don't agree with my face on my elbows or just slopped all over my shins (a particularly dry place for me). But if something is irritating you then its just time for you to say goodby and chuck it in the bin :)

Now. Step away from the checkout. :)

@CherryMargo

As for vitamin C serums, I’ve seen opposing views, for example:

The 3 Reasons Why Vitamin C Serums Are Bad For Your Skin

The Scientific Papers Supporting Vitamin C Serum's Skin Benefits are Flawed

How Vitamin C Serums Cause Acne in Healthy Skin

I am not a scientist, and cannot weigh in on this topic, but after reading Ms Ouriel’s articles I felt inclined to use up all of the vitamin C products from my stash, and not buy them again.

Honestly this all reads like a company trying to plug their own product/process and using the fact they don't use Vic C as a USP over their competitors. I've not studied biology for a long time but a lot of the first article does not make sense, maybe oxerdisation means something different in 'skin care' but nothing happens to your skin that is remotely like the rusting of metals.

That's not to say that Vitamin C won't ever irritate the skin, its an acid after all, but its no different to any of the other trendy products in that area!

I finished a Clarins body lotion which was a bit past it's prime but still quite nice. Moved onto a pina colada Body shop body butter and its gone off :( tbh must be 2 years old. On the plus side I am now completely MLM free in my remaining stash.

I'm kicking myself a bit about the body butter and the Clarins, they got pushed to the back for 'best' and now have been wasted or used sub par. I also threw out an ancient Astrel that had gone funny.

Next up is a huge Soap and Glory body polish, it's probably going to take the rest of the year to use up lol.

I've had a few items come in, mainly body washes, I'm going to do a little superdrug shop as I'm actually down to my last night cream and last cleanser! I've actually made so much progress since joining this thread around 2 years ago. The goal now is to not get back into the situation that I have so much stuff nice things get wasted.

I've just finished a bottle of Eucerin Gel Cream spf. It's brilliant as it doesn't irritate and dries matt. On the look out for a tinted one for summer but this is my current favourite. I have 2 more stashed after stocking up on Escentual 1/3 off

@endlesscraziness,
Hi, I’m sorry I didn’t see your posts about mega-sensitivity before. May I recommend the Curel range which is now at Boots? (Check out Nadine Baggot’s reviews on all the products to decide what would suit you.) I can attest to the balm. Unscented, effective, gentle, non-irritating. The foaming cleanser is the nicest I’ve ever had. It’s full of ceramides, and it’s like a hug for your face. Their moisturisers are a delight too. I think you’d like them. They are made for sensitized skin. (I have ordered their giant body lotion from iHerb) These products (apart from the jar moisturiser) are very inexpensive.

Prai neck cream finished, I do like but am going to try just using normal moisturiser on the neck and see if that is just as good.

This week’s empties.

I really love the Elemis cleanser, probably my favourite balm cleanser.

Don’t rate the Living Proof dry shampoo. Worked okay, but left my hair feeling straw like. I think there are much better leave in products than the Wonder Balm too, which is somewhat sticky.

Pai eye cream was fine but not exciting. EL ANR is a staple for me, and I still like using it.

Trish McEvoy gel eyeliner was a lovely find from a previous Liberty GWP. As it was aubergine rather than black, it worked well for me.

Wow! I use vitamin C AND retin A. I LOVE the results! Definitely do different things, of course, but the wrinkles and pores are better as a result of the Reston A, and the pigmentation’s almost gone since I’ve added vitamin c in the morning ( to also boost efficacy of sunscreen as well as mop up free radicals.) Have also added niacinamide am and pm and living that now too!

@AprilLady finding and reading those anti-vit C articles freaked me out, I'm not gonna lie, but I'm not sure how reliable that source is. Our skin will speak for itself anyway. If it benefits from vitamin C, then I see no reason why we should stop using it 😉 and if it gets worse, then it's a sign to stop.

@CherryMargo that is interesting, but I’m not convinced the articles you linked aren’t just a different form of pseudoscience from someone plugging their own products. Hard to tell if you are not an expect in the area.

A quick google search produced a number of respected academic links that are pro Vitamin C, like this from Harvard Medical School.

I’ve been using some form of Vitamin C product every morning for the past 5 or 6 months, and I genuinely do think my skin looks better for it. While I don’t have particularly sensitive skin anyway, I’ve certainly not had and negative reaction to it.

@Ponks I hope you’ll see the results from using Medik8 r-Retinoate Intense 🙏 It’s my HG but it took me 16 months of almost daily use to get rid of fine lines, decrease the appearance of two of my Venus rings, and lift my sagging cheeks. I could find a vitamin A product which would work faster but I didn’t want to deal with the side effects like redness, flakiness and extreme photosensitivity. The Medik8 cream never caused me any stress even on the days when I didn’t wear SPF! 👀
