@Ponks I will! It's out of my normal budget but I got it in the Caroline Hirons kit

Ah I've only heard about it via CH who makes it sound like a magic cream, and I could do with a bit of wizardry😁

Caggoe I really rate the Soap and Glory body scrubs. I like one that comes in a tube - the scrub of your life. I’m not a huge fan of the scent as it’s just not to my taste but it really works as a product. I am using a White Company Seychelles one at the moment (it was a present) and much as I love the scent, it isn’t a great scrub.

Empty: another Elemis 20g cleansing balm. I love this, really love it, but I’m going to try something cheaper when I finish my cleanser stash. I have Elemis resurfacing cleanser mini and a honey bee (or something like that) full size left.

More empties. I use the Regenerate toothpaste all the time since getting it in a liberty advent calendar a few years ago

@Ponks and @QueenOllie I believe you both are newbies too - welcome one and all!!!

Acquired more rather than I used up yesterday. I re-stashed the Estée Lauder foundation and lip liner that I use at least 3-4 times a week as Boots are doing a GWP which is a really good one for me as I will use everything in it and it included the shade of lipstick that my mum uses all the time, so I can pass that on to her.

So I am nine products up overall! What’s another nine when you have so many —hundreds—?

I have resisted advent calendars this year so far, although I know it is early days. I still have seven Elemis products from last year’s Elemis one and another seven or so from the liberty one the year before. I would be super tempted by a Murad one (could be pricey!) but I haven’t seen one by them.

If unopened and it doesn’t smell funny or look separated then you’ll be fine @Elloello

I’ve not posted in a while but I did a massively geeky thing and made a Trello board which details the over 500 items in my stash Blush

In the last 2 weeks I’ve managed to use up over 50 products. Admittedly a lot of these are sheet masks and sample sizes but I’m pretty pleased with myself.

Full-size empty no. 20, which means that my second goal of 2020 (to finish 20 full-size products from any category) is complete! ✔️

Institut Arnaud Paris Perle & Caviar precious velvety tensor cream for bust and cleavage (75 ml; £16.83).

Another rotten ‘treasure’ of mine – it expired in May 2015 🤮 The Perle & Caviar line was advertised as anti-aging, however, even when this cream was fresh, it had no noticeable anti-aging effect, just lots of glitter to hide imperfections. Unsurprisingly, the whole line has been discontinued.

A total number of products left in the neck and bust care category: 2 foil sachets and 1 full-size product.

Welcome newcomers! 🤗

Amazing job, @Babysharkdoodoodood and @RiskIt4Biscuit! I admire everyone who is capable of massive declutters! 🙌

@IHeartSusanDey, thank you for your recommendation of Lixirskin Vitamin C Paste! 🙏 I'll definitely buy it during Black Friday (I'm still drowning in my skincare products but all the vitamin C products have been used up!).

Such a great idea, @stepmotherofone! Creating an inventory was the best decision I made with regard to my stash management, and it really helps me keep my beauty spending under strict control.

Bought some more goodies from Harvey Nichs to get the GWP. No advents for me this year, so buying the GWP instead. Spent £200Blush

Report
WellTidy · 29/09/2020 11:32

That’s Harvey Nicks GWP looks amazing Caggie. Enjoy! I am resisting both GWPs and advents for now (who knows how long that will last, especially when the M&S ones comes out) but I am ploughing through my stash.

Empties: Elemis resurfacing cleanser 30ml: absolutely loved this to bits and I will repurchase. A really good cleanser (skin was super clean) and evened my skin so well. Only used a tiny pea sized amount each time, and only every other day, so the 30ml lasted me a few months. I’d 100% recommend.

Are candles allowed? Style, rather than beauty (reaching!)? If they are, I’ve used up a Kew Gardens rose and oud tinned candle which was really lovely. Good strong scent and burned evenly. I bought it in a John Lewis sale but since then they’ve repackaged it and the price has more than doubled.

stepmotherofone · 29/09/2020 11:39

@WellTidy there’s no M&S advent this year! And I’m also on a candle burning mission after I realised yesterday that one I’d been hoarding for a special occasion has now totally lost its scent.

@Caggie09 I’ve also placed a HN order this morning. I’ve been so good at using stuff up recently that I decided it was allowed. I did buy a Christmas gift with the £200 I spent so I don’t feel too guilty.

step whaaaaaaaaat?! Oh well. I suppose my stash will benefit from not having 25 additions. I’ve barely bought anything in 2020, save for replenishing my Estée Lauder make up and getting the Boots GWP at the same time. Ive kept my Liberty advent calendar box from 2018 so I might just make one for myself with my stash!

@WellTidy there was a Murad cleanser in one of my advents last year and I was so impressed I treated myself a while back to a full size one. I would love to see a Murad advent too!

Ooooo @stepmotherofone what is a Trello board???? Can we see it?

@stepmotherofone WTAF??? No M&S advent????? 😱😱😱😱😱

Picture of some empties - really liked the Superdrug Radiance Balm... the Facial Oil must have evaporated somehow as not oily at all... The Ordinary Moisturising Factors - second try with this one... a bit meh so not going to use again.

Just got a Vitamin C serum from Primark - cannot go wring for £3 right? 😬

@Experiment627 a Trello board lets you have Boards that contain Lists with Cards on them. I have a Beauty board with a List for each product type and a Card for each product. Once finished I move the Card to my Empties List (part of which should hopefully be pictured if the attachment has worked)

Appreciate it’s a bit sad but I was at a loose end one afternoon and it’s genuinely helped me to focus on what I’ve got and want to use up. I’ve used up over 60 items in the last 3 weeks.

I also really thought about what I had whilst setting it up and donated/binned a load of things I knew I would never use.

Apparently M&S is doing a 10 item GWP from the end of October see here which is along the lines of the summer beauty box. The link also says that they are doing an own brand Formula gift set for £99 (never tried that range so that’s not for me) and a 12 item Autograph advent for £75.

Not a patch on their normal advent calendars IMO. Miffed.

I like your boards and cards step. I have lists of items listed under different categories in a notebook. I then make a separate list each month of the items that I want to use that month and just score through them when they’re used up. I try to have an aim eg ‘Ninth month (September), nine things’ just for added interest! I don’t always achieve the whole list eg I only finished a massive tube of face mask that was on my January list, in August or so. It keeps me accountable and I also know that I really cannot buy for example body cream as I have about 14 already (some full size), ditto bar soaps. And both take bloody ages to use up.

I bought a bullet journal to write my inventory out, it's quite relaxing sitting jotting it down. I lost hours sitting down with all my products out writing it all out. Everytime i get new products i add them in, so the newer stuff goes to the bottom of the listBlush Its keep me on track of what ive got and what ive used. Ill make note of it if its something id like to repurchase.

My empties are

Disciple dreamy skin oil. My skin looked glowy and really fresh in a morning after id used this. It contains Retinyl palmitate, so quite gentle on my skin, but i think just as effective. Curious to try more from this brand..

Dr Dennis Gross Extra strength daily peels. Why do i love these😫£89 for a pack, but i see such a difference after using them. I only do it once a week, as pricey. Purchased this morning to get the HN GWP.

A Garnier sheet mask. Ill always buy these, might not do much but i enjoy using them.

Hi all!

I’m here to beg for some advice 🙏

My HG deodorant by Meow Meow Tweet is almost used up, and they neither sell it in the UK anymore nor ship it outside the US.

Do you know of a decent dupe for their baking soda free deodorant sticks and/or creams (please see the links below)? I’m happy to order from abroad, too. Thank you so so much in advance!
