Beauty Advent Calendars 2020

After a weird year, who is thinking about treating themselves? Can’t believe how quickly this has come round!

Nothing is out yet but some places are keeping waiting lists for notifications e.g. Cult Beauty. The John Lewis sneak peak looks promising. And I believe Body Shop is out the end of this month.

Any you will be looking out for? I’m thinking of splurging on a decent one this year — I had serious envy over Cult Beauty last year. I’ve also become a huge SpaceNK fan this year so I’ll have my eye out to see what they’re producing.

My big surprise hit last year was Holland and Barrett — super cheap and some brilliant items. If it’s as good this year I might end up with that as a bonus.

Yes TK Maxx often does the Ciate ones for £20-25

At the moment Ciate retails at £59 which is more than I want to spend but will keep an eye for price going down as I have another girl to buy for and it might be better suited for her. Thank you for the suggestion.

Look out for Superdrug's advent calendars too. They are usually good for young people

Just looked and there's not so many this year... They definitely had big discounts on their advent calendars last year

Report
LoveEatYoga · 02/10/2020 13:42

Did the discounts come later?

I was going to treat myself, DH and DD to Hotel Chocolat advents but for some reason and especially as I'm hoping to get the CB one I'm really balking at paying £3.95 delivery Confused

My Arran one has arrived , looks lovely and very well packaged. The free hand cream smells beautiful.

Some of the hotel Chocolat advent calendars are on Amazon so you could pay amazon postage or get free delivery with Prime if that helps?

I a trying to resist buying a calendar as I have lots of small sizes from M&S ones, Space NK , Votary & Cult Beauty etc & am trying to use them up.

I used to save to use when on holidays & that hasn't happened for a while & during lockdown I went to use one - a facial exfoliating mask & it had "dried up" in the tube and I had to throw it away Shock so now I am sitting on my hands but have decided to "treat" myself to something special instead - no idea what yet but I will be doing it

(also hopes that Jo Malone limited gifts this year may be upo my street ?)

You are making me think I might treat myself to a full sized bottle of the gorgeous Peony perfume rather than a beauty advent calendar. But also get the Diptyque one as an enormous treat.

Has anyone heard anything about the Debenhams advent calendar? I had it last year and loved it. It was a really reasonable price too.

DH bought me the John Lewis one yesterday. It looks lovely.

I've had them for the past two years, and always been thrilled.

My SpaxeNK arrived and it’s gorgeous. So happy I got £55 off! Can’t wait to open it.

So that’s this, H&B and LookFantastic. Super tempted by Cult Beauty...and next month’s Glossybox is so beautiful and you get money off the advent! Anyone have a GB code??
Talk me down, ladies!

You know...I’d love a stationery calendar but I want something luxe with decent bits in it, not a couple of random paper clips, some drawing pins, and a cheap notebook. I don’t know, maybe I’m expecting too much. But I like my stationery to be substantial.

I like Paperchase too, so I wish it was better. 😬

IIRC I think there was a bit of annoyance generally about Paperchase’s calendar being a bit crap last year. Looks like they haven’t learned from last year as this year’s looks just as uninspiring. There are a couple of stationery calendars on Etsy, but I think I’ll stick to my Inku subscription box from Japan!

NandosPeriometer · 02/10/2020 18:51

The Paperchase one is still crap and looks like it came out of crackers. Reminds me of the terrible Zoella one from a few years ago
