If someone else has already started one of these please direct me over. I’m not qualified to be the OP of these wonderful threads... but I typed the below and I will be heard Grin Wink

Neither the dress nor the tiara are my personal favourites.

But bloody hell it’s got class.

Granny’s dress and tiara turn it from ‘shameful secret wedding because daddy can’t be seen in public anymore’ to ‘intimate family occasion fully supported and loved by Grandmother, The Queen’. I think it’s a huge showing of support from the Queen to her granddaughter and that’s lovely.

I wonder whether Beatrice has actually had the happiest of royal weddings....without cameras inside the church she could have the dress exactly how she wanted it, no having to think about how it would film/photograph from different angles, train too big for the aisle etc etc.
I read earlier that the tiara had long been earmarked for her as she's so close to the queen and they have a special relationship, how lovely.

pandafunfactory · 19/07/2020 15:24

I think it's a triumph of a dress. Perfectly fitted, full of story and love. It's just a knock out. The groom looks blown away.

SerenityNowwwww · 19/07/2020 15:30

Has that dress been lengthened? I haven’t seen the full length original but assume it was a cocktail dress.

StellaRockafella · 19/07/2020 15:30

Love that it’s a vintage dress of the Queen’s. It’s such a pretty dress on Beatrice, she looks so feminine. It’s probably my favourite royal wedding dress so far.

I also love how happy and natural they look together. There’s no formality which is amazing given who they are.

It's beautiful, apparently the queens dressmaker did the alterations. The whole thing was very appropriate for these times.

WhatamessIgotinto · 19/07/2020 15:53

I think that dress is absolutely beautiful. Just lovely.

BackforGood · 19/07/2020 16:01

Stunnng photos. They look so happy.
As others have said, a PR triumph given all the circumstances. A chance for a private wedding with close family and small selection of photos released. They look so happy and I wish them well.

A new thread, excellent!
From the side, that is a great dress for a big boobed, small waisted woman and I really feel the sleeves balance it.
I'd like to see Fergie's outfit. She looked great in the navy/pink suit and green suit respectively at H&M(?) wedding and E's wedding. Quite cinched in. She's looked rather mad of hair lately, so it will be interesting to see how she scrubs up!
I though Beatrice's hair was pretty down in waves and it is a lovely colour - kind of strawberry blonde at the moment, which meant the choice of flowers was perfect.
The pictures almost have a sepia/creamy quality to them, which adds to the vintage look.

IHeartSusanDey · 19/07/2020 16:02

I love the sleeves. Short puff sleeves always look beautiful with long slim arms I think.

AnnieCartwright · 19/07/2020 16:03

@LadyEloise

Whoever thought of Granny's vintage dress and tiara - genius idea. The flower arch was simply stunning. Did anyone else notice a rogue red coloured flower at the base on the left hand side of the door as you look at the photo ?

Boscoismyspiritanimal Diana looks so beautiful in that photo you posted.

I wonder if the red rose was a nod to her Yorkist roots?

Loved the dress and tiara and flowers.

Eaumyword · 19/07/2020 16:05

Wasn't white rose Yorkshire and red rose Lancashire? Might be wrong though!Grin

Thank you rhobhfan
Certainly the look of love 😊

Edo appears more at ease with the camera than most. I guess part of being a successful business man/nobility/education.

Love everything about this apart from that awful, clunking hem addition.

Delighted that they got to have their wedding, thrilled not to see PA, dying to see what Fergie and Eugenie wore......

mathanxiety · 19/07/2020 18:46

The semi-sepia 'Miror' photos show that Parvin and Kelly tried to unify the alterations by using the shinier satin fabric from the skirt addition in the band at the bottom of the sleeves. They have also added some bling to the band, marrying it to the bodice. This may explain the choice of sleeve style.

The difference in fabrics isn't obvious in the fully lit photos.

The red 'roses' must be the plants that are outside the church and just sat underneath the arch flowers.
