I think one of the greatest acts of self care we can do is to be true to our taste.
Your feet, your choice.
Wear them and glow op.

If they bring a smile to your face, get them. Try them out with some outfits!!

Only if she wants to look like Grayson Perry.

I like them, but would prefer in black.
When you are happy with your shoes, I think it always gives you a confidence boost - which makes us look our best, surely?

They're not to my taste but then I daresay you wouldn't like some of my shoes! Each to their own and all that. Your posts have made me smile OP, I hope the shoes make you smile every time you wear them.

OP says she has already bought the shoes!
Why on earth ask for opinions on here other that for being attention seeking??? Hmm

Sorry as a pp said they look like overgrown toddler shoes. Very cute on a toddler but an adult NO.

I see they are children’s shoes but why not.
Wear whatever makes you happy.

I have a few ‘random’ footwear choices. My clothes are fairly boring and it’s fun seeing people doing a double take at my shoes Grin

Do you like them? Then wear them if they make you happy. Fck anyone else.

I have a plain black pair without the bow. They are comfortingly sturdy. Fab with thick black tights and a cord skirt. Like a Librarian who could kick you very hard.

Life's too short - wear the shoes!

I'm not attention seeking, I just like to hear what other people think. That doesn't mean that I won't wear them though, simply that I will bear others thoughts in mind and understand when the general public laugh at me Grin

I would! How much are they?

You are old enough to wear what pleases you. Put them on and enjoy wearing them (and revel in the pearl clutching around you )
They wouldn’t be my taste but why should my taste in shoes influence you ?

I'm all for DMs but they are awful imho. But you get to decide what you wear and it doesn't matter what other people think.

You should wear what you want to wear. Regardless of age. Own it. I love Doc Martens. The bows are not to my taste but that's ok because you clearly like them. Also, individual style is just that, individual and so it should be.
Buy the shoes, wear the shoes, feel great!!

Wear what you like! I don't like them personally but I wear what I like despite my advanced years. I think they'd look great with a funky outfit.

Are DMs narrow in the fit? I'm a 4 but narrow and as some PPs say they come up large, wondering if a 3 would fit better?

I love them and I'm middle aged (on paper anyway - in my head I'm still a teenager!)

@Bluewavescrashing

I don't have particularly wide feet, but I wouldn't say that they were narrow. The silver ones go up to a "older 5" (not sure how DM class that as they also do a regular 5 in other styles) and the 5 fits me perfectly although I take a 6/7 in DM boots. So yes, you might be better with the smaller size. I believe they were £35ish in Very. They also come in black in adult sizes (with a black and spotty bow) They are on my list!

I don't think anyone over 13 can wear those

Report
HarrietSchulenberg · 18/02/2020 10:40

They're gorgeous and yes, you can definitely wear them. Those who wouldn't are the sort of people who like nude heels or grey ballet flats or some other dull rubbish.

Ooh I'm so tempted. Does anyone have a Very discount code or referral code please? I'm skint.

Have you never bought something and then had qualms about wearing it? It's S&B where those questions are asked. Not attention seeking.
