If you like them, you can afford them, and they fit you, then what anyone else thinks it's beside the point
Go for it!Grin

They look so friendly ! Somehow I feel a glittery Doc wearer would be a warm and approachable person.

I love them and actually think I might buy a pair after seeing this thread. Late 30s

You've all made my day, thank you. Perhaps I'm not crazy after all.

They are bloody lovely.

It's funny when people say, "urgh horrible, buy these instead" and then post a picture of something that is nothing like the shoe the op asked about! Like on baby names -
"I like the name Amarinta-Mae..What do you guys think?"
"Urgh horrible...have you thought about Elizabeth?"

Loving the comments here.
I'm over 50 and would wear those shoes. Then again, I have (long) blue & purple hair, wear Hello Kitty socks and Emily Strange t-shirts. My SIL is older than me with longer hair which she ties back with a bandana, and she lives in red FM boots.
We don't care if you don't like it. You're not wearing it.

^DM boots, stupid autocorrect

Not my taste but I'm from the wear what you want camp. I do like DM boots but they don't suit me unfortunately. You need to have a whole 'look'.

Oh em gee, I love these shoes. Where did you get them from?

SecretWitch · 20/02/2020 14:32

@Bluewavescrashing, those look fab on you❤️

Report
Bluewavescrashing · 20/02/2020 14:35

Thank you @SecretWitch! I'll probably wear them with pinafores and long sleeve tees. Or skirts.

They are horrendous. You can wear them if you're a children's TV presenter dressed as a clown. Otherwise fuck no.

I'm an infant school teacher so not far off the mark 🙂 the children love funky shoes!

Well I wore them today. I can confirm that the sun is still shining, the stars have not fallen from the sky, civilization has not collapsed and I did not leave a trail of traumatised members of the public strewn atop the pavements, frothing at the mouth in my wake.

I bet at at least one person compliments you on them

You should reserve the right to wear what you like and I will reserve my right to think, “My eyes! My eyes!”

Actually I often have bad thoughts about other people’s footwear. I only think the thoughts, though. Do I comply with the ‘be kind’ directive? When I retire and no longer have to do a morning commute (current estimate puts this at age 70 so not any time soon!), on my last morning I will ask each and every one of the women on the platform who habitually wear shoes I consider to be hideous, “why would you make your own feet and legs look so ugly WHY WHY WHY????”

Report
Iamthewombat · 20/02/2020 18:24

(I wouldn’t really, but I would very much like to know the reasons of each individual hideous shoe-wearer)

Well I wore them today.

Did you remove the whimsical bow?

Report
Clackyheels · 20/02/2020 18:44

Haha, good hopefully they made you smile and enjoy your day a little more. If you like them wear them.

I want them!
But they are kids shoes so can't.

I did remove the whimsical bow, but only because it was pouring rain and I didn't want to ruin it. If its dry tomorrow it will be back on!

Yes you can! Why not? Most of my shoes are from the children's section--much cheaper as you don't pay VAT. Some are ditsy and cute, others look like 'normal' shoes eg trainers and boots. It's a nice perk if you have small feet!

I would wear them without the bow in black or red. I'm middle aged

Do they fit?
Do you like them?
Are you comfortable in them?
If you answered yes, then you can wear them

Report
MrsDoylesTeaBags · 20/02/2020 20:24

There's a reason they're in the clearance sale

Report
SmellyBeard · 20/02/2020 22:14

But the fastening is velcro. Won't it go all curly and crap?
