If you like them, wear them. Age has nothing to do with it.

They are in the Clearance for a reason.

I can absolutely see Iris Apfel rocking these and she's in her 90s and almost certainly more stylish than any Mumsnetter who would say you 'can't' wear these

Yes of course ! I know a few middle aged women who wear shoes like that. You like them, you wear them.

Grayson Perry could wear them.
They'd look fab on someone over 70. No one else needs them though.

But then I do have to say that some of the items referenced in S & B.. Eg some of the classic ballet pumps etc I wouldn't wear for love nor money. They are horrible imo.

They certainly look better for the feet than court shoes.

I love DMs in general, but thst kind of style look like over grown toddler shoes and have a kind of DDLG vibe. Not my cup of tea at all.

Love them! Where are they in the sale?

They are foul.

But a pet hate of mine is middle-aged women in wacky shoes.

I think if all this hate is making you defend them and want them more then you have your answer.

My best friend who is 50 would wear those and look amazing. Probably with orange cord flared cropped dungarees. And look amazing. Because she goes all in. You know it is a deliberate look not a mistake. She works in The Arts dahling.

Me I work in boring and dress boring with an edge. I would not wear those shoes. Never ever.

I kind of like them, not my taste at all but I can see with the right outfit they could work. If you love them get them.

mum29919 · 17/02/2020 21:27

Absolutely! I love them! I'd wear them with ankle grazer black jeans or a plain ish midi dress. Your age shouldn't matter, if you like them wear them!

Why would you want to look like an over grown toddler?

They look like a child’s party shoes to me.
Your money your choice.
