Is this dress too short for 39!?

I got this dress from whistles which I love until DH said it was a touch too short. I'm 39 years old and don't want to look mutton!

What do you think?

No. I'm the same age and probably wear very "inappropriate" clothing according to some, but we should all wear what we like.

@Pooshweens You have a lovely figure and great hair! And I bet you could pass for 29 to 32, so as a few posters have said, it's not an age thing at all. I think you could get away with wearing most stuff.

BUT (sorry,) this dress is a bit short and slightly odd looking and not a really nice dress. It's not a great look sorry. JMO don't mean to offend!

I'm 47 and I have a skirt you could see my fanwah in if I didn't pair it with the worlds thickest tights. I wouldn't wear it bare legged or neutral tights though. It looks fab on you!
My partner has told me previously that a certain dress I own was 'too short' I asked him what it was too short for? He couldn't give me a satisfactory answer and hasn't mentioned it since

I think you look great. in my experience though once someone says they don't like something to me, i can't feel 100% comfortable with it after that.

Gorgeous figure so you can definitely carry it off. I'm late 40's and would wear it with the dark tights.

I think it's a matter of personal choice and what you feel comfortable with, OP.

You have very good legs, as do I. I used to wear short skirts and dresses non stop. I wouldn't now wear anything that short, though - because I do think I'd look muttony at 48 (on the fact of it, I do look a lot younger, thanks to good genes, good hair and no effort - but I wouldn't if I were actually standing next to someone who was 30). I still only ever wear skirts, but now generally wear calf-length pencil skirts, which do show that I have a very good shape but are a bit less 'young'. This is partly because my teenage DDs wear short skirts, and I don't want to be in the same style arena as them.

But that's what I'm happy with, and I completely accept that other women might feel happy in different clothes.

I love your confidence and I think you look great in that skirt. Doesn't matter about age. I'm 31 and I wouldn't have the confidence to wear a mini skirt. I'm more of a midi length kind of girl. I mainly wear jeans, leggings, trousers or jumpsuits.

39 is far too young to worry about too short dress lengths. You look great and tell your DH not to be so daft.

Someone to me: 'You don't want to look like mutton dressed as lamb, do you?'
Me: 'Tis better than looking like mutton dressed as mutton'
