Is this dress too short for 39!?

I got this dress from whistles which I love until DH said it was a touch too short. I'm 39 years old and don't want to look mutton!

What do you think?

Not age related at all but yes it does look too short. It looks like its not supposed to be that short and it doesn't quite fit.

I think given that you've paired it with very thick tights, and it covers your chest and arms, that it's not too short at all.

I wouldn't even let your age factor into it, if you look good, you look good (and you suuuure do)!

You look great IMHO. 39 is still young in my book ! You have a nice slim figure and set it off well

The only rule is if you feel good - wear it
There should be zero correlation between age and length of skirt

It’s a bit of an awkward length in that it makes your thighs look disproportionately skinny but I think that’s more to do with black tights making it more noticeable.

Far too short. Mutton dressed as lamb. At your age you should be wearing tweed knee length skirts with a nice purple or green twinset, with a nice low blocked heel.

Not forgetting the pearls and a naice brooch.

I think the dress looks absolutely fine. I'm not sure about the black tights and black pointy boots though.

Hell no, I’m 36 and wear short dresses all the time! You wear it with pride! You look amazing :)

I am wearing a similar length today and I am forty seven next week....I have better legs now than I did in my twenties so I am getting them out!! (With thick tights though)

I'd say it's too short. Nothing to do with your age, it's more like a long tunic. However it does look great with the tights, but I doubt if it would with bare legs

I think as long as you are wearing opaques then short is fine. Particularly with ankle boots. I think you look nice.
