Is this dress too short for 39!?

I got this dress from whistles which I love until DH said it was a touch too short. I'm 39 years old and don't want to look mutton!

What do you think?

Im 44 and have just stopped wearing that length. Just dont feel comfortable now but wouldn't judge anyone else on wearing that length.

You've got the figure for it so I don't think it looks too short. It's very nice, may be better with boots though?

It is a lovely dress, wear it with pride. You will one day look back to your days of fun dresses and smile.

I wouldn't wear it - but I don't have your slender legs and enviable figure!

Is there some sort of descending rule for length of skirt as your years advance? Add an inch for each year??

I ask as a 39 yr old who has shorter skirts for day to day wear

My only issue is the pointy, thin heeled boots which make the entire look a bit dated and witchy. A chunkier boot would be better esp given the froufiness of the dress.

I don’t think 39 is anywhere near old enough to worry about hem lengths and you have great legs.

I think that particular dress is too short though, it just doesn’t look right and will be very exposing the minute you bend or sit.
