Interesting article today in Dagens Nyheter about princess Märtha Louise of Norway and her new book about growing up as a "sensitive child" in a royal household. I'll post the link because they give people a few free articles before the paywall kicks in. There are a few excellent photos in it of herself and her brother as children. Those of you going on about HPH might need to take a look... Queen Sonja looking fantastic in a few pictures there.

Gist of it is that she has been very depressed because she never felt she could live up to what was expected of her, she's relieved she isnt' crown princess even though she's the eldest. They changed the rules when the kids were young but gave her the choice to take the crown or not and she opted out.

Can't access the article but that's a lovely photo of ML. I think Ingrid Alexandra looks a lot like her.

Posting pics - love the horse one, that's when she's happiest she says.

Letizia working a smoky eye and some very odd fringing.

Letizia again, lookomg sharp in a black military-style coat. Kate is taking notes for next year's Remembrance Day events!

Princess Anne and Sophie are very visible these days - nice to see. If not necessarily from a clothes point of view. Grin

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/12/2019 18:35

I agree. The RF is probably trying to distract from the whole Andrew disaster and showing there are members who do work hard.

Also H&M whether fairly or not, took up a lot of column inches on not work articles.
Kate has been pretty low key since Pakistan.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/12/2019 18:38

Speaking of Sophie’s work

StartupRepair · 06/12/2019 19:33

Nice news for the Luxembourgers. Stephanie often looks a bit distant and miserable (though not to Charlene levels) so perhaps there has been some issues for them.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/12/2019 20:22

Princess Anne was the number 1 trending topic on Twitter earlier this week but not because of her hard work!

What fashion outings have we to look forward to on the next thread?

Wetdogloveshubert · 06/12/2019 20:43

Speaking of Sophie being out and about, here she is on Wednesday at Buckingham Palace as patron of the Scar Free Foundation. What a joyous picture with the child.

Damn, sorry @CurlyWurlyTwirly. Duplicating your words too Shock

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/12/2019 20:48

Just googled so can answer my own question Diplomatic Corps reception on December 11th.
Apparently Kate will be wearing her new Royal Victorian order sash.

@banivani
As our Scandinavian correspondent Grin any idea when the Nobels are?

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 06/12/2019 20:49

@Wetdogloveshubert

Hive mind Wink

Wetdogloveshubert · 06/12/2019 20:52

Ooh new tiara event, that is exciting! It's about time we had a proper event.

itswinetime · 06/12/2019 20:54

The future events page of the royal website have Charles and Camilla at boat commissioning on the 10th there are a few for Anne and Sophie to. Nothing thing for Kate or Queen though The Cambridge's tend to release their schedules last min but at the moment December is looking like a slow month for the British royal fashion let's hope the European royals have something to keep us going.

I'm surprised we haven't even had the Christmas cards yet aren't they normally out by now?

itswinetime · 06/12/2019 20:59

You found out more than me then curly that isn't listed on the royal diary do they not know that events that involve gowns and sparkle should have top billing Crown Grin

Kate if your reading I think we can all agree as a Christmas gift to the thread Raid the royal vault find a new tiara please 🙏🏻👸🏻

Horsemad · 06/12/2019 21:04

It will soon be the Queen's Christmas Dinner for the family not going to Sandringham. Not that it's a high fashion event but we may see some nice outfits.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/12/2019 21:08

The Nobels are on the 10th I think, and no one does tiaras and gowns like the Swedes.

MotherofPearl · 06/12/2019 21:09

Great pictures of Sophie.

Good grief, it's such a slow time for royal fashion at the moment I'd be surprised if we even need a new thread before Christmas! This one has lasted unusually long.

itswinetime · 06/12/2019 21:10

I think all we normally get for that is car shots as it's a 'private event'

I wonder if Meghan and Harry will go though? It's a private event and I know they aren't spending Christmas Day with his family and are on a break but that kind of falls into the grey area of not public but not private either.

I think if they miss that and then obviously are missing Christmas that will be the clearest statement to how things are in the family we get!
