Oh my @QueenOfTheAndals Shock

IfWishesWereFishes · 20/11/2019 22:35

An independent designer is unlikely to risk their young/small business being tainted, even more than a brand, I'd imagine.

paradyning · 20/11/2019 22:37

I'm not sure Charlene likes them either! She never wears them. Even to tiara events.

justasking111 · 20/11/2019 22:42

Something about red and tartan at xmas that is lovely. Camillas pieces are amazing, I wonder how much these pieces weigh. You would certainly know you are wearing them.

iknowimcoming · 20/11/2019 22:43

No expert but I wonder if an announcement is coming about something other than andrew (maybe Bea's wedding or a baby Eug/Meg) and the andrew stuff is being done now so it can theoretically be buried under the happier news?

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 20/11/2019 22:43

How come Charles has come anyway unscathed with being buddies with Jimmy Saville? Didn’t he counsel or offer to counsel Charles and Diana during their marriage? Must have been a pretty close friend to be in that position.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/11/2019 22:47

Maybe Lindka Czierach who made Sarah's dress could make one for Bea.

frugalkitty · 20/11/2019 22:48

The Emanuels designed the black dress Diana wore before she was married which really put them on the map but no one expected them to get the wedding dress commission. I think as he got out of the car first, Charles said to the photographers something like "wait till you see this" or words to that effect.

Jesus! That picture of Charlene 😵

justasking111 · 20/11/2019 22:57

Just found this bling look of Catherine`s.

Interesting headband here. Do not recall this dress.

More about the dress by Emmanuels I should have guessed.

Loving the rocks here.

Charlene in a tuxedo
Jury’s out.

AppleKatie · 20/11/2019 23:27

Charlene looks great in the tux!

I wonder if Kate just doesn’t like wearing the jewels it’s very rare to see her in several pieces at once.

beanaseireann · 20/11/2019 23:49

Thank you for the new thread QueenoftheAndals.
I love that black dress on Kate.

SenecaFalls · 20/11/2019 23:50

I love the tartan skirt too. It's Christmassy but can be worn other times as well. I'm on the lookout for one myself.

MotherofPearl · 21/11/2019 05:59

Needless to say I don't have any RF style jewels, but inspired by this thread I'm wearing the strand of graduated pearls I inherited from my grandmother to work today. I don't wear them often enough!

Balloondog · 21/11/2019 06:47

Charlene looks great in the tux, I LOVE that her clutch purse has a 'bow tie' on the front of it - I think it really pulls it together.

banivani · 21/11/2019 06:53

How the arse do you forget to pack a tiara?

Thanks for the new thread Queen! Lost track of last thread but read a bit.

Re Catherine wearing jewels it’s interesting that some on the thread are a bit put out by it. I direct you to a previous comment by me reporting from an interview with CPV who said she enjoyed blinging it up because she felt that dressing up to mark an occasion showed respect (sadly I suspect this, for a royal, includes those awful orders). I humbly submit to the court that you feel at some level that DoC not being blingy means she doesn’t take the occasion seriously enough/isn’t respectful enough? Discuss.

Fwiw I loved that black lace dress on the previous thread. It was just that little bit edgy in a way I think she quite likes but is afraid to indulge in. Now if she wore a ton of inherited jewels with it it might actually have the effect of dressing it down - that mix of tradition with sexiness you know. Like Madeleine’s cleavage one Nobel award (pic attached).

banivani · 21/11/2019 06:58

Also very much enjoyed the piece on the Norwegian emeralds linked above, thank you!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 21/11/2019 07:04

Madeleine looks like she was wearing an Anne Summers bra!

MotherofPearl · 21/11/2019 07:11

Wowsers, that is some cleavage!

Yes I think that you're onto something with that theory @banivani. As @BertrandRussell says, we want the RF to provide a spectacle - it's part of what they're for.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/11/2019 07:14

The Mail would have a fit if any of the British royals wore as décolleté a dress as that! Mind you, Princess Margaret used to...
