Who has said she won't be attending? Seems a bit last minute maybe she forgot George has some themed fancy dress day at school tomorrow and needs to get sewing Wink

FATEdestiny · 21/11/2019 16:34

It seems that Kate will no longer be attending tonight's awards 'due to the children'

Early pregnancy?

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/11/2019 16:37

It does seem a bit odd if the children aren't unwell and she's meeting people this afternoon anyway.

We've been cheated out of this evening's rock and frock talk!

Who has said she won't be attending?

KP put out an announcement.

TokyoSushi · 21/11/2019 16:50

That seems an odd excuse, maybe somebody is ill and she has the mum guilt, or just for once, she thought 'I really can't be bothered!'

Hopefully all is ok

Lunde · 21/11/2019 17:03

Early pregnancy?
Broken wrist of one?

whitershadeofpale · 21/11/2019 17:04

It is bizarre, surely you'd just say something like she's staying with Prince Louis who is recovering from a minor illness. They announced that Camilla had a cold so it's not as if they keep these things secret. I wouldn't imagine pregnancy or else she wouldn't be going to this afternoon's event.

Maybe one of the children is being clingy and she wants to stay, but it seems a poor reason.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/11/2019 17:06

But then why not say they're unwell? Rather than just that she can't come because of "the children"?

OP posts:
justasking111 · 21/11/2019 17:09

Perhaps a school event is going on I would not want to miss that.

itswinetime · 21/11/2019 17:11

It's a very odd excuse it's just going to have people speculating all night and not focused on the event! Either say one of the children is unwell has the pox or whatever it's not going to cause mad panic. Or if it's not that explain why with 2-3 nanny's suddenly the children can't be left. Very odd.

whitershadeofpale · 21/11/2019 17:11

Perhaps a school event is going on I would not want to miss that.

Surely, that would have been scheduled well in advance though. Leaving it until the evening of the event is weird.

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/11/2019 17:14

Unless George or Charlotte have done that classic thing of "Mummy I need an elaborate costume for tomorrow and yes I did know about it a week ago but I'm only telling you now"! But again, they have staff who could run to the nearest fancy dress shop.

• George has suddenly announced that he has a homework project to be handed in tomorrow. (check)
• The kids have nits & need to be denitted (check)
• George has accidentally karate kicked Charlotte & sent her front tooth flying across the room (check)
• Louis has found Kate's make up bag & 'coloured' the bathroom in, himself in, Kate's frock in etc & wrecked all of her make up (check)
• Kate & William have had a massive row (check)

QueenOfTheAndals · 21/11/2019 17:18

Staff
Staff
Staff
Staff plus it's not like she has a shortage of frocks
Hmmm

Maybe her and William had words Roman Kemp did reveal this story last night on in a celeb

Daily mail link

For those that don't click on the daily fail the story is that Harry tried to get roman to fire water balloons at William when he refused Kate did it!

IfWishesWereFishes · 21/11/2019 17:26

Maybe she's been out and away from them so much that she's thought 'nope, they just need me to be around'.

I know that happens to me when I've been traveling a lot for work.

ajandjjmum · 21/11/2019 17:28

I don't think so - Kate would meet her commitments. Curious though.

itswinetime · 21/11/2019 17:30

Apart for the royal variety show has she really been away from them all that much though?

It was just odd to put out such a vaguely worded press release! Speculation like this is normally what the royals try and avoid!

BertrandRussell · 21/11/2019 17:34

Just to reassure me- nobody is being serious with the homework\costume\been away too much reasons are they?

Lunde · 21/11/2019 17:35

She was away for days in Pakistan just last month - so not like she cannot leave them

Perhaps the nanny is sick or has gone to A&E

Lunde · 21/11/2019 17:37

.... or perhaps George and/or Charlotte are upset if they have been taunted about Prince Andrew at school

itswinetime · 21/11/2019 17:39

What you can't see Kate glueing and sewing madly right now creating the perfect themed outfit for fancy dress day tomorrow Bert Wink

JaimeBronde · 21/11/2019 17:44

Actually Kate's round at mine right now, helping DD finish off her Art project & then we're going to catch up on IACGMOOH with a glass of wine or 3 later Grin

justasking111 · 21/11/2019 17:47

Maybe she doesn`t want to miss an evening of Ant and Dec, with a glass of prosecco a box of thorntons and the palace jewellery catalogue to flick through Grin

MrsGrindah · 21/11/2019 17:47

She probably just thought “ You know what? I can’t be arsed”
