For a bit of nostalgia! I’ll kick things off..

  • Hard Candy makeup and nail polish. I had a quad of eyeshadows in purples and golds, thought it was the shit!
  • hair mascaras. Wtf were they about. Made your hair look like a gunky stringy mess
  • body shop dewberry body spray, which was the thing at our school, along with
  • wearing boy’s Lynx deodorant (I still recall which boys I fancied wore Tempest!)
  • heather shimmer lipstick, obviously
  • Rouge Noir nail polish, which everyone thought was the shit cos of Pulp Fiction, but it turned out to not even be the one that Uma Thurman wore)

Hit me with your memories!

I miss dewberry!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 16/11/2019 19:24

The cap things you put over your head that had a sleeve to put your hairdryer in to.

FanSpamTastic · 16/11/2019 19:37

Number 17 Twilight Teaser lipstick.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 19:40

Oooh loads (for I am ancient)

I didn't use half of these but they were around:

Woodleigh Green apple shampoo (and there was a soap)

Topaz shampoo and conditioner

Once - layered , shake it to mix and you only needed one wash

Flex shampoo (really distinctive smell)

Molton Browners - soft long rollers . Spiral hair , twist round roller , fold up and go to sleep wearing them !

We used to plait into tiny multiple plaits then lightly comb through with fingers . Instant Kate Bush look.
Or there were crimpers if you wanted to fry your hair

Bonne Belle 10-0-6 cleanser . From USA

L'Oreal Free Style Mousse - the model in the advert had blonde side swept gravity defying hair

BodyShop Green shampoo and Hair Salad conditioner

Timote shampoo

Jovan musk

StealthNinjaMum · 16/11/2019 19:42

I used Twilight Teaser lipstick too even though it never suited me. I wore it with a hideous blue eye shadow.

Roselilly36 · 16/11/2019 19:46

Twilight Teaser! Made your lips look a very unhealthy shade of blue, I thought it was fab in the day.

Shaders and Toners wash in hair colour.

Anne French cleansing milk.

Pretty Feet, lotion that removed hard skin

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 19:47

Oh and those little glass rollerball lipglosses ( Constance Carolle) either strawberry or lemon. Gloopy as hell but the advert was glam

'Lickety Lips ' -Tiny lip balm in a tin , rectangular . The lid slid back.

Henna - BodyShop, Henera, . Totally uncontrolable . You mix up, slap it on, waft about in a polybag and hair towel for hours to look like Carol Decker

Toners and Shaders hair tints (you could always tell when Jackie magazine had a Free Gift Grin

Glints - the box was tall oval . Popular shade was Black Cherry

MikeUniformMike · 16/11/2019 19:47

Silvikrin shampoo
Sunsilk shampoo
Anne French cleanser

Pinkflipflop85 · 16/11/2019 19:49

Heather shimmer lipstick

I had a mascara from the body shop that was supposed to be silver. Instead it looked like you had little lumps of chewing gum stuck to your lashes.

Body glitter that came in tubes with rollerballs to apply

Destroying hair with sun in!

Pinkflipflop85 · 16/11/2019 19:50

Ooh and fetish perfume!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 19:50

Quickies - square blue box of face cleansing pads . They were tiny about 2" square so not a full face sided , but smelled lovely .

MorrisZapp · 16/11/2019 19:51

Linco Beer

Bath pearls from the body shop, white musk perfume and those little pots of fruity smelling lip balm.

BiBiBirdie · 16/11/2019 19:58

Boots used to do a shampoo that was amazing. I think it was Horse Chestnut, it was in a clear bottle, and was thick and dark brown, almost black.
It used to leave my hair looking amazing. Then the buggers stopped doing it.

Was also a huge fan of Hard Candy, the polishes used to come with a matching plastic ring. I loved the baby blue one.

Toners and shaders. How awful were they? The stain they left on your parting lasted longer than the dye in your hair

I had clip in hair extensions, to give highlights. Awful.

Body glitter everywhere. I was always bathed in it.

The early hair dye in spray cans, so noxious you'd be high as a kite by the time you'd leave the house. Fell asleep pissed after spraying my hair bright pink, woke up and had huge patches of pink on my mum's light green and white sofa. She went mental.

Mascara blocks that came in a little lidded box with a tiny brush. You spat onto the block before putting mascara on your lashes.

Mary Quant eye shadow trios. I had one which was two shades of green and a yellow highlighter.

Mary Quant silver goes pink lipstick. The lipstick was silver, but it turned pink on your lips.

AwdBovril · 16/11/2019 19:59

Body Shop cocoa butter range. Especially the lip balm. Only discontinued a few years ago - I actually still have some (I stocked up when I heard they were stopping it). No other lip balm is as good.
Boots (natural collection, I think) maidenhair shampoo. First shampoo I discovered that my ultra long, thick hair really liked. It smelled lovely too.
Rimmel Colour Rush lip colour balm sticks - again, I stocked up (can still buy on ebay etc, but getting more expensive). Moisturising lipstick that smells like vanilla.
Lancome concealer - in a sort of pen applicator with a brush at the end. Really nice texture, amazingly it came in a shade pale enough for me. Totally covered my dreadful dark circles. Nothing compares, I've tried.

dementedma · 16/11/2019 20:00

White Musk from the Body Shop, and their Raspberry bubble bath.
Anne French cleansing milk
Little hot oil sachets of hair conditioner
Nivea Face Cream in a blue tub

Guineapig456 · 16/11/2019 20:01

Flex shampoo was a gorgeous scent, also am fondly remembering White Musk and the bath pearls from Body Shop. I also loved the Elderflower Eye Gel from there, it was so refreshing. Heather Shimmer eye shadow (or was that the name of a lipstick I used?😙) Also loved lemon scented soap in shape of a whole lemon. Ananya perfume from Body Shop also rings a bell.

NecklessMumster · 16/11/2019 20:01

Bonnebel 10 0 6 ! I'd totally forgotten that. Harsh smell and shiny faceSmile

MrsMalcolm · 16/11/2019 20:08

I had forgotten about this gem!

pinkpanther84 · 16/11/2019 20:14

Bath pearls from the body shop, and Impulse body spray!

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/11/2019 20:16

I still have an old heather shimmer lipstick in a drawer.

Ticklemeelmo · 16/11/2019 20:19

Sun in 🙈 No idea if they still sell it, hopefully not!
