For a bit of nostalgia! I’ll kick things off..

  • Hard Candy makeup and nail polish. I had a quad of eyeshadows in purples and golds, thought it was the shit!
  • hair mascaras. Wtf were they about. Made your hair look like a gunky stringy mess
  • body shop dewberry body spray, which was the thing at our school, along with
  • wearing boy’s Lynx deodorant (I still recall which boys I fancied wore Tempest!)
  • heather shimmer lipstick, obviously
  • Rouge Noir nail polish, which everyone thought was the shit cos of Pulp Fiction, but it turned out to not even be the one that Uma Thurman wore)

Hit me with your memories!

Miners
Shampoos in sachets

Dementedma Nivea blue tub still exists , I use it and it is recommended on here all the time .

ZeldaPrincessOfHyrule · 16/11/2019 20:20

Oh god I LOVED hair mascara and I'm fully aware I'm the only one! I had really short messy hair and it looked amazing with streaks of the Superdrug hair mascara through it. I adored that stuff. Aah, to be a teenager again...

Actually, maybe not!

SpeckledyHen · 16/11/2019 20:22

Avon soap-on-a-rope

Greyhound22 · 16/11/2019 20:22

Body Shop Tangerine Beer shampoo - it was in a tub and you scooped some out. Nothing was as beautiful as an unscooped tub.

Why Body Shop Why?

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/11/2019 20:23

Beer Shampoo in a plastic beer barrel-shaped bottle.

Body shop coconut shampoo, still missed.

FlatheadScrewdriver · 16/11/2019 20:28

Flex shampoo! That has catapulted me back to teenage years in the avocado bathroom.

Body shop peppermint foot stuff
Shaders and toners, sadly yes, many times (I never learned)
The Home Perm (I'll move on)
A banana clip that sort of scraped all your hair into a long clump but was always that bit too long for the back of your head so the clip base dug into your neck all day

flopsytheflatcat · 16/11/2019 20:32

A perfume called Le Jardin

carlywurly · 16/11/2019 20:34

The Original boots natural collection range was amazing back in the 90s. There was some gorgeous shampoo - I remember coconut, raspberry and something like water garden which smelled incredible.

I also remember the horse chestnut shampoo and how glossy it made my hair. Smile

Auntyfannybaws · 16/11/2019 20:34

Twilight teaser!!! I bloody loved, then got all sophisticated and got heather shimmer Grin

Mamasaurus82 · 16/11/2019 20:36

Ah, bath pearls and white musk from the body shop.

TheHuntingOfTheSarky · 16/11/2019 20:36

Miners Pacific Prawn lipstick

EskewedBeef · 16/11/2019 20:38

Aapri cleansing pads. One side was exfoliating and they made my face squeaky clean (not an exaggeration).

Fuckloadofcheese · 16/11/2019 20:39

10-0-6 was like paint stripper.

Mascara blocks that came in a little lidded box with a tiny brush. You spat onto the block before putting mascara on your lashes.

No no you wet the brush with water from the tap, not spat on it! Yuck!

They were the bomb, though. Nothing gave me thicker blacker lashes.

Rainflower perfume (my DSis wore it , I was Envy )

And Miss Selfridge did a range of make-up, white with red writing .

And their trademaek lipstick 'kiss' print . I had the dressing gown, the thin one not the towelling (bad choice , I froze )

There was a cleanser , something like Baby Bye Bye or similar

Craftycorvid · 16/11/2019 20:44

Ah The Body Shop in the good old days! They did refills on a lot of products and used to have huge bottles of shampoo etc behind the counter. I wore White Musk and Dewberry perfume and used to use their henna shampoo. Lush still makes their Orchid oil cleanser but it’s called 9-5. And I remember bath pearls too!

EsmeShelby · 16/11/2019 20:46

Still use Anne French cleanser now.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 20:47

Impulse Body Sprays were the thing .
There was a black one Nirvana that was spicy ( it could knock you bandy from 20 paces)

And gold spray for hair (spray in/wash out , except it didn't)

SoftBlocks · 16/11/2019 20:51

Revlon Sea Minerals shampoo.
Vidal Sassoon shampoo that smelt of almonds.
Delph lemon cleanser.

Not missed - tinted Clearasil spot cream which was orange.

SaggySadSack · 16/11/2019 20:55

Bodyshop Banana Hair Putty from about 30 years was gorgeous. I still wear white musk!

Fuckloadofcheese · 16/11/2019 20:56

Bath pearls used to leave the slithery skin bit left on the bottom of the bath for someone to slip on

Aapri face cleanser
Lipcote

pongopig · 16/11/2019 20:57

Body shop Japanese washing grains.

Disfordarkchocolate · 16/11/2019 20:58

The Christmas ritual of nearly breaking your neck in the bath @Fuckloadofcheese

dementedma · 16/11/2019 20:59

Ooh I remember Japanese washing grains

pongopig · 16/11/2019 21:02
