For a bit of nostalgia! I’ll kick things off..

  • Hard Candy makeup and nail polish. I had a quad of eyeshadows in purples and golds, thought it was the shit!
  • hair mascaras. Wtf were they about. Made your hair look like a gunky stringy mess
  • body shop dewberry body spray, which was the thing at our school, along with
  • wearing boy’s Lynx deodorant (I still recall which boys I fancied wore Tempest!)
  • heather shimmer lipstick, obviously
  • Rouge Noir nail polish, which everyone thought was the shit cos of Pulp Fiction, but it turned out to not even be the one that Uma Thurman wore)

Hit me with your memories!

Remember the boots own oldy World toiletries. Almost like Edwardian country diary type packaging

Iamthewombat · 16/11/2019 22:36

And I used 4711 perfume this summer. It is brilliant for hot weather. Yay for old fashioned beauty products!

Bluntness100 · 16/11/2019 22:36

This takes me back, I used to wear white musk and graduated to so!

And also loved hair mascara, used to give myself an odd gold streak at the front of my dark brown hair, thought I looked the dogs bollocks.

And in my early teens we all wore the twilight teaser lipstick which made our lips look blue. Everyone of us. 🤣

ZootSuit · 16/11/2019 22:39

Body Shop could do so well if they brought out a retro line!

Lemonsaretheonlyfruit · 16/11/2019 22:40

Yes to those really colourful miners eye pallets.

Also a lipstick along the lines of the infamous twilight teaser called baby shrimp.

My first 'grown up' bottle of perfume was Lou Lou (oui c'est moi)

I didn't have flex. We had Vosene in my house which smelt appalling but made your hair so squeaky clean.

I had totally forgotten about passion fruit cleansing gel from the body shop. I can still smell it now! Lovely stuff.

Oh and my friends and I were continually amazed at how much dirt came off onto the cotton wool with Anne french. We were convinced they much have built it into the cleanser!

MurrayTheMonk · 16/11/2019 22:46

Body shop would do a roaring trade if they did a rerun of Dewberry, Fuzzy Peach and Ananya. The 90's are very on trend now. Someone is missing a trick.
Ladies of a certain age would buy loads, as would their daughters.
My first perfume was Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden. I recently saw some in Asda and bought it for DD. She loves it (and I'll admit to a sneaky spritz here and there-takes me back to being 15 Grin).

I used to wear a lipstick called Black Cherries-think it was Rimmel. God knows why, I looked like a Goth (I wasn't one). I used to spout some nonsense about it being my signature lipstick or some such Hmm

thenightsky · 16/11/2019 22:50

Ahh... Rainflower perfume!

I remember pretty much everything listed so far. Heather shimmer was the first make up I ever bought.

Does anyone remember those small plastic bottles of deodorant that you squeezed sharply to puff it under your arms? Before the days of aerosol deo.

Craftycorvid · 16/11/2019 23:03

DCITennison feel your pain about Corn Silk’s demise - best face powder ever! I can recommend the Kat Von D translucent loose powder as a pretty fair replacement, but not cheap!

turnthebiglightoff · 16/11/2019 23:17

Superdrug cucumber body spray; body shop vanilla perfume. Thinking about makes me feel like I'm back in my teenage bedroom!

AlexaAmbidextra · 16/11/2019 23:21

Mary Quant Paintbox. A must have make-up palette from the 70s that we all just had to have.

AlexaAmbidextra · 16/11/2019 23:23

Hint of a Tint shampoo-in hair toner. Miners lipstick called The Palest. It gave you the white lips everyone wanted in the 60s.

Sunsilk Poppy shampoo was amazing. It was for dull hair. It smelt wonderful and everytime I used it (when Inwas at school), I was accused of dying my hair. I was a natural dark blonde and it made my blonder bits zing. Bought a gazillion bottles when I knew it was being discontinued.

Body Shop chamomile shampoo, same as above.

Anne French still around. Use it every now and then.

Schwibble · 16/11/2019 23:43

Limara bodyspray

Impulse Chic bodyspray - red bottle. Also loved the one in the black bottle but can't remember what it was called.

Avon Iona and Occur bodysprays/perfumes.

Body Shop Dewberry

Heather Shimmer lipstick - think it's still around now.

Revlon Flex shampoo - advertised by Cindy Crawford.

bellsbuss · 16/11/2019 23:44

Body shop Dewberry perfume oil and Exclamation perfume from Boots.

Schwibble · 16/11/2019 23:44

Wella High Hair mousse and spray - loved the smell.

justasking111 · 16/11/2019 23:46

Mary Quant crayons in a lovely tin box. Mary Quant Havoc perfume.

Rimmel Rose something lipstick. Sorry cannot remember exact colour.

tobee · 16/11/2019 23:51

Ah! Memories.

I used to love Rimmel make up; I wanted all their lipstick colours. Was it them or someone else who did those flavoured roller ball lip glosses? I always thought I'd be onto a sure thing wearing those!! GrinEven though you turn round and half your hair would fly up and be glued to your lips.

I used to absolutely adore Impulse Nirvana @70isaLimitNotaTarget. I thought the black packaging made me impossibly sexy, sophisticated and mysterious! GrinGrin

Although you can all keep your Dewberry. Everyone wore it, it was overpoweringly sickly Envy

MrsMoastyToasty · 16/11/2019 23:57

Lipcote. It was like painting yacht varnish over your lipstick.
Anaïs Anaïs perfume.
Poison perfume.

PollyFeather · 16/11/2019 23:58

Body shop pineapple face wash cream

Body Shop animal shaped soaps

From Boots (and no one remembers it but me) a body cream that they made in collaboration with the world wildlife fund. It was pink and smelt incredible

Sunsilk eau de parfum shampoo

Body shop grapefruit shower oil

New West perfume

Pierot the clown products from Avon .
I had the bedding and perfume

tobee · 17/11/2019 00:02

I used always have lipcote even though it made your lips sting!

EmmaOvary · 17/11/2019 00:11

Body Shop Strawberry Sundae lip balm 😀

Lyndalou1981 · 17/11/2019 00:36

Rimmel pale biscuit foundation & heather shimmer lipstick...I think everyone at my school wore both those even if it wasn't our colour!
Panstick 🤦‍♀️ there was no contouring in those days 😂
Cerutti 1881
Exclamation, So, Charlie
Tweezers...for over plucking my brows to the point they nearly resembled upside down nike ticks 🤭 (big regret now)

managedmis · 17/11/2019 00:49

Body Shop Tangerine Beer shampoo - it was in a tub and you scooped some out. Nothing was as beautiful as an unscooped tub.

^

God I'd totally forgotten about this! It was a super dense orangey cream that you scooped out

Anyone remember that Body Shop blue grass or something body scrub/face mask? It was really harsh but cleared spots up Grin

managedmis · 17/11/2019 00:50

Even though you turn round and half your hair would fly up and be glued to your lips.

^^

Grin
