For a bit of nostalgia! I’ll kick things off..

  • Hard Candy makeup and nail polish. I had a quad of eyeshadows in purples and golds, thought it was the shit!
  • hair mascaras. Wtf were they about. Made your hair look like a gunky stringy mess
  • body shop dewberry body spray, which was the thing at our school, along with
  • wearing boy’s Lynx deodorant (I still recall which boys I fancied wore Tempest!)
  • heather shimmer lipstick, obviously
  • Rouge Noir nail polish, which everyone thought was the shit cos of Pulp Fiction, but it turned out to not even be the one that Uma Thurman wore)

Hit me with your memories!

Miners nail polish in disgusting colours, yellow, green, I thought I was the business.

Japanese washing grains amazing.

Charlie perfume Faberge Babe, Blase.

jenthelibrarian · 16/11/2019 21:41

Another vote for Flex shampoo [was it from Revlon?]

Block mascara

Boots 17 had a very sticky lip gloss in a shade called 'Toasted Honey' that I loved.

Acqua Manda in those dark brown glass bottles with the oranges and foliage design.

Avon floral scents with deodorant talc [whatever happened to talc?]

alwaysthinkingofsleep · 16/11/2019 21:42

Has anyone mentioned the original Avon bronzer pearls & matching lipstick...definite 90s!

Also remember that boots shampoo!! And a fair few others x

Waxlyrically · 16/11/2019 21:44

Loads of these but also

Harmony hair dye (in little triangle shaped boxes)
Country born hair gel ( bright green I think)
Sun silk or was it cream silk conditioner
Foam twisty rollers for hair
Boots rosemary shampoo for brunettes
Original poison perfume

wannabebetter · 16/11/2019 21:44

Flex shampoo still here!! Just googled (I loved it) and can get on amazon - excited!!Grin

Geppili · 16/11/2019 21:46

Is that the Flex which smells of green apples? I also loved the Vidal Sassoon shampoo which smelled of almonds.

Woodleigh Green apple shampoo (and there was a soap)

I would kill to get my hands on a bottle, if I close my eyes I can still smell it, Devine.

Years ago there was a body lotion that supposedly got rid of cellulite, load of nonsense but it smelled amazing. I think it was made Christian Dior but I’m not sure.

babysnowman · 16/11/2019 21:51

Boots 'blondie' lipstick
Hair toner that came in a silver and pink foil packet, can't remember the name
Organics shampoo & conditioner - amazing, don't know why the stopped making it
Body shop white musk
Lancôme juicy tubes

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 16/11/2019 21:54

Lemon Drench cologne

shrumps · 16/11/2019 22:04

Number 17 Blondie Lipstick. Way too pale for me but I stayed with it. Also everyone in my year at school practically bathed in Poison or Anais Anais perfume.

GreatBritishbakeofffan · 16/11/2019 22:04

Charlie body spray
Body shops lip balms in kiwi, cherry and strawberry and brown/peachy lip liner that everyone in high school wore! I think it must have been advertised in just seventeen GrinDewberry and white musk sprays too!
Heather simmer lipstick

userxx · 16/11/2019 22:09

Constance Carroll frosted lipstick.

lemonadeparade · 16/11/2019 22:10

Bath pearls and herbal essences rose hips and jojoba shampoo!

Almahart · 16/11/2019 22:11

Oh I loved Flex.

I still miss the smell of the Body Shop hair salad too.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 16/11/2019 22:12

@shrumps yes! Blondie I'd forgotten all about that really takes me back

PrincessHoneysuckle · 16/11/2019 22:13

@Waxlyriccally I've just recently bought my first bottle of Poison, love it

Dirtyjellycat · 16/11/2019 22:17

Ruby and Millie makeup - I was gutted when it disappeared.

wishuponarainbow · 16/11/2019 22:22

Benetton perfume in the hexagon/octagon (can't remember which) shaped bottle

NameChange84 · 16/11/2019 22:22

Things that transport me to senior school in the late 90s and early 00s;

Juicy Tubes! I loved them

The original Blue Charlie Body Spray

So! Exclamation!

Bit earlier but I loved Ananya from Body Shop and Can't remember what it smelled like.

My friend bought me a little tin of sparkly talc from Lush...Candy Fluff I think. It smelled a bit like Snow Fairy but better...it was amazing. I kept it in my underwear drawer and it smelled amazing. La Senza also used to put gorgeous smelling perfumed beads in with your purchases.

Loreal Glow Lights foundation and powder. My face looked like a disco ball.

The original Herbal Essences shampoos. A chamomile one, it smelled gorgeous.

I loved Hair Mascara.

Also...not discontinued but just the general whiff of astringent horrible skin care, Clearisil, Biore, Neutrogena Clear Skin. And loads and loads of Tea Tree Oil products.

WeeM · 16/11/2019 22:26

God I remember so many of these. I loved going to the Body shop and smelling all the scents in the glass bottles on the display thing, dewberry was amazing! And those bath pearls that left a wee bit of slimy gunk in the bath Grin.
Also loved exclamation and So! perfume...we thought we were so classy.
Oh and Barry M dazzle dust, what a bloody mess it made. When I look at it now I have fond memories.

youllhavehadyourtea · 16/11/2019 22:31

Shaders and Toners...sachets of red wash out dye for blonde and brunette hair.

Every option just delivered the same disappointing non-glamourous result, despite serious analysing of each shade, timings and my mousy brown teenage hair.

Thedevilofsmallthings · 16/11/2019 22:32

Bath cubes and pine scented everything.

Also a face cream my grandma used, I think it was called 'Cremola' but I googled and that was a sort of fizzy drink. It was a Boots product but I can't remember much more.

WhatchaMaCalllit · 16/11/2019 22:33

4-7-11 Perfume
Anais Anais perfume

There was a brand of makeup (think it was either 17 or No.7) that the foundation came in a metallic silver can and when you sprayed it out onto your sponge to apply, it came out like a mousse. Went on and wore really well but it was definitely something from the 1990's.

Loved Woodleigh Green Apple shampoo as it got my hair squeaky clean with no residue!

Ah....the good old days where manufacturing of these products came with E-Numbers (probably) and so many chemicals (also probably) Grin

Iamthewombat · 16/11/2019 22:33

I am using Anne French just now. It is brilliant when I can’t be fagged with the balm cleanser/flannel thing. Anne French cleans everything off brilliantly. I remember an assistant in Boots recommending it to my mum when I was 13 and starting to get spots. Mum was looking for some cleanser etc. for me, and the lady in Boots said, ‘Don’t bother with any of the others. This one is the best.”. She was right!
