Thank you Queen and thank you Curly for pics from book .

Another loving WineorGin's "the man is the head of the household but the woman is the neck & she can turn that head any way she wants".

AppleKatie · 29/10/2019 16:36

Thanks for the new thread 😊

itswinetime · 29/10/2019 16:37

A friend of a friend (so not that reliable I know) works royal protection....they said that the brothers couldn't be in the same car recently so I doubt an 11hr flight then a lads weekend is on the cards. Of course that is nothing but word of mouth.

Thanks for the new thread though Angela Kelly's book definitely looks worth a look.

peridito · 29/10/2019 16:42

Maybe there's intelligence of a plot to take them both out so they can't travel together .

WineOrGinOrBoth · 29/10/2019 16:44

I knew you ladies would like the saying Grin

That’s very sad if it’s true @itswinetime

peridito · 29/10/2019 16:50

Not about style but we're a bit short of clothes to comment on and I thought interesting
A group of female Labour MPs, including Holly Lynch, have written to the Duchess of Sussex expressing "solidarity with you in taking a stand against the often distasteful and misleading nature of the stories printed in a number of our national newspapers concerning you, your character and your family".

"On occasions, stories and headlines have represented an invasion of your privacy and have sought to cast aspersion about your character.

"Even more concerning still, we are calling out what can only be described as outdated, colonial undertones to some of these stories.

"We will use the means at our disposal to ensure that our press accept your right to privacy and show respect, and that their stories reflect the truth."

escapade1234 · 29/10/2019 16:53

Good grief. What a load of brown-nosing.

escapade1234 · 29/10/2019 16:53

Reads like a prayer!

AppleKatie · 29/10/2019 17:01

Wow quite a statement.

BlingLoving · 29/10/2019 17:04

"brown-nosing"? Or a bunch of women who have most likely all experienced similar levels of misogyny and attacks from the public and the press expressing their support? The wording is a bit OTT but the sentiment is pretty good as far as I'm concerned.

peridito · 29/10/2019 17:04

I'm sorry ,I didn't want to start a row .I'm not feeling at all well today and just thought I'd share it .Stupid of me because now everyone is going to start sniping at each other Sad Sad

BlingLoving · 29/10/2019 17:13

Peridito - it was perfectly reasonable to post it here it's right up the line in the idea of light gossip. Hope you feel better.

TSSDNCOP · 29/10/2019 17:21

HM’s cupboard looks like a Pantone chart Grin

QueenOfTheAndals · 29/10/2019 17:28

Don't worry @peridito, perfectly reasonable to post it and hope you feel better soon. The signatories include Jess Phillips, Diane Abbott and Stella Creasy, who know a thing or two about being the targets of misogyny and/or racism.

Here's Max in a velvet top and trousers that only she could carry off and what looks a maternity coats from the 1950s that even she can't make work. Poland's First Lady looks fabulous though.

I love that velvet top of Max's but then I'm a sucker for velvet. I've just splurged on a very autumnal velvet dress from Brora - though it was reduced, thankfully.

Thanks for the new thread as ever, Queen.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/10/2019 19:05

Max = Call the Midwife

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/10/2019 19:06

Sophie’s skirt this evening... 🤦‍♀️

Royal style: it's leather skirt season!
DevonUkelele · 29/10/2019 19:23

Sophie has those unfortunate misplaced-nipple tucks happening there @Curly 🤷‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️.

Pretty sewing pattern on the skirt though.

AppleKatie · 29/10/2019 19:23

Funny isn’t it, Max’s outfit makes her look 10ft tall, Sophie’s ...not so much.

StartupRepair · 29/10/2019 19:24

Think I'll buy the Angela Kelly book for my mother for Christmas. Love that photo of the Queen with hands in pockets.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 29/10/2019 20:04

Just read the bit about remaking the Royal christening robe.
The new one is miles bigger and dyed in Yorkshire tea to get the colour.

Apparently; the original has never been washed, just spot cleaned with water. ( no wonder it was getting a bit manky!)

BeaBravo · 29/10/2019 20:07

I think she runs the show actually. She's deferential to him and very sensitive to his moods, but she is no fool and she's the one who calls the shots I suspect

I've thought that for a while. I'm a republican but find Kate fascinating; she's so self assured and self contained.

I bet every night the Queen offers up a prayer "Thank you Heavenly Father for Catherine, she'll make sure these fuckwits don't cock it up when one is gorn"
Grin

BertrandRussell · 29/10/2019 20:09

I’d so love to to do the ladies maid stuff - this putting the jewels on the tiaras, making the christening gowns.

RomaineCalm · 29/10/2019 20:12

Thank you for he new thread Queen and that's a fab picture of HM Curly.
