Very daring to wear these?

So recently I’ve lost a bit of weight, have been working really hard at the gym and am feeling better about myself for the first time in a long time. I’m going for a night out on Saturday for drinks and was wondering if these leggings would be ridiculous to wear?

If you saw someone out in these would you think they are ott? I think they are okay for me age wise, just worried I might get a few looks Hmm and they might make me look cheap

Oh here they are. I’m in my 40s

Very daring to wear these?

Mumsnet seems like such an odd place for a 24 year old to come to discuss fashion.Confused

You're getting exactly the sort of response I'd expect from a load of Mums - and I say this as someone who agrees with most on this thread. They're grim.

We think they're grim because, for the most part, we're older than you.

And the fact that 'men love them' is really not sweetening the deal, IMO.

Sagradafamiliar · 20/10/2019 07:30

Age or being a mother doesn't come into it. There are loads of mums here in their 20s, we also know there are loads of users who don't have children.
I just commented on the style question.

RainWoman19 · 20/10/2019 07:49

Cant believe the negativity on here. Ffs OP..do you like them?? If you do then wear them. They are not daring imo but I like them and would wear them. Well done on your weight loss also. If you consider other peoples opinions on clothing then youl never wear what you like..just go for it!

RedElephants · 20/10/2019 08:22

I agree with RainWoman19,
Your 24, just buy and wear them..

For what it's worth Im an old (53) married lady, my kids are 18 and 21, I have a pair of coated jeans Blush
I love them Wink

OooErMissus · 20/10/2019 08:24

When I was 24, there was absolutely no way I'd have come on somewhere like here and expected to get feedback that was of any relevance to me, as a 20-something, whatsoever.

AliciaQuays · 20/10/2019 08:25

He he. It was a fun night What can I say? 🔥

Benjispruce · 20/10/2019 08:27

Ha ha good for you op!Grin

cultkid · 20/10/2019 08:27

Love them

AgathaTheAardvark · 20/10/2019 08:34

@OooErMissus

Yep! I thought the same. It is a bit unexpected. And the "they seemed to be getting a lot of attention from men" comment is really bizarre, especially considering the op is a happily married 24 yo.

OooErMissus · 20/10/2019 08:40

Thanks @AgathaTheAardvark - thought it was just me! Confused

CountFosco · 20/10/2019 09:06

I'm old enough to be your mother and am now remembering all the crazy things I wore to go out in my 20s. I have so many happy memories of those clothes. And my friends, one had a black catsuit and she looked truly incredible. This is what your youth is for. You are 24 and a size 8. Wear whatever crazy thing you want (except those nude leggings, that's a step too far!) and love it and enjoy it.

Lamentations · 20/10/2019 10:02

I was going to say no until your update about being 24 and size 8, in which case you will look great in anything so absolutely go for it. Life is short.

Trills · 20/10/2019 10:14

We are going out in London so didn’t think I would get many looks seeing as it’s such a diverse place fashion wise

This is 100% true. Nobody will look at you as if you are wearing something "wrong" or "weird".

DianneWhatcock · 20/10/2019 10:18

I actually love them OP

But I think they'd need to be dressed down. I think a baggy grey knitted jumper and simple white trainers for example white air max or something

DianneWhatcock · 20/10/2019 10:20

Oh and I've just seen your 24 and a size 8! Go for it op I bet you're bloody gorgeous and will look edgy and awesome in them

TurnTheHeatingOn · 20/10/2019 10:23

OP well done on the weight loss! Honestly bloody well done! The trousers are certainly daring but I wouldn't really think anything of them on a night out! I would definitely find a cheaper pair though Smile

Inthemoment38 · 20/10/2019 10:41

Definitely wear whatever makes you feel great.
If I saw you in those trousers my first thought would be, I bet she gets thrush from them

AliciaQuays · 20/10/2019 10:45

Speak for yourself ! Confused

Ellapaella · 20/10/2019 11:36

@AliciaQuays I think yours look great 👌

AliciaQuays · 20/10/2019 12:02

Thank you. Was quite Nervous

SameStory · 20/10/2019 14:23

Nervous with a capital N? You must have been nervous!

AliciaQuays · 20/10/2019 14:37

lol. That’s funny

applesandacorns · 20/10/2019 15:11

I'm not a fan of the high-shine look, but faux-leather leggings are nice. H&M has some nice ones.

GeorgianaDovesHouse · 20/10/2019 15:13

No.
