Very daring to wear these?

So recently I’ve lost a bit of weight, have been working really hard at the gym and am feeling better about myself for the first time in a long time. I’m going for a night out on Saturday for drinks and was wondering if these leggings would be ridiculous to wear?

If you saw someone out in these would you think they are ott? I think they are okay for me age wise, just worried I might get a few looks Hmm and they might make me look cheap

I think they look disgusting, and as for the price Shock , I might wear a cheap pair if I was going to some weird fetish fancy dress party...

HappyHarlot · 19/10/2019 20:17

TBH, you'd have to have a pretty amazing arse to get away with these which I most definitely do not have. I know you've done brilliantly to lose all that weight, but are you toned?

ZenNudist · 19/10/2019 20:17

By all means if young and skinny go for it but you need clumpy boots and a boxy top to avoid looking like you are wearing half a catwoman costume.

Faux leather better i think.

LittleSweet · 19/10/2019 20:18

They are very Dolly Parton. 'It takes a lot of money to look this cheap.'

LittleSweet · 19/10/2019 20:20

I went back to look at the nude ones. They are hilarious.

Savingforarainyday · 19/10/2019 20:22

Personally I hate them, but you're only 24, and teeny.

Enjoy!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/10/2019 20:22

Maybe look at somewhere like Topshop or River Island.

youcanthandlethetruth · 19/10/2019 20:23

I’m quite surprised. I get where some of the opinions are coming from but if you honestly were stood beside the model in a bar would you think she looked awful in them? Granted I’m not a model but I do think it’s possible to pull the outfit off

If you think you can pull them off confidently, then wear them.

Pros: they're waterproof, so if it rains you're sorted

Cons: you will be very sweaty underneath.

If you're loaded, then go for them, if not I'm sure there must be cheaper ones around.

Lhastingsmua · 19/10/2019 20:24

I think they’d look nice with:

  • a black sweatshirt/jumper (either longline or tucked in) and white trainers
  • a cropped bralet/lace body when going out out
  • a nice structured black blazer (buttons closed on jacket) and heeled ankle boots with a pointed toe

I wouldn’t spend £100 on them though.

NuffingChora · 19/10/2019 20:24

I love them, thefashionbugblog on Instagram wears these all the time and looks like a freaking rockstar. Admittedly she usually styles them casually however. For a night out, depending how dressy the venue is, I’d either go pointed stilettos and then very low key and understated with the top (round neck loose fit cotton shirt and a bigger necklace, for example), or the same but with white trainers. This sort of idea..

Oh and for what it’s worth, at a similar price point, the Spanx ones are infinitely flattering and wearable, but not as shiny.

Lucked · 19/10/2019 20:27

The one in the pictures above just look like leather - not patent.

Lhastingsmua · 19/10/2019 20:27

I don’t think they’re daring or shocking - I see plenty of outfits on Instagram! And in real life, where they’re styled more casually.

If going clubbing wearing these, wear either Perspex heels or black strappy/lace up heels eg Topshop Nico heels

raspberryk · 19/10/2019 20:27

Yes they look terrible, cheap and nasty even on the model, even if she was standing in a bar. Cant imagine these are wearable unless you like the camel toe look.

Good suggestions with the less shiny more leather look ones, they may work.

raspberryk · 19/10/2019 20:29

Oh yes perspex heels and PVC leggings ... way to look like a cheap hooker! Perfect.

DontCallMeShitley · 19/10/2019 20:30

Dorian from 'Birds of a Feather' would have worn those. Or Miss Whiplash.

EdWinchester · 19/10/2019 20:31

they definitely got a lot of attention from men

Not the sort of attention you'd want. They probably looked like hookers.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 19/10/2019 20:34

And why would you want a 'lot of attention from men'?

youcanthandlethetruth · 19/10/2019 20:34

What about with a baggy white jumper

Very daring to wear these?

Lhastingsmua · 19/10/2019 20:34

@raspberryk I can only assume that you’re part of an older generation because that outfit would be absolutely normal for someone my age (early 20s) going clubbing! Such looks are all over Instagram and already worn in real life - if you’re young with a decent figure you can definitely pull it off without looking like “a hooker”

youcanthandlethetruth · 19/10/2019 20:35

I don’t, I’m just going for a night out and letting my hair down. I’ve spent the last few years struggling with my weight. I’d like to feel good on a night out and be able to wear something I never thought I could

OP posts:
Redspider1 · 19/10/2019 20:36

If your legs are like those in the photo, go for it. If not, I wouldn’t.

Nixee2231 · 19/10/2019 20:37

I think you should wear whatever makes you happy. What people think of what you're wearing on a night out is realistically not going to make any difference in your life whatsoever. (Unlike, say, a job interview) We are on this planet a short second, why waste it worrying about what people think of what we wear? When in reality we forget most people we see and judge after 5min?

raspberryk · 19/10/2019 20:38

I guess I must be old, I am early 30's and @EdWinchester is agreeing with me so they must be old too Wink. Definitely no kind of attention I would ever want to be in receipt of.
