I feel quite sorry for PC when he has to attend occasions with other European royalties. He is much older than the various Kings and Queens and probably has to defer to the younger ones. At his age some Monarchs had already retired and handed over the reins to younger heirs. He must wonder sometimes if he will ever be the king.

AppleKatie · 25/10/2019 08:58

I wonder if he’s got to the point that it’s more of a looming burden than an honour.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2019 09:00

Who's the youngest current monarch? I think it must be the king of Bhutan?

Charles might've made for an interesting monarch 10-20 years ago but I suspect he'd prefer to be left to tend his garden now.

And she's back.......Samantha Markle is on tv talking about Meghan again.

queenofarles · 25/10/2019 09:03

Curly I watched a bit , it was actually good,

That’s Kate hairdo alright, I read that the security kept s asking people not to take photos, it must be really intrusive.

Blingandrings · 25/10/2019 09:09

I have never heard anything about a miscarriage. Diana certainly never mentioned it herself. I think this is wrong information.

BertrandRussell · 25/10/2019 09:11

“ read that the security kept s asking people not to take photos,”

Surely not! Grin

BlingLoving · 25/10/2019 09:11

@frugalkitty - what is she saying? For pete's sake.

I saw that Marina Hyde piece earlier as well. It's brilliant. So many comments about libel and that's supposedly why the Andrew thing hasn't received the lurid headlines and speculation that Meghan and Harry get just for living near a car park.... The media really are despicable. And if the person in William and Kate's team who is making it worse is doing it with their agreement, that's even worse. *

Not sure about the grey on Leti? Her hair? I didn't see any in that picture.

*I once had a boss who was a big fan of negative briefing to distract from issues happening at our own organisation. It got so bad that shortly before I left, the CEO and CFO had separate comms teams, both briefing against each other. It was horrendous and disgusting. Incidentally, the company involved is on the brink of collapse now....

latedecember1963 · 25/10/2019 09:11

I watched the Charles Duchy programme last night. There seemed to be a lot of respect/affection for him. I thought he came across well.

Blingandrings · 25/10/2019 09:19

I found it all cringeworthy. Creating a lovely chocolate box town to be his special toy, where he is the landlord. Owning huge swathes of the SW to be his own plaything, where forelock tugging farmers are ever so grateful milord for his patronage.
The scene where Lady thingy comes round to patronise the farmer's wife was just awful. It all smacks of feudal England several hundred years ago. Which is what PC feels comfortable with.
I recognise he's done a lot of good with his charities, and the organic farming initiative is great. Though they did say only some of the farms are organic! Generating huge profits to keep himself and his family living in luxury. Some of the profits go to charity, but what proportion I wonder?
I found all the deference and sycophancy quite nauseating really.

This land was given to a previous king as a toy for his son. This is land that should belong to the people.

Blingandrings · 25/10/2019 09:22

Some of the farms are not organic

frugalkitty · 25/10/2019 09:29

Bling she's called Meghan a hypocrite for not asking if her Dad was ok after his heart attacks. She was interviewed on American tv after the documentary.

BlingLoving · 25/10/2019 09:39

@frugalkitty - aaah, so nothing new then? I find the way people act like she is the baddy with her dad, and that the palace has handled it badly incomprehensible. My dad and I had our issues in the past, but I always knew he had my back. Always. Poor meghan clearly doesn't have the same advantage.

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 25/10/2019 10:16

I wonder if Samantha Markle's book is due to come out for Christmas? That might explain the interview. I do pity Meghan for her shitty family. I just wish she hadn't joined them (however tenuously) to our royal one.

queenofarles · 25/10/2019 10:54

Did someone watch the Inside edition programme? I’m quite surprised that Samantha is on US TV.

DevonUkelele · 25/10/2019 10:59

I have been having a small rest from this thread... but induced to break it for Meghan recreating her Ireland green leather skirt and top triumph p, but in a beautiful autumnal burgundy/maroon/cherry/berry. Whatever - she's ace today!

DevonUkelele · 25/10/2019 11:00

Eek.., pic would help, wouldn't it?!. There aren't"0't many as all links seems to lead back to the DM and we do try to avoid those. But god was available.

DevonUkelele · 25/10/2019 11:01

Having burst out of retirement, I am now hogging the thread to apologise for many, many typos. Hoping you can all translate 🤦🏼‍♀️

hopeishere · 25/10/2019 11:02

Meghan looks lovely. Harry's suit is horrible.

itswinetime · 25/10/2019 11:08

Meghan looks lovely! 2-piece outfits are a strong look for her. I'm not quiet sure why they work so well when the belted dresses don't like quite right. But this is lovely the colour is fab on her to very autumnal.

purplepalace · 25/10/2019 11:08

And she's back.......Samantha Markle is on tv talking about Meghan again.

That pathetic woman who changed her surname to 'Markle' after M&H got engaged. She's such a joke and embarrassment!

Gooseysgirl · 25/10/2019 11:08

I think she looks fantastic! Sweater tucked in leather skirt.. so on trend; gorgeous colours on her!

purplepalace · 25/10/2019 11:10

I agree Harry needs a little style help (his suit looks like it's from primark) luckily nobody's looking at him because she's glowing today, her outfit is fantastic.

queenofarles · 25/10/2019 11:14

Oh yes , Meghan looks great , what a difference good fitted clothes make.

But that poofy updo is a tad too high.
