I thought Charles never actually stopped seeing Camilla, right through his and Diana's engagement & marriage?

Northernlurker · 24/10/2019 21:38

The usual consensus is the chaz/cam shagging stopped at the royal wedding and restarted post birth of Harry. The Diana shagging likewise wasn't a thing till that point of marital breakdown. The chaz/cam closeness and emotional affair probably never stopped. And that was part of the problem but not all of it.

There have been rumours about the stability of the Danish marriage but frankly there's rumours about every marriage. The only ones I believe are the Monaco marriage which is clearly a marriage Chernobyl.

Blingandrings · 24/10/2019 22:23

There is a documentary on Netflix I think called Diana in her own words in which Diana talks throughout about her courtship , marriage etc for those who don't know.

ElspethFlashman · 24/10/2019 22:42

C+C started up again in 86. Barry Mannakee was transferred that year. Diana later said she'd been deeply in love with him. It was all so messed up from fairly early on.

I think everyone agrees nobody did anything before Harry was born. She was pregnant before that too, she had three pregnancies but miscarried one, so there was a lot going on.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 24/10/2019 22:47

How do you know she had a miscarriage @elspeth

ElspethFlashman · 24/10/2019 22:57

BP announced it.

Sept 83. But the tabloids had caught her coming out of her gynaes offices a couple of times in the previous weeks so the cat was out of the bag prior.

A week later she went to Balmoral and it happened there.

It's wierd cos nobody talks about it. Harry was conceived pretty quickly afterwards so I guess that blotted it out.

MrsGrindah · 24/10/2019 23:00

Er..I don’t think this is the right thread for your survey.....

MrsGrindah · 24/10/2019 23:01

When did BP announce a miscarriage? I have honestly never heard that before. Surely it would have been all over the press? Do you have a copy?

Lunde · 24/10/2019 23:06

BP had announced the pregnancy in September 1983 but she miscarried a week later. However she conceived Harry a few months later as he was born 12 months after the miscarriage.

Hmmm I’ve just delved into parts of the internet I didn’t know existed to try and find out about this. God knows why I care at 11pm on a Thursday but here we are Grin

I can’t find anything concrete- seems a rumour?

I googled , first thing to come up was Baby buried in Diana’s Garden, total click bait , but it freaked me out!
She miscarried in Balmoral , so August -sep 83 and was pregnant again in December ? Short time to get over a miscarry.

Northernlurker · 24/10/2019 23:20

I don't think there was an announced pregnancy. It's one of those things, easily said, impossible to prove.

ElspethFlashman · 24/10/2019 23:32

This is a cute picture of a little boy touching her tummy and asking her if it was true. Sept 83.

I love rare photos. All the really rare ones are on Pinterest. I even found one of that same month at the Braemar Games of C+D being all touchy feely, it's wierd! We're not used to it!

Poor Diana. So young. Sent so nuts - read way too many Barbara Cartlands and behaved like a very young woman (which of course she was) in the wrong marriage. Didn’t she say that during her pregnancy with Harry she and Charles were really happy? And I think she also said post separation he was very supportive and kind about press intrusion. At the time of her death she was very much on speaking terms and they were very amicable with each other which is why he was so devastated by her death. She wasn’t a woman he was rowing with, they were coparenting really genuinely well and she had matured and they got on as adults. He advised her on paparazzi and she said how awful it was and he made calls to try and stop It, In stark contrast to when they got engaged and she was stalked by photographers but wouldn’t tell him in stiff upper lip world while he said “my friends get stalked by the press, poor Camilla has to fight them off”. The saddest thing is that as not man and wife, they got on really well. And had been for ages.

ElspethFlashman · 25/10/2019 00:07

Yeah there are photos of them greeting each other with affection for a good year before her death, if not longer. I had them at one time but deleted them.

mathanxiety · 25/10/2019 05:12

One of my DDs gave me the Jo Malone Bluebell perfume for my b-day in 2018. I love it.

Love Letizia's €339 floral dress posted.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 25/10/2019 08:30

No photos, but apparently Kate was spotted in Sainsbury’s buying Halloween costumes with George and Charlotte.

Also, did anyone watch the Prince Charles documentary?
I missed it; going to watch on catchup.

AngelaScandal · 25/10/2019 08:33

@QueenOfTheAndals your sari is just glorious.

I was struck at just how old Charles looked in the Japan photo montage. I wonder if he will ever actually be king? Imagine being prepped for a job too ur whole life and never fulfilling it.

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2019 08:38

One photo but it could be anyone really.

Thanks @Boscoismyspiritanimal!

Agree re Charles, he looks roughly the same age as his mother now! My own father is only a year younger but looks nowhere near as old.

I think that article says more about Kathy Whittaker, 54, mother-of-four than it does about Kate Cambridge, 37, mother-of-three 🙄

QueenOfTheAndals · 25/10/2019 08:53

I thought so too! All this falling over to talk about how normal and relatable she must be 🙄
