HM at Ascot... lovely colour on her, but AK is doing weird things again with the collar/buttoning of the coat

That wedding dress is rather nice, unusual without being too OTT.

Bea's shoes are nice but are too harsh with the colours of her outfit, imo.

ThisYearHasGotToBeBetter · 19/10/2019 16:36

I like Bea's outfit - but think it works with either the shoes or the coat.
Later without the coat and hat the shoes will look great!

WillowySnicket · 19/10/2019 18:01

I can't get past bea's hat poking him in the ear and him looking a bit pissed off about it!

Twisique · 19/10/2019 18:11

Her raincoat and his waist coat match very well. I wonder whose idea it was? I really like her shoes.

QueenOfTheAndals · 19/10/2019 18:32

The Mail need new researchers. That's not Marie-Chantal, it's her daughter!

(Either that or it's one hell of a facelift...)

Great news Twisique they're cheap as chips in the sale! They're the Kurt Gieger Lulu and I have them bookmarked for a while, I just don't need them at all! 😭

AngelaScandal · 19/10/2019 19:49

that’s a lot of blonde greek insta-princesses in that last pic

paradyning · 19/10/2019 20:46

I thought she looked a bit weird Queen!

justasking111 · 19/10/2019 21:21

The queen has either lost some weight lately or her dresser is losing the magic touch. I have seen a few outfits recently that appear to swamp her, too much fabric across the shoulders and down the arms. Most odd.

pastaparadise · 19/10/2019 21:27

I read in that last link that the original Napoleon married Marie Louise 'by proxy' - imagine being married off to someone who didnt even bother turning up?

So is the man getting married actually royal? I noticed he has Prince in his name...

Loved the dress. I usually prefer plain and simple but that looked lovely and unusual. Thw bodice looked a bit saggy under the cape, but beautiful a part from that.

AliasGrape · 19/10/2019 21:43

Not at all a fan of Bea’s outfit there and I’m usually very easy to please. Thought the wedding dress - particularly the skirt - was lovely.

AppleKatie · 19/10/2019 21:47

I fear the former. It happens to very elderly people I think, a steady decline of weight. Sad

AdaColeman · 19/10/2019 22:50

Countess Olympia's wedding dress was by Oscar de la Renta. I thought the fabric was very similar to the Nonoo wedding dress in Rome not long ago, though there it was used more as an overlay. I wonder if Bea will opt for something similar.

Surely Bea's Top Shop mac over the expensive silk frock was an unplanned emergency decision?

paradyning · 19/10/2019 23:22

Who was asking if Anne goes abroad? She's in Japan with TL and had a meeting with the Emperor!

Nice tiara at the Napoleonic wedding.

ElspethFlashman · 19/10/2019 23:36

No, she wore that coat to some church services with the Queen a couple of years ago so its definitely considered fancy enough. I remember cos everyone was excited that it was TopShop - she had it pressed very well and it looked more expensive than it was.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/10/2019 04:17

Just catching up.
Loved the bride’s jewellery at the Paris wedding, especially her bandeau tiara. The shape of the dress was pretty but the overscale designer was not to my taste.
The bridesmaids’ little white outfits show it was a vair posh wedding.
And did anyone catch Maria Olympia’s shoes?

( The insta blondes are the grooms stepmother and half sisters)

Very flattering summary of the Cambridge tour of Pakistan
Apparently it was 6 months in the planning; but a diplomatic triumph!

Spudlet · 20/10/2019 08:12

The journalist did really want to push the family rift angle in that piece, didn’t they? I mean, who knows what’s going on there really, but there was some stirring in among the treacle there.

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/10/2019 08:23

I thought it veered towards the sycophantic with talk of William appearing "increasingly statesmanlike" when he visited the girls' school. Is he??

It was me @paradyning - thank you for that! My Japanese is not quite up to that link but I found a good pic of Princess Anne from the Express which I can’t save or post for some reason - I guess she’s there for the rugby? I like her top! It suits her.

Spudlet · 20/10/2019 08:39

Well, indeed Queen!

Not that it didn’t seem to be a successful tour, it certainly did and well done to them for that. But I would argue that H&Ms also seemed successful. This seems like a piece ladling praise onto the Cambridges in order to stick the boot into the Sussexes, based on spite because of the legal action.
