She's a fashion designer, she does the white shirt in Meghan's Smart Works capsule wardrobe.

She's Meghan's friend and she marries someone very very rich.

Sooverthemill · 20/09/2019 09:23

@StCharlotte she also designed the shirt Meghan wore at the Invictus Games where they first came out in the open as a couple. daily Mail made much of the fact it was the 'husband' style ( so a relaxed, boyfriend style but you know the daily mail). She is also the reputed match maker between Harry and Meghan

queenofarles · 20/09/2019 09:27

Can’t believe she is only 31! Thought she is closer to MM age,
Didn’t Pippa go out with Mishas ex’s brother? Or am I confusing him to someone else?

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/09/2019 09:33

I assumed she was Meghan's age too @queenofarles!

Kate's trousers yesterday were from Zara.

She was married to a mate of Harry’s apparently.

Or I might be imagining that.

ThingsImighthavedone · 20/09/2019 09:56

Great to see Kate wearing High Street. I get so sick of all the designer labels.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/09/2019 10:02

She was married to a mate of Harry’s apparently.

Correct. He was also Eugenie’s boss at paddle8 auction house in NY.
And his brother went out with Pippa. They’re good friends with the Middleton’s

I just read that Pippa went with both brothers Confused.
He is very well connected and obv worked really hard. went to Eton, shareholder of Phillips Auction house , founder of Peddle8.

I’ve been meaning to ask this, is Misha’s brand well known? Forget the association with MM and the famous shirt.
I’ve never seen her clothes anywhere, not in London or NY. Actually I’ve never seen anyone talk about her shirts, not even after MM wore them.

BertrandRussell · 20/09/2019 10:42

I always think that the wearing high street is hugely problematic. They are absurdly rich- why is them wearing 30 quid trousers from Zara anything but a ridiculous and patronising gesture? They haven’t looked at them and thought “Oh, those are the very best half mast trousers available!”

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 20/09/2019 10:56

I don’t think it’s patronising and ridiculous. Kate is very often photographed in high street dresses when she’s out and about with the children. She doesn’t seem too much into high fashion, and her clothes seem to be what she is wearing anyway, without them being a concession to the tabloids. —and us, the public—

All the Breton tips and skinny jeans is what every middle class mother might wearing everyday.

queenofarles · 20/09/2019 11:00

Bertrand , Kate didn’t just start wearing High street, she’s been wearing them for years. She rewears a lot of it, so it’s not just a one time purchase to make the average person feel better about themselves and then throws away.

Some people like to have a selection of cheap and expensive clothes for work.
I haven’t seen Kate wearing expensive designer trousers really,
What was the brand of her other black wide leg trousers she wore with the Gucci blouse? LKB?

BertrandRussell · 20/09/2019 11:13

As I said, fair enough. I suppose it’s all part of the “Oh, they are just like us” idiocy that people come out with. If we have to have a monarchy, I want to see glorious frocks and fabulous jewels, and I don’t understand why they get praised for occasionally wearing high street.

BertrandRussell · 20/09/2019 11:14

Ditto “rewears”. Why is that even a “thing”?

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 20/09/2019 11:22

I agree about rewear, it gets my goat.

The high street is ok with me, they wear enough glamorous frocks for official engagements anyway.

queenofarles · 20/09/2019 11:37

But bertrand we are not in the 1920s or 1930s anymore ! I don’t want to see Kate or Meghan wearing a frock and a tiara and pearls for a charity visit.

Rewear is not a thing, But maybe compared to Diana, the Queen, Camila maybe too? They don’t/didn’t rewear their clothes that much if not at all.

So for Kate to rewear clothes it must have been a big thing royalty wise.

BertrandRussell · 20/09/2019 11:41

“But bertrand we are not in the 1920s or 1930s anymore !”
I know- that’s why I don’t understand why we still have them! Grin
They don’t have to wear a tiara and pearls- but maybe a young designer? There are plenty of them. I just don’t care for the “ooh, look! Zara! What a woman of the people!” trope.

queenofarles · 20/09/2019 11:52

Gosh it’s too early to argue, Hmm
Maybe do a bit of research , they both have worn plenty of young designer clothes for various functions, Kate wore Eponine ,
Think MM has worn Safyiaa a couple of times.

BertrandRussell · 20/09/2019 12:16

Sorry- I didn’t think it was a argument!

DevonUkelele · 20/09/2019 13:16

*I like 'trews' myself.
*
Me too @mathanxiety. Ditto "strides", though they are much more obviously for the menfolk. Wink

@Queen, I gotta say it, I didn't think you'd get your fresh weekend thread. It's filled up PDQ in the past 24 hours. But it is officially the weekend Down Under, so I hope you have a nice new celeb wedding/redemption tour*/wide-legged trew title in mind for Saturday.

*officially heard the dual DOS South African tour labelled as such on my work travels today.
