Oh my word, she’s thin....

I’ve been to charity fashion shows where the accepted word is ‘trouser’.

I don't mind "trouser" so much @UrsulaPandress but can't get on board with "jean"!

Love the spotty blouse! I must admit I don’t love her massive curls, they’re a bit all over the place!

Nice outfit on Kate but the trousers have fallen into the 'just look too short rather than cropped' category.

The waist is a) high and b) quite a wide waist band (is it a band? A style? Not really sure) that I think it does look odd to have it so slim fitting for a good few inches over her (insanely tiny) waist then wide legged. I think if the top had been a little less form fitting it might work better (and these are the kind of trousers I could see myself wearing with a top that covers the waistband on the basis that the band would totally help keep my tummy under control, flowing to a nice line down the leg....But she clearly doesn't need tummy control!)

As someone who uses her hands while talking, I need to defend her on this one. She's always done it.I don't think it's affected at all.

I rather like Kate's outfit today, I think it really suits her although I think black is a bit harsh on her. I much prefer the hand movement than the really awkward hand hold thing she did when she started out, that looked really odd.

I wave my hands a lot. I read somewhere once that it's a way of getting people to pay attention to you because the human eye follows movement. It was advised that you should be able to command attention without it but I still wave them. I doubt Kate is having any trouble holding people's attention though 😂. I think it's nicer than the super still older royal style.

There have been rumours of pregnancy again recently (and I got sucked into some thread on twitter where, I kid you not, women were talking about how they'd had visions of her pregnancies and all kinds of ridiculous things) so maybe this outfit is designed to scream, "CHECK out my tiny waist there's no baby here!!"

Kate's outfit is ok it's a bit to dark for me I prefer her in some colour particularly the jewel tones I use my hands when taking so I don't really notice! In fact I would probably think it was odd if they weren't moving!

I’ve accidentally knocked drinks out of people’s hands more than once by waving mine about too much when talking I can be shy with people I don’t know so I think I do it in case my verbal communication is lacking if that makes sense? The same with over the top facial expressions, which Kate seems to do as well.

When did people start using the ghastly word “pants”.

I don't know about "people", but in my case, as it is the prevailing usage in North America, from the time I could talk, which was many decades ago.

Not liking what Kate is wearing, something looks odd?... The shirt pockets makes it look too casual, while the trousers are short , bit of mash-up.
She is narrow but looks healthy , maybe she is happier and more confident being thin.

Hello just reported M&H are in Rome for Misha’s wedding sans The baby. How will the travel to Africa? Fly back for the baby? Or will the baby pick them up from Rome and fly to SA?

Sophie looks lovely in Kenya, really pretty dress and the chignon suits her. Here she is dancing!

Agree Kates trousers are too short, and they don’t look right with court shoes. I do like the blouse / pants combo in general on her.
For me, the difference between trousers and pants are: trousers are more tailored and pants are more flowy ( like palazzo pants ).

Looking forward to seeing the outfits at Misha’s wedding. Is she American, or marrying an American. Don’t they have a «rehearsal dinner» the night before and then a reception after the wedding.? Presume M&H will head back Saturday morning and head to SA on Sunday morning. ( it’s not like they live a long way from the airport)

It looks like these too short paper bag pants are now a thing amongst the Royal Ladies.
I have a vague recollection of this style in the 80s and I believe the rule is, if you wore it the first time around, you don’t wear it again!

I can't get on board with the paper-bag style trousers I'm afraid.

But unlike most of you, I like Kate's trousers today. I think the fit was good and they showed off her tiny waist. She looked smart and professional.
