I liked the DoC's outfit.
Any idea what the headmistress was wearing?

WithDropsOfJupiter · 05/09/2019 20:14

Hi long time lurker here! Just checking in and wanted to say I love this thread. I always enjoy reading what you all think. I quite like DoC's dress today.

EmGee · 05/09/2019 20:39

Thanks Queen - checking in and marking my place!

Wetdogloveshubert · 05/09/2019 21:15

Thanks @QueenOfTheAndals, I panicked when it said the last thread had been closed! Ditto most of today's comments; I liked Kate's outfit and styling today, despite it not being my thing at all. Max's dress was too short, and the black accessories are too much. The pics of George and Charlotte are lovely, though not a patch on my own 6yo starting year two Wink

ajandjjmum · 05/09/2019 21:23

Found you!

I thought what a lovely family they looked like today - I wonder if Charlotte gives her big brother confidence. DD always used to make friends with everyone, and her big brother then tagged along. DS makes his own friends now! Grin

BlingLoving · 05/09/2019 21:42

9am starting to worry that the little intimate moments between will and Kate aren't so prevalent any more.

Thanks for new thread!

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/09/2019 22:02

We might see a bit more on tour.
I think they are in that stage of life when they are busy and proud of their little family. They looked very happy on the Balcony when Louis was waving and clapping.

MotherofPearl · 05/09/2019 22:33

Thanks for the new thread @QueenOfTheAndals.

I thought the DoC looked great today - hair, shoes, skirt length, the lot. But I'm generally a fan of her style. She is always so polished, no matter what she wears.

AudacityOfHope · 05/09/2019 22:38

Thanks Queen, just checking in for now Smile

Rhubarbisevil · 05/09/2019 22:58

Fashion is back woo hoo..

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/09/2019 23:25

Did someone mention rumours of a state visit? We've had the Americans, French, Dutch and Spanish in recent years. Who's next?

Thanks Queen
It was a real ahh/aw so lovely moment seeing Charlotte's first day at school.
I wonder if she was as neat & tidy at the end of the school day or came home with tomato stains down her top, hair half in/half out of bobble, dirty knees etc.

This is the first year that my DD has not let me take a photo of her on here first day back at school.
DD said 'I'm far too old for that'. She's in Y8 Smile

thatone · 06/09/2019 06:39

I though DoC looked just lovely and so appropriate for the occasion.

UrsulaPandress · 06/09/2019 07:02

I loved that Charlotte's uniform looked as if it had been bought with room to grow into.

beanaseireann · 06/09/2019 07:03

Thank you for the new thread QueenoftheAndals.
Kate looked great. The children were lovely. A rare fail for Maxima, style wise.
Very interesting last post on the last thread.
A new poster ????

HangryPants · 06/09/2019 07:18

I didn’t like the last post on the previous thread.

Relurks

latedecember1963 · 06/09/2019 07:44

I felt uncomfortable reading the last post on the previous thread too, but it did give me pause for thought. It made me wonder if, as the mother of sons, I would be less likely to spot signs of controlling behaviour in a daughter in law than I would in a son in law.
The truth is, we can't possibly know what makes any relationship work. I dread to think what could be deduced about the state of my marriage as I'm sure there are plenty of times we've had grumpy faces in public and in private over the last 31 years! 😁

Alwayscheerful · 06/09/2019 07:45

The last comment on the previous thread is not in keeping with the general spirit of our chat. I am hoping the unpleasant comments will be lost there at the very end, hopefully it is not a journo trying to pull together an article for The Daily Fail.

QueenOfTheAndals · 06/09/2019 07:49

I thought it was overreaching and preposterous tbh, and agree with @Alwayscheerful that such speculation is best left off this thread.

CPM has raided Max's hat cupboard! She looks occasion-appropriate but I'm not sure she can carry off those wide brims as well as Max does. And when did CPF become SFCPF??

Mathilde in the ubiquitous asymmetric hemline. The colour is nice on her but, as is usually the case, the fit is slightly off. The second photo made me think for a moment that she'd made a very bold shoe choice. Then I realised it was those plastic bags you wear over your shoes when you go into a sterile area!

I thought the comment on the last thread was meant to be tongue in cheek, I didn't think it was intended seriously at all!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 06/09/2019 08:42

I see what you mean about the hat. It's too low down as though it's been jammed on, and is casting a dark shadow over her face. The straw coloured one in the link works better for her, I think.
