I really liked Kate's outfit today, especially her shoes.

Really like Kate's blouse. Have had my eye on a similar Boden one for ages.

Kate looks like she has borrowed the trousers of a much shorter and heavier woman.

It's similar to an outfit Lettie has worn in the past (the best dressed royal in general).

I don't think comparing looks is appropriate. There are different women, at different stages of their life and so on.

Comparing clothes is OK, I think. Personal comparisons, less so.

I’ve been to charity fashion shows where the accepted word is ‘trouser’.

And down here in Oz, where we are very uncouth, I have even heard "pant" used.

As in "... an on-trend cropped pant". I think even I might have tripped out at that one.

FWIW, I like the block-heeled shoes and the spotty blouse. I think her bottom-wear (!!) is neither one thing nor t'other, and therefore not flattering.

But did M and H fly commercial to Rome?? That is the question!

She's not royal, but I don't know who else might be interested in brooches other than this thread. Lady Hale (head of the Supreme Court) is a regular brooch wearer. Seemingly not as coded as HMQ, but perhaps...

I'd noticed Lady Hale's brooches too @Tablefor4 - I do love a brooch, and she's inspiring me to go beyond an occasional brooch pinned to the lapel of a winter coat.

The brooches aren't particularly elegant nor are they deliberately chunky like Pru Leith's jewellery, but definitely inspiring. (As is Lady Hale herself. I shall stop fangirling now!) @MotherofPearl I may start experimenting as well

Just been googling, they look good on Denim jackets. People also wearing them as hair accessories.
