SOTD was Eau Duelle. It's very versatile, I like it a lot.

Maud, I'm not exactly suffering here as I have already acquired approximately 70 million samples that I haven't yet tried. Where is my 'grimacing' emoticon when I need it?!

Sending more thoughts your way, pots.

Would-be EPC swappers -- I'm sorry, I'm not keen on fig or neroli. If it's any consolation, I'm finding Amber Iris a bit hard to get to love too. But I do feel it may be worth a go in different weather...

judy, I do hope you are feeling at least a tiny bit better, your lurgy sounds grim...

Thanks for all the kinds words. I bloody love this thread - it's guaranteed to make me feel better.

floof I haven't tried the floral street rhubarb yet but I like their perfumes v much, so keen to try it. Jane at British beauty blogger wasn't a fan - too sweet, more a gourmande to her. As a gourmande lover than only made me want to try it more...

Hello All. Just to mention there was some PW Girl in TK Maxx yesterday (100ml plus 10ml travel spray for £14.99 I think?),

Body - Eau de Memo is on it to you.
Hoo - happy to swap my Gentle Fluidity Silver should that be up your street (or have a couple 4160Ts 9mls?).

Hooo, I've got the neon jasmine epc and would be delighted to swap for fig neroli!! I also unfortunately have the feminite du bois though!

SOTD L’Air de Rien. I can taste and smell again, but have a really horrible cough. DP has had it for a fortnight now.

Heeley Verveine is Sotd. I think I need to sell it on eBay. Either the longevity has become pants or I'm now anosmic to something in it. Such a shame as I've been hankering after a bottle for years.
Judy I'm glad you are feeling better. Yes, you have had a bad run this year. This one you can blame on your dp. Chicken soup made from bone broth is good for colds. I swear by Michael Moseley's recipe for chicken soup with ginger, garlic and live cider vinegar. But if you're vegetarian it's useless advice 😁.
@Lotsofpots I hope you are having a wonderful holiday under the circumstances.💐.

SOTD was Smoky Midnight. It's grown on me.

I also think I may be coming round to the smell of oudh -- somebody in the childminder's building must wear oudh as I keep getting the most heavenly wafts of it in the corridor!

Morning All.

Yes, somebody is wearing the most fabulous oudh at work right now (have narrowed it down to two interns, both male. I won't be inquiring to avoid Blush).

I haven't got my head around seasonal changes yet. Boronia and India are keeping me going Maud - inspired choices for this time of year.

I picked up a bottle of LT Piver Epices in TK Maxx clearance, which is a very nice aromatic-spicy fragrance. Lighter than expected and not off-puttingly masculine - freshly grated nutmeg and ginger.

Have also just taken a punt on eBay on a little bottle of Mary Chess Carnation. (More spice...).

So pleased you're enjoying them MrsM 😀

Am accompanying my dad to a big antiques fair, hoping to snag some vintage perfumes. It's the same place I found an almost-full bottle of Deci Dela last year so fingers crossed!

They also do excellent coffee and cake. I have finally hit middle age Grin

SOTD is the utterly beautiful AT Reverie au Jardin. I am so so so tempted by the FB currently on eBay but I cannot justify it. My teeny Les Senteurs sample is almost empty though...

MotherOfDragonite · 08/09/2019 11:45

SOTD is the divine Hiram Green Shangri La. I have been avoiding using it because I know my supply is limited as it's discontinued. Sigh.

What is Reverie au Jardin like, Maud?

MrsMoggs I find myself sniffing randomers appreciatively too! It has reached the point where I honestly think if I met a single man who wore LADDM or ACCD I would totally date them (I am completely dating-avoidant these days so this is saying something!)

Hello, Fragrant Ones...

I’ve missed loads of threads and changed names (can’t even remember what I was called on these threads?!), but I was a regular for a couple of years and I’m back after a busy and stressful time.

SOTD Lalique Satine.

I’ve missed all your perfume-related musings Grin.

BR540 welcome back, I bet if you could remember your user name we would recognise you!

Sniffing random men (and women!) is one of life's great pleasures. Especially in lifts! I do like to ask randomers what they wear as I love it when people ask me (I think of it as a random act of kindness Wink) although it's usually my hair not perfume that attracts comments Grin

Talking of life's great pleasures, the antiques fair sounds epic maud. I realised I was middle aged the other day when I asked DH if he wanted to go to the the garden centre Wink (he didn't Grin)

Judy poor you! Definitely chicken soup required, teta I shall look at yours but I'm strict about my soup, it must have matzo balls and schmaltz (the schmaltz is what helps your chest I believe)

SOTD is my sample of Kierin Nitro Noir. I wish I could remember what I thought of it originally as I bloody hate it Hmm On paper the notes sound great. Nope. And the blurb! "I am fashionably late for my rendezvous with a pinkberry martini...glossed lips shine in the moonlight" Hmm Is it just me that reads stuff like that and thinks fuck off Blush

Anyway it's disgusting. I won't even inflict it on anyone by offering it for swapsies. (Apologies if anyone likes it btw Blush )

I can’t help with the HN swapping, as I managed to resist buying the box. I intend to buy Tauer’s Au Coeur du Desert, so I am saving up. I’ve been wearing other heavy hitters, eg Maxed Out (gorgeously louche and my small sample is lasting for ages), Zoologist Civet (like a plush furry animal with toffee) and L’Artisan Parfumeur Mon Numero 10 (spicy incense and leather, although I’m still trying to get a handle on this one).

BR540 welcome back!

MrsM, I have never heard of Mary Chess perfumes, so was interested to look them up. The carnation one sounds delightful. I have a little sample of an Oriza L Legrand carnation perfume which I am trying to preserve by just having little dabs. I know I should just use it up really.

Floofy, you’re not enticing me with your description of Nitro Noir! There are some perfumes I find very offputting, mainly the strong amber woody ones aimed at men. I’ve only asked three strangers what perfume they were wearing. One was some years ago, so pre-reformulation, and it was Paloma Picasso. The modern version is not so nice. The second one was SJP Lovely and the third was an Avon one. All three strangers were flattered to be asked! I must definitely do this more often.

Happy to report that the fair was a success Grin.

I snagged a half-full bottle of pre-barcode Miss Dior (black and white houndstooth bottle, big white cap, 60ml, so I'm thinking maybe 1970s?) and a FB of vintage L'Aimant. Both are FABULOUS.

I also bought a beautiful Japanese Noritake tea set, apparently from around 1908, for what I'm hoping was a bargain. I can't find any trace of it online though, so it's either incredibly rare, or they saw me coming Blush. It is so pretty though so I don't really care if it fell off the back of a Chinese lorry last week.

floofy you are definitely not alone re: blurbs like that - cringemaking.

mother -RaJ is a dry, spicy lavender underpinned by smoke and balsam. I absolutely love it but it's been discontinued

Hello BR540 and welcome back! I'm intrigued to know who you were Grin

That sounds an excellent haul Maud. Love vintage Miss Dior.

Good to hear from you Calm. Carnation and honey sounds good! Kafkaesque has a great blog on Oriza L Legand.

BR540 - tell us about your favourite perfumes and we'll try and guess Grin. Were you around for the Big Sniff?
