Please can I have some help picking a new perfume? I've been wearing Angel for years now, sort of my signature scent, and use Lush Karma sometimes.

I have to be careful as I get migraines from some perfumes, such as Loulou and Poison and what I call 'powdery' type fragrances that seem to get stuck in my throat.

I like woody, spicy, patchouli, old rose, green, earthy type fragrances. I like lavender, lily of the valley, violet, jasmine, bergamot,
Dislike strong florals or fruity.

I have worn Givenchy Gentleman and Cerutti 1881 as perfumes in the past.

Would love to have some of your recommendations, please and thank you.

One of my favourite woody perfumes is mmm by the fireplace but perfume parlour do a dupe called wood fire which is indistinguishable to my nose:)

Mrs do i choose what i send and add notes in writing of the, um, notes?
i am quite thick and need lots of explanations.

Hi Kali - it does sound complicated I know! So, your partner, Flora, will send you two little packets for you to open on your dates. The only writing you will need to do is on those dates. On each of your two dates you will open one of your packets, enjoy the perfume, then go to the site and write an update on what you have received (behind the door with that day's date). This could be a few words of reaction, or a mini review, or you could read up about it and post a bit of info (yes, could be the notes). It's up to you; everyone will do something a bit different.

Everyone else will be able to read what you have written and will be vicariously enjoying the scent you received! Does that help? Can anyone else explain this better?

Sotd is Jo Malone Nutmeg & Ginger. I still love this even though it's a bit one dimensional. I spray with Roger & Gallet Gingembre on top to reactivate the ginger as that's the bit I love.
