Ds1 very nervous. He doesn't handle change well and no one he knows is doing the same A levels as him.

Feel very discombobulated.

teta, I find the Ffern is not that long lasting, but it doesn't seem to make a big difference on me whether I spray a lot or a little. So I've been reapplying during the day.

SOTD was LADDM but then I spritzed some of Smoky Midnight on my wrists too. Didn't like the smokiness at first but it fades to something more like the regular MPG, which I love.

SOTD was Bella Oudh from the HN box. This is really rather lovely; a soft rosey oudh, not stinky or overpowering at all.

Now sat in front of the telly with wine and Mr Speaker, settling in for an evening of parliamentary procedure. How weird

However not many good vibes left in the pots household at the moment, as my dad has just been diagnosed with two separate cancer. Reeling and scared.

So I did not what any good perfumista does and bought myself a diptyque sampler set in duty free on the way to holiday so SOTD is Do Son.

Parents are meant to be on holiday with us, so all the fun we're having feels bittersweet as my wonderful dad instead traipses from hospital appointment to hospital appointment.

Most of my preferred scents are spring/summery!! Also I don’t have any perfumes on my wish list any more. Maybe I can burn some candles instead... candles are also much cheaper than perfumes

SOTD Liz Earle 15. I have a STINKING cold, coughing so much I am scared I am going to throw up or wet myself, or both. I don’t work on a Wednesday, and have already emailed my manager to say I won’t be in tomorrow so he could organise cover. He hasn’t replied (which is standard for him) so am still going to have to ring in in the morning which is annoying.

SOTD was MPG.

First day at a new school for DD, and it went well. I am so glad that I moved her, despite the longer commute.

I have also seen a psychotherapist for the first time, which I have wanted to for ages, so I am now on a perfume spending ban for the time being (let's see how that goes) and must dutifully use up my samples and crazy previous purchases.

Which is a shame, because I sampled some of the urghily-named Blousy by Miller Harris, and was really taken with it...

SOTD was Habanita. Is it possible to be fierce and comforting at the same time? If so, this is it. Wonderful soft powderyness but no wussy shrinking violet. And some serious longevity.

Gawd, I am shattered. Work is just insanely full on atm, and I am barely keeping my head above water. I'm supposed to be writing a PhD proposal, and prepping for a promotion, and applying for a senior fellowship of my professional academy...absolutely none of which I am doing because I spend my whole day on bloody admin, firefighting student complaints and holding other people's hands through things they have done twelfty million times before.

I am teetering on the edge. I burst into tears today when a colleague told me a sweet story about her unwell son 'cos it reminded me of my mum.

And I realise all of that probably says more about me and my lack of boundaries but....argh!

to everyone else who is stressed and worried, I hope too all the MiniPerfumistas are settling into school/college. Lots of worrying over the "right" bags and stationery for college here and horrific expense on giant school shoes for DSs (All my DCs feet are officially bigger than mine now and they are all taller than me! I feel old )

Now, has anyone tried the new Floral Street Rhubarb one? I actually hate eating rhubarb so generally ignore rhubarb-y perfumes but this sounds right up my street. I'm not a huge fan of Floral Street so far though.

I got a new Feel Unique sample set and have tried them all (this included mouilettes (sp?) and my best fountain pen so see how dedicated I am to our cause) then had a seizure and cannot remember any of it So it's like a brand new present to myself today

I'm in my first autumnal perfume - Safari. It's chilly and really windy here today. I'm another one really tired due to not sleeping from 4am. Too many things going on and the fun, stress and strain of setting something up.
I had one starting a new school yesterday. One with no uniform so we had to take him shopping. Took dd2 & ds1 as style arbiters 😄.
Commiserations to everyone having a hard time.
