August holiday princessing?

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 09:07

Anyone up for this please?

We are planning a holiday (though haven't actually booked anything yet) in August school holidays. I am in need of much princessing 😬.

My plan is:

  • healthy eating; plenty of fruit, veg, wholefoods, lots of water. As my name would suggest, I am a bit of a fatkins at the mo Blush, so losing a few lbs would be a good idea.
  • minimum of four days a week with no Wine or Gin.
  • lots of water.
  • less caffeine.
  • yoga every day, including two - three classes.
  • less screen time, except kindle, which doesn't have the 'bad' light.
  • exfoliate daily.
  • file feet daily.
  • paint toes weekly.
  • buff and file finger nails a few times a week.
  • use gradual tan lotion stuff.
  • curly girl method for hair and also speak to wonderful hairdresser about growing hair without it going to pieces.
  • wardrobe clear out and reorganise.
  • ask about teeth whitening at dentist.

I'm sure there are more, but that's all I can think of for now!

Would love some company Smile.

PS: apologies if there is one of these on the go already!

Fatkins!

I'm in, I'll add to my list weekly use of Lumia to reduce the hairy legs and bikini as much as possible!

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 09:37

Hurray! Glad to have some company on this here princess wagon Grin.

Good point. I shave legs and use a bikini trimmer. Will aim to do that every ten days 👍.

I'll join in though I'm not actually going on holiday this year , but I need a goal.

Hair - I'm growing out a Pixi , now at shoulder level but needs trimmed , I have an appointment booked . Once it is all one length I will grow it to maybe just skimming my shoulders .

Dye- I have found a colour I am happy with , it involves mixing two dyes to give me the shade I want .

Nails - lost cause , I can only file and buff . Cannot wear product (Work Infection Control)

I can paint my toenails though so that's a plus.

Waxing- I use Nads sugaring , its a room temperature wax, not so good on legs as it tends to pull the hairs when its applied , but I use my epilator on my legs (need a new one)

Korean Italian Cloths to exfoliate body and Konjac Sponge for face

Underwear - I need to do a cull and buy some new .

I don't drink any alcohol anyway and very rarely soft drinks though I do like my coffee .. I drink loads of water (hot flushes)

I use some Revolution dye on my very sparse eyebrows , it makes them look a bit better without the faff on pencilling them in.

My last Princessing Aim List included fake tan..........haven't managed that one .

Love a Princess Thread Grin

I can really recommend tan lux lotion. Goes on like a gradual tanner, but dead 3asy coverage, and two applications gives a great natural tan colour.

ChicCroissant · 23/06/2019 20:49

I'm in, we've just booked a few days in Spain for August (city-type break, not beach) and aim to tone up a bit and lose some weight before going.

Would like to maintain a good skincare routine and basic makeup, inc dyed eyelashes.

Fatkins · 23/06/2019 21:44

Yay! This is fab.

I'm feeling super motivated for tomorrow now Smile.

I'm in! Kids are keen for a beach holiday this year (which probably means Camber Sands rather than somewhere exotic), but I'd love to be able to feel good in a bikini or cozzie for a change.

Just bought a kettlebell from Alid so will be working out with that five days a week.

Calorie counting (and less sugar) for a bit of weight loss too, hopefully down a dress size by August.

Gradual tanner for moisture and colour.

I've had two people independently tell me lately how miserable or pissed off I look in passing, so I'll be working on my resting-bitch face too I think!

ChicCroissant · 23/06/2019 23:14

70isalimit has reminded me to try epilating my legs - I do my underarms but if I do my legs I need to plan wearing trousers as it leaves red marks for a few days! Exfoliating afterwards would help too, I haven't tried the Korean Italy towels - got a Japanese washcloth for my face, are the towels similar to that at all?

Fatkins · 24/06/2019 13:04

Morning all!

Today I have buffed and filed my fingernails and I'm calorie counting. Not a bad day on that front so far.

I've also gone a bit easier on the caffeine. Just two teas; one green, one black... Which makes me think of chocolate. I may be a lost cause Wink.

I'm having loads of water and have a 90 minute yoga class booked for later.

Hi, can I join in please? I love princessing threads Smile. I've finally got my skincare sorted, and I'm starting Tretinoin tomorrow.

I've got some understatement weight to shift, I've lost quite a lot in the last month but more to go, and I'd like to get back into doing yoga every day.

Fatkins · 24/06/2019 14:56

Yes of course! Welcome dinosaurs Smile.

I'll join in! I'm going on an exciting August hol which is motivating me to make that extra effort. I want to look and feel good.
My plan is to:
Tone up with weights and exercise bike.
Drink more water.
Drink less alcohol.
Eat less.
Try crest whitening strips.
Try waxing - I usually shave bikini line but it causes a rash.
Maintain polished nails.
Vaseline as a face mask.
Exfoliate body.
Moisturise body.
Get some gorgeous perfume.

Fatkins · 24/06/2019 21:24

Oh let us know how the vaseline face mask goes Kathleen! I've only heard of it on Mumsnet. Welcome to you too btw.

So diet has been hit and miss for me, but nothing terrible. Planning and early night with book now.

I've just been to yoga and it was fab, except that my fat belly was trying to suffocate me during plough pose 😂😂😂. I was clearly a lot slimmer last time I did that pose in a yoga class. I could just see my rolls looming over me as I got into the pose this evening. It was a little tragicomic! Oh well. At least I managed to do it. Every cloud... Wink.

Just having a final pint of water before bed.

Hope everyone is getting on ok and feeling oh so princesse-esque Grin.

SandraOhshair · 25/06/2019 07:26

I've name changed from earlier on the thread.
I did my first no carb day yesterday and did an exercise class last night.
Might lumina tonight!

Fatkins · 25/06/2019 13:10

Well done for low carb-ing Sandra. I've had great success with it in the past. I can't face it this time, but it certainly does the job!

I'm seriously considering meal replacement shakes... I have some vegan slimfast gathering dust in my kitchen. Maybe tomorrow, seeing as I've already eaten two meals today.

I'm about to phone the dentist re teeth whitening and am going to do some 'home practice'* yoga.

How is everyone else doing?

*I don't have the confidence to wing it just yet, so I do a dvd. Any tips on doing it without would be much appreciated!

OP posts:
EatenByDinosaurs · 25/06/2019 16:32

I completed another fast day yesterday and did 1.25 hrs of yoga. Painted my toe nails last night but I don't like the colour so now going to do it again Smile

Well done no carving Sandra I do low carb/cheat keto most of the time and it makes me feel so much more energetic Smile

Sorry no ideas about doing yoga without a DVD Fatkins, I do mine from a DVD as we've moved around so much it just became too much of a faff inding a class I liked.
I do Iyengar yoga too, and true iyengar classes seem harder to find for some reason Confused

Fatkins · 25/06/2019 17:36

Ah yeah, I prefer Ashtanga yoga, but the nearest one to me is actually quite a horrible drive away on busy roads. I do go to a lovely class now, but it isn't Ashtanga. It's pretty close though and the teacher is amazing.

I did an Ashtanga DVD today and my lord was I sweating. Has everyone else got this awful humidity today? It's lie Florida here! Almost.

Plan to have my hair high lighted just before we go

Keep up with bi weekly mani and pedi

Keep up waxing of moustache

I’ve decided to let my lady garden go au natural but will get just bikini line done before we leave

Been picking bits and pieces of new clothing for trip, including two swimming costumes.

I love hearing what other people are doing..
