Tbh I’d look fucking stupid.... not sure how much huger my arse can look 🤨

BirdieInTheHand · 02/04/2019 19:23

Oh god lipstick would you give up?!

A good proportion of the posters on this thread know exactly what the SRD is. It's been explained to you multiple times that this is an age old tradition on MN in spring.

No one's compelling you to join in if you can't understand.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 02/04/2019 19:27

I understand completely and You’re asking I agree with you to flatter your ego?
That’s a resounding no
HTH

BirdieInTheHand · 02/04/2019 19:29

Lipstick

You clearly don't. HTH. Hun

Hmm
CasanovaFrankenstein · 02/04/2019 19:29

It’s a yes from me - fit n flare is most of my wardrobe.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 02/04/2019 19:30

I clearly do understand and it’s still an emphatic no
HTH

TSSDNCOP · 02/04/2019 19:32

Sleeves: check
Popover: check
Pockets: check
Cheap: check

I have gardening trousers (old manky tracky bottoms). I call them my gardening trousers but they are not limited to gardening. I also wear them for painting/washing the car/clearing out the garage. I still call them my gardening trousers.

I have a great simple knee length jersey dress. It's my dress of choice for beach holidays, where I can go from the beach to a cafe. My legs and arse will not permit shorts, so putting on a dress is my best option.

This dress is also my SRD in the summer. Let's say I've been to the gym and I don't want to wear Lycra in public, I put on my beach dress. I am not thin and I don't look good in everything. I look half decent in my dress. Shoot me if my self-esteem means I'd rather chuck on a dress than be seen in clothes I only wear in the privacy of my garden.

I happen to call it my SRD rather than beach dress as a nod back to those old threads.

I really don't understand the confusion. It's not about dressing up for the school run, it's about wearing stuff that you feel comfortable in in public. I'm very comfortable in private in my gardening trousers but not comfortable in them in public.

ssd · 02/04/2019 19:35

Shh lipstick you got a wee humphy face there 😁😁😁

YesQueen · 02/04/2019 19:35

I don't have DC and I remember the school run dress threads
I have a couple which I would class as "SRD". For me it means you get up, it's a hot day and you want a dress to throw on with a pair of sandals that's easy to wear, you don't have to faff about with strapless bras etc, it doesn't need ironing, you just get up and go 🤷🏽‍♀️
Mine are the skater dresses from the tall range at Dorothy Perkins

Ellapaella · 02/04/2019 19:35

@TSSDNCOP that dress from Next was so popular last summer it sold out in a few weeks. I tried the Navy one on and it was a nice dress, very flattering. Tempted to get it this year (and pray its ever warm enough up here in the north east to ever wear it)

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 02/04/2019 19:35

a checklist?how very regimental
What happens to outliers who go off message?

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 02/04/2019 19:38

THIs is going to blow your mind ....but that was for the OP not you lipstick. I don’t wish to communicate with you after this. I find you judgemental, uptight , dictatorial and an irritating wasp.

Your message (of which you have banged on repeatedly) about not getting the school run dress thing is because you have a different lifestyle. I know. SHOCKING. OTHER PEOPLE LIVE DIFFERENTLY TO YOU AND MAKE DIFFERENT CHOICES.

I am beginning to suspect you are hairy handed. What you certainly are though is a grade A bore. A bit weird too frankly....

TSSDNCOP · 02/04/2019 19:40

Ella you’re right! I have the white sleeveless version because I couldn’t get the be-sleeved version.

It’s the SRD of the Friends Apartment Pants —which are really yoga trousers, but fgs don’t tell Lipstick—

PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 02/04/2019 19:41

Hiding thread now .... looking forward to a new one with wind up merchants not featuring

TSSDNCOP · 02/04/2019 19:42

Ah Paul don’t do that.

ssd · 02/04/2019 19:43

Am loving this thread, its like the good old days, makes me wistful...

YesQueen · 02/04/2019 19:44

The ones I have are similar to this but without the bow and no sleeve frills. Hoping they bring them back as I wear them in summer with flat sandals and at the moment for work with tights and a cardigan/soft blazer

HighlightsandHeels · 02/04/2019 19:44

Paul ignore. Some posters can't help themselves.

lborgia · 02/04/2019 19:44

Goodness, Lipstick, you’re being very boring. I have been pootling through this thread in a “it’s 4am and I need to get to sleep” sort of way, and your comments jar at every turn.

Just shush!

HighlightsandHeels · 02/04/2019 19:45

FWIW I like the next one in white. Although I'm v pale so it only suits me in my imagination Sad

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 02/04/2019 19:45

Paul on this thread you’ve even aerated to me demonstrably unable to be civil
Knobber
Snippy shit
Inverted snob
And again I see you’re further adding
judgemental,
uptight ,
dictatorial
irritating wasp
hairy handed.
grade A bore. A bit weird too frankly....

You seem unable to maintain any air of composure of civility and quite unsuited to online forums

I wonder why innocuous threads make you this worked up

TSSDNCOP · 02/04/2019 19:45

ssd me too. What was the name of the OP? Was she also the one that did Poncetastic Christmas?

cuppycakey · 02/04/2019 19:46

TSS I have that Next dress in four colourways.

Black, White, Blue stripe and Navy geo. It's a good length on me (I am 53) and I need the upper arm coverage.

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 02/04/2019 19:47

Iborgia, upon considering your suggestion .I'm afraid it’s a no
HTH
