dontcallmelen · 31/03/2019 10:47

Thanks Ella
Happy Mother’s Day everyone, glad that it’s going to be ok for you Laska it’s raining here & quite chilly big change from yesterday which was beautiful, I have a slight head as was out with an old friend last night hopefully will feel better in a while.

Laska2Meryls · 31/03/2019 11:33

Thanks for the new thread Ella

Yes Never re: carbs ,ive tried lowcarb and it was good but I cant keep it up either, (potatoes esp!) ! I am also back on 5:2 , but just eating less carbs.. its giving up alcohol that really makes the difference for me I think..

Laska2Meryls · 31/03/2019 11:36

Great Ella ill send you some more names by email when i have yours ..( I'm a bit wary of using MN for that (despite briefly posting some v identfying photos last week Blush)

neveradullmoment99 · 31/03/2019 11:37

... and laska its giving up sweet things for me. I rarely drink. If it was that, i would be an 8! Its just not fair damn it!

justilou1 · 31/03/2019 11:38

Happy Mother’s Day, Hushistas! (It’s not Mother’s Day until May here in Australia, so my bed is still crumb-free!) I have survived my first week of clinical prac and am loving it! Getting good reports so far, which is great! Next week I am on morning shifts, and may be slightly less enthusiastic! (Never was a morning bird!) At least will be busier and have a chance to learn different skills. Have been challenged in positive ways already, so ready for more. Have spent the weekend doing glamour jobs like laundry, groceries, floors and reviving very depressed potted plants. I missed the Hushista party and must say that I am devastated. Looks like a good time was had by all!!! Maybe next time!!! I will catch up on the fashion gossip in about two more weeks, I promise! Meanwhile, I hope you decide whether Paris is right for you or not, @Soy. Big decision!!! (I love Paris, but I think you have to FEEL it to live there.)

Laska2Meryls · 31/03/2019 11:46

never I'm quite lucky there as i dont have a sweet tooth, but ,then, Crisps..and cheese and biscuits (although if i dont have Wine i dont get the evening munchies.. )Hmm No brainer.... (so why do I keep doing it ? )

dontcallmelen · 31/03/2019 12:07

Just sounds like it’s going very well, good luck for the mornings.
I don’t have a sweet tooth either, yy cheese, crisps & crackers I don’t think I could do low carb either, I love bread too much.
never have fun whizzing around in the new car.
Have to go shopping now, with a very Fuzzy head😱 as am doing dinner for everyone later.
@Fuzzypuffling hope Dh & you are doing ok.

dontcallmelen · 31/03/2019 12:07

Ooh & Ella the trips planned sound fabulous.

Inforthelonghaul · 31/03/2019 14:26

Hi, been lurking lots but not posted for ages. I love this thread and you all seem like such love people. I have nothing particularly interesting to say but I have been looking at Hush on eBay as I like some of their older stuff better than the current line (and their prices are ridiculous) and I’ve just seen that a pair of their star boyfriend jeans from last year has just sold for £80 used!!!! I’m just a bit gobsmacked and wanted to share with you allGrin

Noloudnoises · 31/03/2019 14:47

Random one, hope this is allowed? Anyone want to buy these? Size 6. Complete mistake for my flat feet!

Hushista's stepping into spring...
Noloudnoises · 31/03/2019 14:53

Oh, I've found a Facebook preloved page, never mind...

dontcallmelen · 31/03/2019 15:00

longhaul I never have anything interesting to say either, so don’t be shy😂 crikey theybare having a laugh though jeans were about twenty five quid in the sale last year.

NotAnActualSheep · 31/03/2019 16:19

Oh, thanks for the new thread Ella. I hadn't realised we were so close to the end of the last one. I'm sure it was only about 16 pages last time I looked!

Hope you're all having lovely days! Especially Laska. Must be difficult, even if it's not a day you celebrate. Cake (a low carb one... Wink) and Flowers . And Ella - hope you had a great evening out yesterday! DH and DS are making doughnuts Shock . There is a lot of swearing coming from the kitchen (and then DS telling daddy off for the bad language) so I'm not even going to look in there for fear of carnage. Doesn't sound like its going well...

Just following from Ella's suggestion on the last thread - November for a meet up sounds like a good month. Enough time to plan, and not into full-on pre-Christmas panic... I don't want to get into a fight with Miffy over Dublin vs Edinburgh though Grin . I would love to go to Dublin at some point I must say, but also happy to "welcome" you to Edinburgh (cos it all belongs to me ShockGrin). Christmas markets may start in Edinburgh mid November if that makes a difference...

Well done on surviving your first week justilou. It sounds like you've done really well! Good luck next (this?) week.

infor £80!!! That's crazy... I think even full price they were less than that. EBay is a funny beast sometimes.

noloudnoises they are gorgeous! I'm sure you'll find a buyer...I'd be tempted to be honest, but I got some similar from the boden sale in the summer, and I think even I can only really justify one pair of leopard trainers... Grin . Good luck though.

Right...laundry calls. I even managed to hang some out on the line earlier...that's how nice it's been here today...

FuzzyPuffling · 31/03/2019 18:00

Dearest "melen" thank you so much for enquiring how we are. And kindness now makes me a bit weepy - side effect of being dog-tired !At Morrisons this week a random chap offered me his "5p off a litre of fuel" voucher as he has an electric car. I very nearly cried in his face.

Anyway, DH is still in a lot of pain and on the oramorph. At least his temperature has come down and stabilised. He is sleeping much of the time and only with supreme effort can he get up for an hour a day (to rest on the sofa).

On the good side, DD1 came over for Mother's Day lunch today (bringing her husband, her ex husband and their daughter - I love our "terribly grown up" family!) and brought a lovely vegan butternut squash stew and lemon drizzle cake. So grateful for not cooking.

Few thoughts of clothes at the moment, But I am so sorry I missed all your photos on the last thread. I would have loved to see them all.

twosoups1972 · 31/03/2019 19:43

Thank you ella for the new thread and Happy Mothers' Day one and all Smile

Can't believe we have a new thread already, I swear we just started the previous one Grin

just that sounds great and hope the mornings go ok

laska hope the low-carbing is going ok

fuzzy wishing your dh many get well vibes, poor him. The food sounds delicious, hope you enjoyed it.

twosoups1972 · 31/03/2019 19:46

I've spent the weekend with much anxiety unfortunately. Dd3 who was throwing up all day Thursday, missed her dance school show that evening and I had to manage as a vomit-phobic with her all day. Luckily there was no show on Friday and she was just about ok to dance 2 shows yesterday and we all went to watch her. She's shattered though.

We also went up to watch dd1 in HER dance show, think I'm all danced out this weekend Grin

If anyone has any knowledge of this - dd hasn't been sick since Thursday afternoon, do you think she is 'safe' now? I am still worrying about us catching it, I have been bleaching everything and wiping with wipes and anti-bac spray. I probably sound completely mad Sad

Ellapaella · 31/03/2019 20:10

@twosoups1972 48 hours is the magic time after vomiting - in the NHS we can't return to work until we haven't vomited or had diarrhoea for 48 hours. Hope your poor dd feels better soon

Thanksfor you as well @FuzzyPuffling - sounds like you're having a tough time as well.

@Laska2Meryls I have emailed you.

Had a delicious lunch out - braised beef and peanut curry with jasmine rice, spicy tempura chicken wings, tofu with crunchy peanut satay sauce and salt and chilli fries 😋 I'm absolutely stuffed. Just about to settle youngest dc to bed and looking forward to the new series of Line of Duty tonight.

Oh and £80 for the star jeans!! I have two pairs! Tempted to put a pair on eBay but to be honest they are my absolute favourite jeans and I don't think I could give them up.

OP posts:
Ellapaella · 31/03/2019 20:12

£80 is more than the original price! I paid £79 for my first pair and then got the second pair for £25 in the sale. eBay is crazy.

OP posts:
twosoups1972 · 31/03/2019 20:13

Thank you ella so it's been well after 48 hours, does that mean she's not infectious any more?

Your lunch sounds lovely, that is definitely my sort of food!

We had tea out at a nice place dh found Smile

FuzzyPuffling · 31/03/2019 20:16

I've been looking at linen stuff online. I love a bit of linen in the summer...White Stuff have some nice looking dresses. I might be tempted when my consultancy payment comes through.
Or I might bumble off to look at what T K Maxx have...!

dontcallmelen · 31/03/2019 20:19

Aww Fuzzy I know exactly what you mean, when any kindness makes you a full on blubbing wreck, so glad you had a lovely mother’s day & food sounds delicious lol at the ‘grown up family’ glad also at least Dh is a little better, try & factor in some rest time for yourself as well💐

soups that sounds exhausting, glad they got through the dance shows though, I’m no expert but I think all is after 48hrs free of sickness so she should be ‘safe’ now.
Not can’t beat doughnuts with a bit of swearing thrown in😂 mine gone home now dgd treated us all to a ‘show’ she re-enacts the bit from frozen when Elsa sings let in go does all, the actions/knows all the words including throwing the crown bit after the tenth ‘show’ was desperately trying to distract her with promise of sweets😂
