I did buy a blue leopard scarf in M&S yesterday for less than a tenner, not unlike the hush one. (virtuous)

Laska2Meryls · 02/04/2019 13:55

I haven't returned my Moritz yet but think I will most probably.I Like them but like the chinos more . I just looked in Next and they don't have the crops you mentionedNever but I'd be interested to see them when they arrive.
Also I see Next are doing the leopard star thing a lot now. ..

Laska2Meryls · 02/04/2019 14:13

Are we thinking of wearing the crops with trainers? I quite liked the navy with the ginger Chester trainers I got in the sale..

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 14:16

Sounds good @Laska - the trainers. Here are the jersey ones. They do them in three colours. They only had the bleach and the grey so have ordered them. Sadly they dont do a model shot so no idea what they will look like:

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 14:16

I think they might be comfy.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 14:17

Or hiddeous lol...

Laska2Meryls · 02/04/2019 14:53

Comfy I'm sure!! But have you seen the Oasis Chloe? I wondered about those but they do look v high waisted

twosoups1972 · 02/04/2019 15:41

I love my culottes! As well as the pin-striped Hush ones, I also have a black jersey pair from John Lewis. Think they balance my top heavy figure better than skinnies.

I like the look of the Next ones never

laska definitely yes to the trainers/crops combo

twosoups1972 · 02/04/2019 15:43

Ok I've ordered the blue Merlin jumper and the pink/orange ombre top (we haven't discussed that much recently have we? Grin)

Happy to report no more sickness here. Think we are safe after 5 days?

ilovecherries · 02/04/2019 18:10

I forgot actually. I have navy jersey culottes from Me&Em. I wore them endlessly for about a month, then I bought my leather leggings and was unfaithful.

I've been binge watching a lot of personal style videos on you tube in between soothing hysterical DD. There is a certain 'look' that a lot of these stylists seem to do for older women (and it's not my style!). There's a lot of what my mum would call 'slacks' , and quite corporate looking jackets and look as if they may have been used on the set of Dallas at one time. And scarves - and while I love a scarf, they are worn in a certain WAY. I wonder if its the CMB/HoC type of styling. I'm on a couple of HoC FB groups, and these women can be bonkers in their commitment to their season.

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 18:21

I think this guy is amazing for make overs:

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 18:22

Every single woman that he makes over look utterly amazing. Their hair looks soooo good. I wish I could get a make over like that!

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 18:24

OMG look at this make over. She looks completely different:

The husband is amazed!!!

Ellapaella · 02/04/2019 18:43

Wow that last one is amazing! It's interesting to watch makeovers.
I think the thing that really stands out when someone is 'stylish' is when you can tell the person feels confident in what they are wearing. Confidence seems to shine out, it makes a person hold themselves differently and that change in posture can change the way clothes fit and hang.

What shoes are you all going to wear with your cropped jeans? I have my pair from last summer that I'm definitely getting out again as soon as it's warm enough but I've only worn them with sandals and flip flops so far.

I'd forgotten how much I love French Connection. Their jeans are excellent quality.

I’m trying to keep up but I’m now officially #confusedofLondon as I have no idea who has what in regard to cropped trousers😂 yy French connection I have some lovely stuff from years ago, that I still wear.
cherries hope dd is a little calmer & enjoying some pampering.

ilovecherries · 02/04/2019 19:23

See its funny for me, as I never consider hair as part of a makeover. Having lived most of my life without any, or with very little that was always only a few days from falling out again, makeovers for me have always been about the clothes. I always lose interest on makeover shows when the hairdresser takes over :)

FuzzyPuffling · 02/04/2019 19:24

All your fabulous purchases...you are all so frightfully fashionable and cool !

I, however, needed some new slippers, so today I have ordered these little beauties. (Prepare to laugh...)

ilovecherries · 02/04/2019 19:26

Love them, fuzzy :)

neveradullmoment99 · 02/04/2019 19:34

Sorry cherries, I never thought Blush There is a lady at my work who has lost her hair and I felt I was tiptoeing about her which I hated. It was like the elephant in the room. I thought sod it and said she looks utterly fabulous with her new hairstyle and colour [ this was totally genuine, I had never seen her look so good]. At first I worried I had made a mistake saying it as she was a bit taken aback but after she seemed genuinely chuffed. I did think about asking you if I had done the right thing. I would hate to offend.

With the make overs I guess I was just thinking about getting my hair done and came across him. He seems to look at a womans face and know exactly what suits her. I wish I could find a hairdresser like that!

ilovecherries · 02/04/2019 19:39

Oh no, don't worry - honestly, I'm about 4 decades past being sensitive about it! Its just now and again I realise I'm operating from a different framework from other people. Of course hair must be important, and can totally change how you look. Having only started to wear wigs in the last few years, I know how different I can look. I have always been totally out and always happy to discuss it, some people hate to have it mentioned - but yes, then it becomes the elephant in the room, because everyone DOES know. I'd rather people just asked if they are curious, or if I look nice, tell me so.

ilovecherries · 02/04/2019 19:40

My DH is constantly losing me in public, as I change my look so much (sometimes more than once a day), that he can never remember what I look like.

dontcallmelen · 02/04/2019 19:42

Yy the Look if I ever venture into that territory, whilst out shopping with dd she says in a very loud voice Earth to Mothership, step away & put down the elasticated & crimplene horrors.
