Queen Apparently the couturier Stewart Parvin who designs clothes for the queen! You can see his bridalwear online.

Just seen this picture of Eugenie’s dress (I’m down a royal wedding dress rabbit hole!) Hadn’t realised how long the train was - it’s absolutely stunning!

Sounds amazing!! By candlelight, swoon!

I have been to that church on Cumberland Island. It is charming, but very tiny.

queenofarles · 04/03/2019 23:27

Sara Chatto dress is beautiful!

When Guns & roses November rain music video came out, i was so in love with the wedding dress Stephanie Seymour wore, and the black velvet dress with long gloves,I was about 12. still think it’s one of the best dresses ever Wink

Daisypie · 04/03/2019 23:50

Mette Marit and Sarah Chatto are the winners for me.

SenecaFalls · 05/03/2019 00:32

Sarah Chatto's dress was beautiful, perfect for her, and has stood the test of time. I quite like CP Victoria's, too.

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 05/03/2019 00:52

Eugenie’s dress was beautiful, I think she is my favourite royal bride, the tiara was stunning! But most of all the joy that exuded from her was lovely to see, and I don’t like Prince Andrew at all but the way he fussed around her and straightened her train was quite touching, I am very glad it was televised despite all the naysayers, it was a lovely wedding to watch.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 05/03/2019 04:29

This is the wedding of a Lord Frederick Windsor; his sister is the next royal Bride.
Apparently the designer was recommended by Princess Michael of Kent. I remember at the time, Sophia, the Bride said Princess Michael organised the lot; they didn’t have to do,anything.
( Sophia sounds very easy going)

Wedding was covered in Hello. here
Eugenie was a guest, so I suspect she will go to Ella’s wedding. She appears to be very popular in the RF. She’ll probably be the most senior royal there. I wonder if it will feature in Hello. The Kent’s are famously hard up; but they like a good party.

I’m wondering if Ella will wear the Kent Tiara

I think like everything Meghan does, her wedding dress was a departure from the norm. (Body skimming rather than fitted/ slightly messy hair)
On the day, really worked with the relaxed cut.
I really liked the pure white, it was perfect against her skin. Also the Matt satin. Shiny satin looks so cheap in comparison.
When you compare it to the knock offs on the YouTube video, you can see where the money went, and also less is more.

I know she’s not Royal, but the Swarovski heiress’s wedding sress was incredible.

Her red evening dress was gorgeous too.

Again not royal, but Jackie O’s first wedding dress was a beaut and for some reason Eurgenie’s in part reminded me of that one. Agree that Eugenie seems a lovely person! Exudes warmth :)

Paradyning · 05/03/2019 08:54

I think Sophie's dress was Suzanne Neville. I thought it looked really cheap at the time and slightly trashy!
I was so disappointed with Zara's! Stewart P did my dress and I was so excited. I think t missed the mark. Maybe it was the dropped waist. Idk.

Paradyning · 05/03/2019 08:56

Agree with PP about favourites being Sarah Chatto and Mette-Marit. Think I've said this in here before in a previous thread.
Mette's veil was stunning. There's a really cute pic of hottie H adjusting t for her.

ElspethFlashman · 05/03/2019 09:04

Oh god, Mary's continuing her pie crust collar obsession.

This is terrible for me. The necklace is too dinky for the jumper and the camel skirt is shapeless and paired with equally shapeless boots. The proportions are a rare misstep. And the collar itself is a bit ageing on her. She normally looks (and is!) a lot more youthful than this.

Meghan's dress reminded me a lot of Queen Silvia's dress. There was a retro 70s feel to it. I really liked it, it felt unfussy and signalled that other things were more important than her body showing iyswim.

QS:s also skimmed, but was not tight. It was Dior and silk. If we're talking quality I've always been surprised at how much the seams puckered. www.svenskdam.se/kungligt/nu-kan-du-se-drottning-silvias-brudklanning-i-verkligheten/ Scroll down a bit for pictures. You can see how the dress lifts a bit when she lifts her arm, and the puckering at the seams. It was Dior, so maybe it's just not that important with puckering seams? It is very difficult to have completely smooth seams in silk though.

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/03/2019 09:19

CPM's outfit looks like something last seen on a different Mary - Tyler Moore in the 70s!

@banivani Margarethe II's dress was also quite Marklesque. Or maybe Meghan's dress was Margarethesque!

[[https://www.theknot.com/content/princess-sofia-hellqvist-prince-carl-philip-wedding-dress Sofia's wedding dress] reminded me a bit of Kate's but I think I preferred the bodice of Sofia's. I'm not a fan of obvious bra cups in dresses.

Love Mary's boots!

QueenOfTheAndals · 05/03/2019 09:52

Here's a royal wedding dress I'd not seen before, Princess Michael of Kent's. She was very beautiful but I didn't realise how much he looked like his brother. The beard is a big improvement!

Oh, don’t like Princess Michael’s at all! Or Mary’s pie collar.

Notmyrealname855 · 05/03/2019 10:10

Princess Michael of Kent’s dress somehow looks more like evening wear? Ah maybe because he’s in black tie...

I did see two Dutch royal brides with weirdly similar wedding dresses on the Order of Splendor blog - both with very similar and rare necklines - Marilene and Annette, don’t know how to upload pics but here are the links:

orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2013/04/wedding-wednesday-princess-annettes-gown.html?m=1

Was this a style then?

Notmyrealname855 · 05/03/2019 10:11

Honestly Mary looks like she’s wandered off one of those clothes adverts at the back of newspapers, Lands End or something

queenofarles · 05/03/2019 10:12

Seventies wedding dresses were really something Grin
Princess Caroline looks like one of the small dolls in Disney land’s it’s a small world.

Caroline has Princess Lea hair there!
