Let's keep criticism to the clothes rather than the women please...

Maybe the blazer fits without a jumper. If you’ve always been skinny you don’t realise how gaining a bit of upper body weight fills out your arms & shoulders.

UrsulaPandress · 24/02/2019 10:31

Love her look today but agree the blazer looks a bit tight on the arms. I have almost the exact same blazer from the 80s. With the turned up cuffs.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 10:44

I got a shorter blazer like that with the striped lining from Zara about 7 years ago. But I doubt Meghan's is Zara!

Harry is looking v Henry VIII in that picture. Megs always looks amazing in casual and very formal wear. Once she has the baby and time to settle into her role without dressing a first time baby she should hopefully be more confident about daytime working clothes.

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 11:00

This is very cute. Apparently the two little girls were up early as they were so keen to see H&M. Harry always seems to have a great rapport with little children, maybe he gets that from Diana!

I loved Sophie's hair when it was short - suited her much better!

TipseyTorvey · 24/02/2019 11:06

I really like her look with that blazer. You can tell that's more her style than some of the formal working wardrobe. I'm looking forward to her post pregnancy wardrobe as she'll have learnt loads over the year and then can apply that without a bump in the way. I have loads of sympathy for her trying to look glam with an ever changing bump.

SlipperOrchid · 24/02/2019 11:10

Love the red dress, Meghan looks very regal. Am excited for the rest of the trip!

SlipperOrchid · 24/02/2019 11:14

Despite changing climates frequently, they manage to avoid red faces and shiny noses. I perspire and look flustered all the time in anything over twenty degrees. More formal clothes tend to be made with good quality fabrics that weigh more too. How do they do it!

beanaseireann · 24/02/2019 11:15

I have a navy blazer similar with striped cuffs, from Zara too. It's a couple of years old.

ElspethFlashman · 24/02/2019 11:16

I'm not mad on the look. It's very Kensington High Street. I don't really get how it translates to the Atlas Mountains tbh.

Honestly I'm not sure why she couldn't have worn a long maternity skirt, I mean shes wearing ballet flats so it's not as if she's hiking around the place - they arrived by helicopter. It would have been culturally more in keeping.

Look. If nothing else, black is a tiresome choice.

Its like she gave huge consideration to walking from the plane but then threw on any old thing for the actual visit?

Though I have to add that Harry looks like he made zero effort too, tbh. That grey jumper is pretty shabby looking.

Notmyrealname855 · 24/02/2019 11:26

I think we all have the same Zara blazer!

QueenOfTheAndals · 24/02/2019 11:27

Given the criticism she got for wearing Oscar de la Renta to a charity visit maybe she figured she'd go lowkey and casual today.

As for Harry, well at least he's not wearing a fleece like his brother!

Only me with the navy and black combo then?

mydogisthebest · 24/02/2019 11:47

I think Meghan looks really lovely in the casual clothes. I agree Harry's jumper looks scruffy but I bet it cost a lot.

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 11:49

Morning

Hopes for a nice thread SmileBrew

Jessica Mulroney is apparently a disappointing hire at ABC (USA) as she didn’t spill details like Gayle King.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6733949/Meghan-Markles-best-friend-Jessica-Mulroney-GMA-bosses-furious.html

Personally I don’t think Mulroney is a good stylist, as so many of MM outfits are ill-fitting and simply don’t suit her. I’ve only really rated MM’s casual look.

But American networks have a bad history of hiring people for connections and then getting burned when those connections aren’t tapped. Chelsea Clinton comes to mind here, as does Pippa’s failed attempt at US news.

BartonHollow · 24/02/2019 12:06

I think it's the one area that the American news is not just vexed by but dumbfounded by

People are usually queuing up to sell someone down the river for 15 minutes of fame and a quick buck

In this way, this is why neither Samantha or Thomas Markle think they've done anything wrong by selling her out, anything wrong at all.

Because taking any financial/fame opportunity you can is culturally normalised.

UrsulaPandress · 24/02/2019 12:10

My blazer with striped lining was from Wallis!

SlipperOrchid · 24/02/2019 12:11

I like black and navy/midnight blue but it’s a recent thing and stems from being influenced by Parisian style.

Rhubarbisevil · 24/02/2019 12:13

Checking in.

Let’s keep the talk about Style and Beauty and keep the bunfights in AIBU, heh?

I love Meghan’s look today because that is exactly how I dress but she looks a million trillion times better than me. I can never wrap a scarf around my neck elegantly. I think the scarsf is for emergency head covering, should the need arise.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 24/02/2019 12:26

I was just thinking that Meghan's top might be on the short side for 'modesty wear' in keeping with Islamic culture. Whether or not she read my mind, she seems to have changed into a longer one!

Paradyning · 24/02/2019 12:34

It looks like she has her Hatch mat jeans on again too.
Also love the way she's tied her scarf. No way I'd be able to do that!

7salmonswimming · 24/02/2019 12:48

Gosh, she looks exhausted. Women in the US tend to keep working right up until the days before birth, because their maternity leave is so pitiful. I remember feeling how she looks in that last photo.

I think the casual look is to not intimidate the youngsters they were visiting. They want to look and be approachable. It’s nice. They’re both well dressed for the climate and the occasion.

She didn’t cut the Wilfred tag off her scarf, though. Second time going! Poor lass. I do feel for her. She looks like she needs to go home and chill out for a few days. Just sleep and recover and do nothing. Especially not read the papers....

Gooseysgirl · 24/02/2019 13:14

Loved the red arrival outfit last night and today's more casual look is good too. I think we'll see her in public a few more times before end of March. I wonder when they are moving to Frogmore?
