Unfortunately my Mum, my sister, maternal aunt and grandmother all had DVT/PE in their 30's/40's so I think I have a higher risk just because of that.

You take care of yourself and take it one day at a time. Don't be making anymore beds for a while yet! It's good to keep mobile but don't try and do too much xx

justilou1 · 05/03/2019 11:56

Oh no! Our favourite post surgery @Cherries and @Ella are feeling crap! You two have been pushing yourselves too much!!! You must treat yourself like royalty and rest and recouperate! I do hope you are both back to your glamorous, sprightly selves ASAP!!!

Ellapaella · 05/03/2019 12:01

While I'm sitting around waiting I have been reading another thread about Holly Willoughby's M&S boiler suit. What are all your honest thoughts on it? I'll post a pick.
Fashion must have or have not?

I think part of my (psychological) issue is that I don’t feel I have a ‘right’ to be miserable or feel unwell. I chose this, and while it wasn’t an easy decision, it was something I very much wanted. I didn’t need it the way I have previous surgeries. So while I don’t regret it for a second, I feel obliged to be upbeat and happy when actually I still feel pretty crap. All of which is entirely on me, DH keeps pointing out I had nearly 4 hours under anaesthesia, and have massive wounds, plus all the worry beforehand, so it’s ok to feel fragile. But in my head, I’m all ‘must be back to normal’.

ilovecherries · 05/03/2019 12:08

I actually like it, ella, but I think it would be more suited to your shape than Holly’s (or mine!). I had one in the 80s, and it was the most comfortable garment I ever owned. And by coincidence, I wore it travelling in Rome :)

justilou1 · 05/03/2019 12:48

I love the boiler suit! Wish I could wear one! (Although I pee a lot. Can foresee problems there. Lots of water!!!)
My DH just informed me that my parcel from UNIQLO arrived today. This prompted a spontaneous unboxing of the crappy full-length mirror I bought about two months ago, dragging it around the house trying to find some light (we’re renting and the lights are truly weird at best in this place!), then trying them on. Suspect I’m sending back the red, as it pulls across the boobages. Forgive my lack of artistic skills. I tried to draw a cowboy hat, and it became Wagnerian. Goes with the boobs, I guess. I think the pink might have to go as well. I like it, but it’s very nude and terribly transparent. In winter, I am basically the same colour. It would make a great layering piece, but how often do we need one here? Meh.... I’ve got some time to think. The yellow and brown are keepers!

justilou1 · 05/03/2019 12:53

I had to bend down in the pink one so you couldn’t see my bra! See how sun-safe I am? I even wear hats inside - at 10pm!!!
Hope I’ve given @Ella and @Cherries something to giggle about, anyway. I doubt Banksy’s feeling threatened!!!

FuzzyPuffling · 05/03/2019 13:17

Hello all, Thank you al so much for your kind thoughts on my hospital appt. You have no idea how much I appreciate it..especially as "real life" people don't seem to care/get it! Anyway, it appears I have Undifferentiated Connective Tissue Disease (!) but because of certain neuro symptoms have got to have nerve conductivity tests as well as further blood tests . Back to rheumy in 3 months. Lying on sofa now...yesterday wiped me out.

As you were...back to the frocks!!

FuzzyPuffling · 05/03/2019 13:19

justilou that red looks fantastic on you...brilliant colour. (And I love the hats)

SoyYo · 05/03/2019 14:19

Lol @justi I’m loving your pics with the hats and the ride of the walkyries outfit does rather suit the pink shirt. If I’m honest they all look great on you, you are one pretty girl and a great figure too. Show it off I say and I didn’t think the pink was see through but up to you to decide if you’re comfortable enough with it to keep.

@ella Flowers I’m sorry about the clot worry...I do hope it’s no more than a scary but remote possibility and hope you get an answer fast so you’re not stressing about it. You’ve been through enough already. And yes Boilersuits are all the rage for the coming season and the one you posted I had seen and thought as far as boilersuits go it looks very flattering and would suit your shape. Try it!

@cherries Flowers poor you too. Your DH is right, 4 hour surgery is pretty major stuff. I think you do need to just give in to it for now. Really really rest and dose on painkillers (preferably those who don’t make you sick) and just take it easy. Listen to music, watch a favourite tv show, read that book you meant to ages ago and basically give your body time to heal. Be super kind to yourself and I can imagine being unable to have a full body shower must be driving you insane by now. We are here to distract or commiserate, and make you laugh a la justi whenever you need us

@Fuzzy another bunch for you Flowers at least now you have a (kind of) diagnosis. Are there any patient support groups online you can go for advice and support who suffer from the same condition? It may help you as I’ve never heard of this condition (but I’m pretty clueless so that doesn’t mean much). We are here so feel free to offload and advice above goes for you too. Rest. Rest. Rest.

Ellapaella · 05/03/2019 14:38

@justilou1 love your pics! Brilliant art work as well! 😁

@FuzzyPuffling hope that at least getting something of a diagnosis is helpful to you, at least you may start to get some answers soon - sending love.

I have had a scan of my lungs and a heart scan as well as some blood tests and a chest X-ray, waiting for results now. I am on the ward where i used to work a few years ago so getting treated like royalty.

Ellapaella · 05/03/2019 14:39

Oh and by the way @justilou1 you are very beautiful - lovely bone structure and lovely lips 😍

FuzzyPuffling · 05/03/2019 14:41

Ha...we are all such a poorly lot. Maybe we should all be reviewing the best pyjamas!
I've been browsing the Long Tall Sally sale, but nothing is grabbing me.

ilovecherries · 05/03/2019 14:54

Yes, you are a hottie, lou!
fuzzy, hope a diagnosis is a step in the right direction for you.
ella, I have everything crossed for you.

DGN85 · 05/03/2019 18:20

Hello lovely Hushistas!

It’s my time posting here, and I’m very new to Hush... I’ve got my eye on the Susanna tie front dress, as I think it would be very easy to dress up or down, and I’d get so much wear out of it over the spring and summer months!

Have any of you tried it on? What did you think? I’m a little worried it’ll be an awkward length for me as I’m only 5’4”! What size would you recommend I order? I’m a size 8-10 on top, and a 10 (sometimes a 12) on bottom. Does anyone have any current discount or friend codes they’d like to share with me please? Thank you in advance! Smile

ilovecherries · 05/03/2019 18:34

Havesent you a code :)

ilovecherries · 05/03/2019 18:37

DGN Re the dress, I tried it and sent it back, I felt it was a little thin for me - pretty much tee shirt material. However, it sat well, and was very flattering with the tie. I’m a size 12, and the M was a good fit. I’m 5’7, and it sat just below my knee. It’s more an orangey red than a true red. Haven’t seen it in black.

ilovecherries · 05/03/2019 18:38

So in your case, I’d probably try the small.

DGN85 · 05/03/2019 18:52

@ilovecherries - thank you SO much for the code and for the feedback - much appreciated! I was tempted by the red but think I’ll try the black as it’s a safer option. Thanks again!

justilou1 · 05/03/2019 20:28

@Fuzzy- I hope this diagnosis is an “A-ha!” moment for you and now things make sense rather than begin to look scarier! Usually is more of a join the dots situation with autoimmune stuff by the time you have a diagnosis. Unfortunately people don’t tend to “get” how awful they make you feel so big Flowers for you!
@Ella, I’m sorry you’re back on the ward but happy you’re being treated like s princess! Hope they are all peeling grapes, etc as required! Hope you get to the bottom of the problem and feel better ASAP! Flowers
@Cherries Flowers Yes, you have had big, traumatic surgery. You have had a lot of chemicals pumped around your body. You should listen to the advice about resting, but also admit that it is rather hard to do! Please take care of yourself!!!!! Flowers

Thanks for the compliments, ladies! It’s so strange that when I was growing up I was self-conscious of my lips. (My brother called me cat’s bum!) And of course bone-structure is new after weight-loss! Aussies are not at all good at accepting compliments graciously, so I am just going to say thank you all and let you know I’m blushing. I guess my 47th year is a good time to start working on self esteem issues, right? (Trying to make sure my kids don’t have them!!!)

FuzzyPuffling · 05/03/2019 21:01

47? Yikes, justilou, I'd have taken 15 years off that if asked. Bloody fabulous!

justilou1 · 05/03/2019 21:31

@Fuzzy - aww shucks! (Sun dodger from waaaaaaaaay back!)

dontcallmelen · 05/03/2019 21:37

Soy definitely go back to a more gentle Pilates, the instructor sounds a bit bonkers.
Ella hope you have the all clear & everything is ok💐
Cherries just reiterating what has been said, surgery is so much more than physical it’s the emotional/mental toll that it takes, be kind to yourself, definitely aids recovery💐
Fuzzy that’s basically what dd was diagnosed with at first, so they are making headway at least💐
just beautiful pictures.

Kazplus2 · 05/03/2019 21:40

Do my order arrived. lived the Amie joggers. The halo jumper is nice, my only doubt is that I already have a few black sparkly jumpers so not sure I need another one. The pink/orange ombre top was not for me. It made me look about two sizes bigger than normal. I so wanted to love the Farah dress but it was not a good fit. I ordered a 12 and the top was fine, a little loose but I think the 10 would have been tight across the chest. The problem was the waist, it was so wide and made the dress hang like a sack. Shame tho as a nice pattern etc.

SoyYo · 05/03/2019 21:59

Hi @Kaz thanks for reporting back. The Halo jumper is flattering and for me a keeper (but I don’t own many sparkly jumpers), yes on the ombré T which is why I hesitated a lot to start with but I’m glad I’ve kept in the end. The Amies everyone loves and you’ll get tons of wear.
Now the dress style I have tried previous seasons versions and totally agree you have to be a specific body shape to suit that style, it’s never worked on me either unfortunately...but that’s what Hush is like you have to try and try and every now and then you get a parcel and everything is fab or totally meh.
Hope they turnaround your refund fast.

@melen how was dgd’s birthday? Did she like her dolls house? (As if Grin) you must be shattered after all the celebrations
