Laska feeling a lot better, not wanting to eat much still though which is worrying me a bit, as between the nasty chest infection & this bug I have lost about six pounds (not a stealth boast) which I can ill afford really & am looking decidedly dreadful as it’s always my face it goes from first.

GinandGingerBeer · 06/02/2019 20:39

Just popping on to post quick pics (bad ones, I cannot take mirror pics without making myself look 3ft tall!)
Love the Petra skirt, gorgeous material & definitely look better as a summer one with a red or white T and sandals. It's not as long as it looks in my pic.
Jeans are fab too for £18 but sadly too small with no 'give' 12's currently OOS.

I'm wearing a Tara dress while trying on, hence the bunched up tyre
It was that or just my bra and better all round that I kept the dress on! Grin

wearenotacodfish · 06/02/2019 20:44

Gin I love that skirt, that will be amazing in the summer.

SoyYo · 06/02/2019 20:45

See...I go away for a couple of hours and there’s a whole new thread to catch up with! Grin

@laska glad to read you’ve been befriended again by Hush...how dare they! Our own Meryl y tonsofHush laska!Shock
So yes slightly panicked here! Boss kept me working as he is panicking I’m away for 7 working days and calling me from São Paulo airport of all bloody places wanting this and that at the last minute (he’s a good bloke actually so I didn’t mind too much) . We’re leaving at 6am for airport and nothing packed yet but that doesn’t worry me as I live in and out of hand luggage and yes I’m sure I can accommodate a laska in if she squeezes a bit Wink
I’m actually super relieved: DH who is my hero and superman had moved DS home from Brighton home today. I can go away in peace knowing he’s safe at home and Big Bro and his girlfriend who also arrived today are here to keep him company.
My heart is sooo relieved.
Ah yes the leopard I got a 14 from Boden and roomy with a jumper underneath.

@melen and everyone else who commented on curls and the universe: Thank You truly!
You’ve no idea what a lifeline this thread is on good but most importantly hard times.
Love to you All I’ll be in touch from sunny Spain again in the next days 😎

dontcallmelen · 06/02/2019 20:45

Gin skirt is so pretty on you, shame about the jeans, on a completely different tangent I love your wardrobe am currently searching for something very similar for the spare bedroom.

dontcallmelen · 06/02/2019 20:47

Aww Soy have a truly wonderful time, sooo glad that you can go away with your heart at ease & Ds at home safe n sound, enjoy my lovely 😘

SoyYo · 06/02/2019 20:48

Ooh have just seen your pics @gin
You look amazing (why are you on a diet?) love the skirt: fabulous shape and the jeans too.
Looking great!
Hasta pronto! 👋👋👋

SoyYo · 06/02/2019 20:50

Bless you melen take good care you too xx

Laska2Meryls · 06/02/2019 21:32

soy emailed you , .. got your OOO so you may not pick it up, but have great time x

Ellapaella · 06/02/2019 21:35

@GinandGingerBeer that skirt looks amazing on you

NotAnActualSheep · 06/02/2019 21:50

Goodness - I go away for an afternoon, and come back from breaking myself at Pilates (ouch.. ) and there's a couple of pages of new thread! Thanks never! I'm shuffling in to take my place on len's fairy-light decked, cushioned bench...

Gin- that skirt does look lovely. Will be brilliant in the summer. But shame about the jeans.

Laska- can't believe they've forgotten you!!! How peculiar. Doesn't bode well for their systems....but at least they've found you again, and given you back your friends delivery. Though, if you've been "disappeared" does it now mean you're a new customer and one of us can recommend hush to you for £20?! I think your plans for the cactus shirt sound ideal...just right for those kind of events! And glad the Ryder jumper was a hit...

Ella- I love those cords on you (from the last thread!). They really suit you, and I think they work really well as you have styled them in the photos with jumpers and DMs. Lol @ channelling your dad! I know what you mean. Mine has some brown cords (and a fleece) and they look not dissimilar to my new green toast ones! But I care not, because they are soft and cosy and generally lovely Smile (DF is too, but I'm not talking about him).

Now I mention it, I should take some photos of the toast haul...(my last for a while Sad) but it's too dark now. Will try in the morning.

fuzzy- your up-cycled table sounds lovely. So many talented people on this thread with furniture! Sorry you're feeling grotty about yourself, though Sad And also len- sorry to hear you're still under the weather.

cherries and soy- happy belated birthday both! Can't believe your trip away has come round so soon soy...hope you have a lovely time, and at least you now know DS is being well looked after!

GinandGingerBeer · 06/02/2019 21:51

Thank you for the lovely compliments Blush
The skirt has a dropped waist so it kinda flattens the stomach a bit. I've managed to lose 5lbs and do feel better for it, would just like to lose another 3 or 4lb which from past experience is ridiculously hard as my body seems to rebel against this idea no matter what I do!
The wardrobes may look nice @len but they are pretty useless as they fit bugger all in and you can't see anything inside them Grin I've got two of them and one of them will only fit hangers in at an angle 🤷🏻‍♀️
Great for a spare room, not so great for a shopping addict like me Smile

NotAnActualSheep · 06/02/2019 22:02

Oh yes, Gin- I know the kind of wardrobe you mean! We have one of them that only fit hangers in at an angle...probably for all the tiny early 20th century ladies with their miniscule little shoulders and teeny coat hangers... (we resorted to hanging adult clothes on hangers that come with DSs clothes). And there are ends of the rail that you can't get to cos they are hidden behind all the slanty clothes. It is absolutely beautiful though, with marquetry on either side of the mirror, and cost about £50 from a charity shop. And caused our removal men no end of swearing when they moved it out of our 3rd floor flat into the first floor of our current house...

miffy2 · 06/02/2019 22:06

I asked them last year why I was not a friend (back when I was ordering every seven days or so ;) and they said they were 'revising the programme' or some such nonsense. Over a year later and the friends thing is still in place and I am still not one.
Having said that I live in Ireland and the super speedy delivery probably would not mean very much, it would still take the guts of a week to get to me.

I am not ordering anything riiiiight now, hopefully the bits I want will still be in stock in a week or two!

miffy2 · 06/02/2019 22:06

By last year I of course meant in 2017...it is February and I still think we are in 2018!

miffy2 · 06/02/2019 23:01

@Laska, no Whistles dresses for me, sadly, but two from Zara! Usually their dresses elude me as they are primarily for those flat of chest but I swallowed my pride and bought them in L and XL respectively.

whiskyremorse · 07/02/2019 08:19

I had a quick look at the new stock in John Lewis today and was surprised how much I liked the sequin 'love saves the day' jumper, it is so soft. Shame there isn't a plain version. Also drawn to the Elspeth ruffle dress which looks and feels really lovely. Tempted for a wedding I am going to in August. Hmm

grannycake · 07/02/2019 09:25

I had a massive spend on new stuff yesterday but much of it was basics such as slub Tees, denim shorts, camisoles and white trainers. All of those were fine if a little dull (but they will be worn and worn). I did also buy the jersey scoop dress which is lovely and I think will become the summer version of the Ivy dress for me. The Ivy itself is a little short without tights. I also bought and love the pink linen top with the contrast trim which was also fab. Oh and a Santana skirt in black (I'm late to the party on this but I think I will wear it a lot

Laska2Meryls · 07/02/2019 10:42

I have also celebrated regaining my Hush friends so have ordered the green Lucky T , the plain denim shorts ( not paying extra for the star ones as the are only printed) , the essential cami in Aster( as i like the look of it with the Santana I have already ordered in the same colour) , and the Liesel skirt , which was in the sale.. .if its good ill probably shorten it for summer holiday wear .. I cant see me buying any more summer dresses and ill no longer be working much! and i have lots for holidays .. (only exception will be if they do the Greek widow type again this year in something interesting.. )..

I must sell that green Marissa dress from last year though

Laska2Meryls · 07/02/2019 11:04

this is the skirt I meant good price (although the Vienna wrap navy one is even better at 15 - sadly not my size)

dontcallmelen · 07/02/2019 11:08

Nice hauls Granny & Laska pretty skirt as well.

grannycake · 07/02/2019 11:36

I got the Vienna skirt in the sale. I think it will be good in the summer - planning on taking motor home to Provence if bloody Brexit doesn't bugger it up.

Laska2Meryls · 07/02/2019 11:55

Actually I have also just ordered the Vienna skirt for a look-see , its lovely fabric I would want to shorten it anyway so could probably alter that to fit if its a bit snug on the waist i think .. for 15 it would be worth it.

grannycake motorhome Envy we are planning on buying one soon ,(but it might not be this year) .

twosoups1972 · 07/02/2019 11:59

Can't believe we already have a new thread! It seems like 5 minutes since the last one was started!

Anyway thank you for the lovely comments on the red dress, I agree it's a nice shape on me, I just thought it was a bit thicker. However I'm going to keep it, great price and I'm sure I'll wear it. Def keeping the Jigsaw velvet skirt, too nice to send back!

gin that skirt is beautiful on you Smile Swishy and elegant. And I like your bedroom too, love the colour on the walls misses point

laska I can't believe Hush have forgotten you! How rude!

melen that sounds horrendous, it's horrible being ill and for so long. Hope you start feeling better now.
