Had a good look at the new collection now. I love the turquoise colours of some of the new sweaters and knitwear.
Like the Santana skirt in blue but unfortunately that shade of blue doesn't do anything for my skin tone. I love the black marina and will probably get one.
Also love:
Casper denim jacket - definitely on my wish list
The Liliam dress - think this will be good for my Rome trip
The floral folk dress - very nice although personally I do not like that big heavy black belt with it.
Girlfriend chinos in black - also a good staple for spring/summer and again will be perfect for strolling around Rome.
I never really look at shoes as the Hush ones are always way out of my price range unfortunately. Still lusting after a Fifi bag as well.

My op is scheduled for 26th feb so am keeping fingers crossed all goes to plan as this will mean that I can still go to Rome at the end of April.

Ella glad you have a date, if I can offer any help or reassurance please feel free to ask 💐
I like a lot of the new colours as well, especially the turquoise, lemon & minty greens.

grannycake · 07/02/2019 12:41

laska. We had a 20 yr old motorhome and were planning on upgrading when we retired (in 3 years) but I have lost a few friends this year and we decided life was too short and though we can't go away for months at a time we would get enough use to make it worthwhile so we bought an ex display model.
If you're going to get one I'd advise hiring one first then you'll know what features annoy you and what you must have. Unless you have an unlimited budget there will always be a compromise.
Anyway I could talk motor homes all day but this is not the thread for them. Hope you get one soon and enjoy it - we love ours and it's great for taking GC out for day and being able to feed them and escape from wind and rain (in Wales so plenty of that)
I forgot I also bought the black boyfriend chinos and they're great - really soft. Perfect for Rome Ella

dontcallmelen · 07/02/2019 12:51

Soups thanks, glad you are keeping the the red dress it suit sounds you.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/02/2019 12:54

@Ella - Glad you got your date and you have your holiday to look forward too. I dont have any experiences of operations but if you need someone to chat too you know we are here for you xx

Well you know the gorgeous check coat that i got recently [cropped check coat] from hush well the button was falling off and they read my review and have offered me £10 goodwill gesture for the trouble. I am so pleased :) Did not expect that.

never ooh just goes to show it is worth leaving a review, meant to say the coat looked lovely on you.
Thanks am definitely feeling better today, at last.

ilovecherries · 07/02/2019 13:36

I’m glad you have a timescale now for moving forward, Ella, and something lovely to look forward to once you are better.

dontcallmelen · 07/02/2019 13:39

Just wanted to share pics of my hall which thankfully I finished before I was unwell, the box in the lobby for shoes I found in a charity shop was only a couple of pounds I’m thinking of painting a table in the same colour that I have on the upstairs landing, still a bit unsure of the colour any thoughts? Not great light today but the walls are a mushroomy/grey.

Len I love that floor!
never bonus with the coat, Emilia Fox's character was wearing a very similar style jacket in this weeks silent witness, I always have wardrobe envy when I watch that programme.

Thanks everybody for your well wishes. I'm trying not to think too much about it and just accept it's got to be done. Not going to think too much about potential complications etc as ultimately I have no choice but to go ahead with it anyway. I'm sure it'll all be fine and I know I'm in the best hands.

Ellapaella · 07/02/2019 14:05

Len pale pink for the box?

dontcallmelen · 07/02/2019 14:11

Ella thank you, yep I think that the best attitude & definitely don’t think about complications etc as I’m sure you know every procedure carries some sort of risk & having confidence in those that are caring for you is I think just as important as having the treatment.

neveradullmoment99 · 07/02/2019 15:52

I think I would paint the box a creamy colour tbh. Love neutrals.

FuzzyPuffling · 07/02/2019 16:44

I'll post a table pic when my evil tablet has decided to release the photo for publication! Might even manage before and afters!

Clothes-wise, I can't wait for the weather to get warmer. I am officially fed up with wearing fleeces and joggers and want to get my pretty things out again. Or even shorts...I have some fetching floral ones! (I have boxes of summer clothes lurking under my bed.)

FuzzyPuffling · 07/02/2019 16:45

len lovely hall! I would paint the box in muted shade of the colours in the curtain, so blue and yellow, but possibly mustard/ochre and greyish blue.

FuzzyPuffling · 07/02/2019 16:46

Oh, and I'd put a cushion on the top so people can sit on it to put their shoes on. (Or it is just me that finds that helpful?!)

dontcallmelen · 07/02/2019 17:02

Thanks everyone, it’s currently a sort of ochre colour, Dh is making little comments about my current pink phase, so think pink is out cream would work, Fuzzy yes a cushion would be good i creak a lot when I bend down, look forward to you unveiling your publication yy fed up with winter clothing, I have lots of shorts that I bought for bargainous price from boden at the end of last summer, so never got to wear them.

NotAnActualSheep · 07/02/2019 17:42

Ooooh len - I know nothing about decor/ colours, but your hallway is amazing! Are those tiles new, or have they been there since the house was built? They make the hall look so light and fresh. I think I'd probably go with a pale cream/grey for the box - or maybe match one of the colours in the tiles, or the curtain behind the door??

I wish you hadn't pointed out the scoop neck dress grannycake - that looks really nice for summer -though quite a long time til then, to be honest...I'm sure I'll still have a chance to try later on. Please let us know how you get on with it...its difficult to tell how long it would be and how high the slits would be on a "normal" person. (I DO NOT show my bare thighs under any circumstances...). And I do love those two skirts laska - and your other summer stuff sounds really useful and that it will fit in with other things you have. V sensible!

ella - as others have said, I'm glad you have a date, especially as that should give you time to recover afterwards for Rome. How exciting! The chinos will be great for that (though I found Italy in early May was verging on too hot for me and was in sundresses constantly! Others are better at Hot than I am though...I go into a sweaty mess as soon as it gets above about 25 degrees lucky I live I Scotland then, really ).

I really like the blues and mint/ aqua colours too, and I love the yellows too, but can't wear them. I really need to stop looking at the collection tbh, as it is definitely growing on me. There are some white trainers with rainbow stripes that are calling me - but I am resisting...

never - wow, that is really good of hush to offer that...their customer service may be looking up. its the kind of thing that basically costs them nothing (on the assumption that you would have to buy something to use it) but makes for a lot of goodwill. Not as good as free PJ's, though Grin. I agree that that bag is really nice. See - I need to stop looking, now...

grannycake · 07/02/2019 17:52

not. I am barely five foot so it comes to about an inch or two above my ankles and the split starts below my knee and finishes around my knee. I love my Ivy dresses but only with tights so too warm in Summer but I think this will be fine. Plan on wearing with silver birdies and a lovely turquoise necklace a friend bought me some time ago

grannycake · 07/02/2019 17:53

Birkies not birdies FFS

NotAnActualSheep · 07/02/2019 18:24

Thanks grannycake - yes, I love the ivy too, but definitely only over leggings/ tights! The scoop neck sounds great for you, though - and I like the way you will style it. I love metallic shoes birds !

whiskyremorse · 07/02/2019 19:28

Len love the floor tiles!

dontcallmelen · 07/02/2019 19:38

Not unfortunately not original, we put them down about four years ago, they are from Topps Tiles.
I have seen some white stripey trainers just recently, I think they were either M&S or Next, another one who loves metallic shoes here as well (any shoes really😳)

GinandGingerBeer · 07/02/2019 20:45

@len our hallway is like yours but the opposite way round, including the curved wall going round. Our floor needs re-doing really, it's stripped floors but was done before we moved in and it needs some TLC. I took a big chance and painted it in a dark teal which was a huge risk as it's a dark hall Shock but I have to say I love it. Stairs are still threadbare and I need to find a plain ish runner.
As ever with an old house, there are other jobs that need doing before we can finish the carpeting, as it's all old plaster and the dust gets everywhere.
Never ending!
