No SOTD for me - baby was admitted to hospital last night with pneumonia so I haven't been home. Will head home and shower later and put on some 4160 rhubarb and citrus which should cut through the hospital grim-ness nicely.

Oh dear Lots. There are so many bugs around at the moment. Hope your baby gets well soon. Try and look after yourself as best you can. A refreshing perfume sounds good. Hospitals are such hot fusty spaces.

Staying with still very decent reformulations of all time greats, SotD is Or Black. Fragrantica list as an oriental fougere, but it is a bit of a classification buster. Wonderfully aromatic and intruigingly multi-faceted. If you see a bottle in TK Maxx, run to the till with it.

Hope Babypots recovers quickly. Top tips: Take lots of healthy snacks (for you), although if you are BFing they should feed you. Ask about a parent kitchen and showering facilities. When I was in with DS DH would take in home cooked food that I could store in the fridge in the parent kitchen then microwave for a taste of home. Made all the difference.

Oh, and you don't have much storage space so just have enough for 24h and sent stuff home/get new stuff in every day.

Don't blind buy.
Definitely don't blind buy from a house that, much as you love it, can be frustratingly inconsistent.

Tyger Tyger arrived, and it's a scrubber

The website describes it as 'a blend of spices, black tea, jasmine, waxy citrus fruits and leather'. Sounds pretty great, right?

In reality, it opens with the scent of a heavily-possetted muslin, and simply gets more boring from there.

Also I think it's in the vein of Sexiest Scent and Midnight in the Palace Garden, both of which I know have huuuuuge fans here and I just don't get at all.

SOTD is my daighter's new mini perfume from Next called Paradise which comes in the cutest packaging and was £4. It is very fresh and fruity (I can smell apple, rose and some musk), it is very young so not really for me but as far as young scents go this is ok.
