Have I made a terrible mistake going blonde? (With pics)

Just went from brown-ish to blonde a few days ago and I am really not sure I like it!! I am seriously considering to go back to the hairdresser and dye it darker again.

Mumsnetters, please give me your honest opinion! Should I stay blonde or go back to brown?

PS: I am terribly un-photogenic, so please forgive the odd facial expression in both images

I prefer the blonde, however
Thats not to say the dark looks bad. Its just that the blonde has more character.

Prefer the brunette as it makes your eyes look fabulous.

It looks great in both shades! What I will say is you look entirely different in each photo.

Usually don’t like the blonde hair & brown eyes combination - think Ellie Goulding - but it works in your case.

Ellie Goulding is really dark haired, of course.

You have two completely different looks going on. Blonde you have red lipstick on, and the brown is more of an edgy, rock chick look. My preference is the brunette, but that’s because I prefer that look. The blonde still looks lovely on you.

UPDATE

After using a purple shampoo for a week, as some PPs suggested here, I am much more pleased with the blonde result and I think I will keep it for a while. The yellow undertones are gone and it now looks more natural.

Both look good. Personally prefer the brown colour as you look cooler. I was going to suggest what you've already done/decided. Add ashier/cool tones and live with it for a bit. It'll be easy to grow out if you change your mind and it's so nice that there's no need to faff about covering it up with more colour.

I thought you looked great as a blonde, then I saw you as a brunette and think this looked great also.

Since you make a great blonde, why not stick with it and enjoy for the time being?

The blonde is nice, but it makes you look a little washed out. Brunette looks better on you, but it is nice to have a change every now and then.

On preview, where I only saw the first photo, I thought it was an image of a model. Blonde all the way (coming from an brunette who has never considered gong blonde...until I saw this post 😁)
