Have I made a terrible mistake going blonde? (With pics)

Just went from brown-ish to blonde a few days ago and I am really not sure I like it!! I am seriously considering to go back to the hairdresser and dye it darker again.

Mumsnetters, please give me your honest opinion! Should I stay blonde or go back to brown?

PS: I am terribly un-photogenic, so please forgive the odd facial expression in both images

I think too many women go blonde when it doesn't really suit them.

. I think you might suffering from blonde adjustment shock - not a thing, just my description of what happened to me ! I had very dark hair, it started going grey very unevenly and my hairdresser used to do a very natural looking blend in for years. At one point, we decided to go blending to light rather than dark, with highlights and lowlights, until now it is a mid blonde. The first time it was truly blonde around my face was a bit of a shock - I looked like me but not me, iyswim. I realised my makeup had to change a bit and some of my clothing colour preferences looked ‘off ‘ as well.

You have made a much more sudden ( though very natural looking ) change and your brain is still going ‘ it’s me I’m looking at/ it’s not me I’m looking at’/who’s the blonde ? ‘

However as someone who was brown haired for 30y and then blonde for 15y I would say might need to experiment with make up a bit eg go for a dept store trial and see what someone who didn't know you as a brunette would use. I found this really useful
