Following on from the general royal style thread, which is fast filling up, here's one just to discuss today's outfits.

My predictions

I’m really hoping Fergie will look fabulous - <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/Ex3BbE" target="_blank">teal or <a class="break-all" href="http://go.mumsnet.com/?xs=1&id=470X1554755&url=goo.gl/images/oiAQaV" target="_blank">forest green look good on her.

After Kate's recent trip to the V&A, I’m hoping for something a bit more adventurous than a pale blue or yellow coat dress. Sophie in blue or pink Wickstead, Meghan in navy and/or boat-neck. She and Victoria Beckham may end up in similar outfits.

The Queen in fuchsia, neon green or yellow, Ladies Sarah and Helen in something elegant and understated, Karen Spencer in a dress that’s spectacular but so tight she can’t breathe.

And of course Princess Anne in a dress she's owned since 1986 that still fits her perfectly!

TBH I would've been less surprised to see the Beckhams there than Demi Moore!

whilst people can accept royalty and their privilege if they can pigeon hole them as 'a different breed', they can't accept a regular person becoming royal as it highlights that 'it could have been them or theirs but it wasn't'.

I think you're absolutely right solly.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 12/10/2018 12:45

Lord Snowdon, (David Linley, 2nd Earl Snowdon) was there. He walked in behind Zara & Mike and Autumn & Peter

Whisky2014 · 12/10/2018 12:45

Just read the quote from Andrew about the FOB speech.
I haven't been the father of a bride so I don't know what to expect, but I'm looking forward to it. I don't write speeches, so why should I write this one.

What the hell?!

lalalalyra · 12/10/2018 12:47

Ah, just seen some footage of Michaels of Kent and Princess Alexandra, so they were there too.

They said this morning Princess Alexandra wasn't going to be there as she had a fall and broke her arm.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:47

Maybe Andrew meant that he prefers to speak off the cuff rather than read off a piece of paper? Surely he didn't mean that he just gets someone else to??

When is Pippa due to give birth. She seems to have been pregnant for years.

Whisky2014 · 12/10/2018 12:50

Hopefully but im not so sure!

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:50

@lalalalyra In that case I don't know who the woman was, but she bore a strong resemblance to Princess A!

*Meghans coat was too tight under the arms and across the bust.

And poor Louise. I hope she’s ok.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:51

I thought Pippa was due this month? She's been writing about her pregnancy for Waitrose magazine, apparently.

Rosina, snap! I get really fed up when I have to go to a wedding, but LOVE a royal wedding.

Grin Royal weddings just have more to offer. The royals themselves, celebs, fashion, fanfares, curtseys, carriages...plus we can watch it all from the comfort of our sofas and don't have to charge round Debenhams looking for fascinators.

ChicagoLil · 12/10/2018 12:54

I bet Camilla is sozzled on Highland Park by now.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:54

I quite liked the green of Pippa's dress. James Middleton certainly has a Tsar Nicholass II/George V thing going on, hasn't he?

Onecutefox · 12/10/2018 12:55

Didn't know that Jack and Eugenie are third cousins like the Queen and Prince Philip.

Onecutefox · 12/10/2018 12:56

James Middleton certainly has a Tsar Nicholass II/George
Hollywood is crying for him.

QueenOfTheAndals · 12/10/2018 12:56

The woman with the peacock feather hat was Poppy Delavigne (Cara's sister) and her dress is... interesting.

Did anyone spot the bobble hat? Who was that?!

Madbengalmum · 12/10/2018 12:57

Just seen the pictures, and thought the bride looked fabulous and nice to see a royal wedding dress this year that looks like it fits.
Thought Naomi Cambell in Chanel looked amazing
Thought Pippa looked hideous
Thought Robbies wife looked like she borrowed something from a charity shop
Thought Holly valance looked good too.

Sammysquiz · 12/10/2018 12:57

To be fair to Andrew he did say this in quite a jokey way, so think it was a bit tongue in cheek.

Though my brother used to work for the Royal family in quite a senior role, and can confirm that Andrew is very very hard work indeed.

ChicagoLil · 12/10/2018 13:00

I'm now at the Hairdressers. "Did you watch the wedding this morning?" "What wedding was that?" "The Royal wedding!" "I didn't know there was one Confused"

SillySallySingsSongs · 12/10/2018 13:01

I know people who have said the same.

Onecutefox · 12/10/2018 13:01

Interesting picture

Princess Eugenie's wedding: The sartorial highs and lows. Plus Fergie's back, bitches!
kenandbarbie · 12/10/2018 13:02

I thought Naomi I Campbell looked awful and Pippa looked gorgeous!!! Opposite of what someone else said!!

DCIVivDeering · 12/10/2018 13:02

I liked Pippa's dress. Pippa at Louis' christening was awful!

Didn't Elton John cancel some of his tour to get to Harry's wedding? So bit of a snub there, though obviously there's more connection with Harry than Eugenie.

Also surprised the Clooneys weren't there! Amal loves an opportunity to get a designer frock on Though maybe George isn't actually all that involved with the tequila brand, he just owns it.
