@Skimbleskanks I am size 10 and wear small aimes. I like them relaxed. I've not tried on the extra smalls as they've not had any in my local JLso I don't know how much smaller they are.

dontcallmelen · 17/09/2018 19:59

Laska it’s very easy to get into comfort buying, it’s a brilliant distraction from Rl problems, good that you have taken stock & sent some stuff back, if you really can’t see yourself wearing or suiting your lifestyle, I’m trying very hard to get into the same mindset. I have a wardrobe full of stuff that I don’t really wear & it’s madness keep adding to it.
I Also have other issues going on that I need to address, dd ongoing health problems & a lot of day to day care of dgd which is bloomin exhausting.

DavetheCat2001 · 17/09/2018 20:07

Laska I am 100% guilty of comfort buying too, especially when my mood dips. Then I get buyers remorse which just makes me feel worse!

I impulse ordered the leopard Hoxton boots from Boden over the weekend..I have about 8 pairs of boots already, I really don't need them but they look so good and I could imagine wearing them with lots of stuff..blah..blah.

I need to wind my neck in thoughts I am seriously overdrawn..sigh.

@Laska, the holes can also be caused by a belt if you wear one. I remember a style and beauty thread about exactly that.
Good for you returning. I ordered the tansy dress and wore it to work today with black leggings and my ankle boots. I felt good in it. The only thing was to be mindful bending as it is pretty short!!! Have decided to return the skirt to hush as I find it a bit 'per una' No offence if you like that collection but its just not me. Also the zebra dress, I really love it but am between sizes. Still considering what to do....

neveradullmoment99 · 17/09/2018 20:12

@Dave - I also spend when in a low mood and then get buyers remorse. Its a bit rubbish isn't it?
On a plus Dave, looking forward to seeing your boots!
Did you keep that hush dress - the burgundy one?

dontcallmelen · 17/09/2018 20:12

Dave yy I am so guilty of this when mood dips, I think it must be something to do with serotonin levels & buyers remorse is such a mood downer as well, bloody complicated isn’t dealing with life sometimes I seriously feel like running away at the moment.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/09/2018 20:14

I have to say that I live in boots and wear them to death so rarely are they a waste.

neveradullmoment99 · 17/09/2018 20:18

Oh and got a response from Hush. Ive to return my zebra skirt for the garment technologists to look at Hmm They offered to check the hem of the floral one [ I said I had been interested in purchasing but not now] However it is clear from the website that it is unhemmed.

dontcallmelen · 17/09/2018 20:18

Laska those Clark’s boots are really nice, I went & tried them on especially like the grey, but they looked a bit to ‘heavy’ on me I’m after a lace up or buckles that I can tighten but with a neat look, not sure they actually exist apart from ones that cost £££.

dontcallmelen · 17/09/2018 20:20

Garment technologist my bum, probably Fred in packing.

Brummiegirl15 · 17/09/2018 20:29

Dave - I'm exactly the same, I'm most definitely a comfort shopper. I believe this item will be the one to make me look / feel fabulous.

The feeling never lasts though....

DavetheCat2001 · 17/09/2018 21:04

@neveradullmoment - yes I did keep the burgundy dress. I was thinking the leopard boots would go well with it as it's so plain, so a statement pair of boots would lift it.

Seems a lot of us use shopping the same way, and Brummie I always think that every item will be the one to make everything better.

@neveradullmoment99 it doesn't really take a 'garment technologist' to tell you that clothing needs hemming! Honestly, sounds like any excuse to wriggle out of a refund! I hope you get it sorted...
@DavetheCat2001 I'm guilty of thinking a purchase will solve all my fashion woes.. Then it arrives and almost immediately I start thinking about the next thing I want/need. But.. Those boots are gorgeous and actually shoes, boots and coats are always a good investment as they are the thing that pulls an outfit together. Please post some pics when they arrive.

Ellapaella · 17/09/2018 21:31
