Just as an aside:- What perfume comes in a sealed bottle and you have to attach the spray mechanism yourself?

Judydreamsofhorses · 25/07/2018 22:39

SOTD Chanel 19,for a trip to Nando’s. All the class.

CountFosco · 25/07/2018 22:51

The Frangrance Shop has Pharrell Williams Girl on sale for £19.50/100ml. I know there are a few fans here so thought I should let y'all know.

SotD ckOne then SotE Girl (obv).

SOTN was Miller Harris Fleurs de Sel. I smell like a salty mud-flat, but it’s strangely compelling!

It is isn't it. So chuffed I got a FB in TKMaxx, I had proper shakey excitement when I saw it! Copes well with the heat as well.

Serge Lutens any others? (that have a removable pump)

MsJacksonIfUrNasty · 25/07/2018 23:36

Pretty unlikely, but Mugler Angel Etoile des Reeves has a removable Ono and atomiser/puff thingy mejiggy.

(Side note: I hated the perfume and the bottle, and gave it to my sister) Grin.

Pest - Le Couvent des Minimes?

MsJacksonIfUrNasty · 25/07/2018 23:37

Ono =spray pump

God I need new glasses

MsJacksonIfUrNasty · 25/07/2018 23:38

I wore Coco Mademouselle today. That’s how bored I currently feel with my perfume.

MrsLucas · 25/07/2018 23:39

Why do you ask Pest?

Calmanddance · 25/07/2018 23:42

Pest, Cologne of the Missions (Le Couvent des Minimes), 250 ml size, has a removable spray. It’s slightly annoying that the box isn’t big enough to hold the bottle with the spray attached so the box top is permanently open.

Calmanddance · 25/07/2018 23:44

Cross-post with MrsLucas!

PestymcPestFace · 25/07/2018 23:48

You might not want to know MrsL. The ancient MJ Splashes, Lutens and Le Couvent des Minimes are all too tall. There are a couple of Aliens that may fit the bill.

Calmanddance · 25/07/2018 23:59

SmurfyGurly on YouTube has reviewed a perfume with a removable spray. I can’t remember which one it was, just that it was expensive! She didn’t like the mechanism because it seemed to waste perfume every time she used it. The bottle wasn’t tall. I’ll see if I can find the review tomorrow. Unless an expensive one is no good for your purpose, Pest?

CountFosco · 26/07/2018 05:44

ckOne has tge option of either a screw top or a screw on sprayer, I'd guess because it marketed itself as being unisex in in the 90s they wanted to give people the option to either spray it or splash it. It's going to be one of the cheaper options.

Confession....I succumbed and bought 4160 rhubarb and citrus. Omg I am in love and it lasts all day!!!!

Gahbahboo · 26/07/2018 10:13

I don't often post here but do lurk...
Just wanted to add that Shay & Blue Blood Oranges works well in this heat. Very delicate but refreshing!

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 26/07/2018 11:49

I must confess I love the vintage perfume bottles with a bulb/cushion type atomiser (there must be a word for those and I'm sure someone here will know it Grin), especially if they are part of a matchy dressing table set but I don't think it's very good for perfumes to be decanted into them really. I do have a vintage Chanel atomiser you click bottles into but obviously only works with Chanel not that helpful

Onenight I absolutely love Florentyna, my mum buys me a bottle every Christmas! I love the M & S magnolia/honeysuckle type stuff and use the mini shower gels that my mum also gets me for the gym showers.

Yes this heat is definitely challenging perfume choices, I'm torn between clean soapy scents (adore Perfume Parlour Prada Iris atm) or ubiquitous sunny/skin scent types, I've actually been reaching for Avon Tahitian Holiday a lot this week. It doesn't feel as "obvious" as the TF Soleil/Bronze Goddess types and is about ten times cheaper. I feel like I need to investigate more "Mediterranean" scents, the Amalfi one someone recommended sounds gorgeous but I'm on a total perfume buying ban due to finances

In happier news, DH smells amazing atm^^ Grin as he has been showering twice a day and is using a fabulous bar soap from TK Maxx. Unfortunately the brand has been washed off so I can't share this wonderful scent again, not helpful but I can imagine people following him down the road in the style of the Lynx adverts GrinI shall have to go to TKM and see if I can identify it.

socraties1234 · 26/07/2018 12:09

hi waiting for my tendre poison which I ordered from perfume parlour on monday

Calmanddance · 26/07/2018 14:39

Pest, I’ve found the review. It was for Guerlain La Plus Beau Jour de Ma Vie. Here it is: SmurfyGurly’s Guerlain Bulb rant. Definitely a screw top bottle. The review is about 11 minutes in.

BarbaraCartlandsFloofyCat · 26/07/2018 14:53

Gah I forgot the point of my post which was 20% off The Fragrance Shop online today with code PREVIEW20...

OutComeTheWolves · 26/07/2018 15:06

@Gahbahboo I've been using shay and blue blood oranges atm too. I've found quite fresh and not too overpowering in the heat.

UnnecessaryFennel · 26/07/2018 17:07

Premier Figuier this morning, and plenty of it. It lasted ok in the ridiculous pit of burning hellfire that is central London today. Came home and went for LoF Gin & Tonic just as a spritz.

Off up to the Northumberland coast tomorrow for a few days. Must admit, even as a sun-worshipper, I am quite looking forward to a bit of rain!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/07/2018 17:25

does anyone know if Yardley Jade has been discontinued? i havent seen it anywhere i normally used to see it

SOTD was raw silk & red roses. it was nice but the heat meant it just didn't last like ti does in cooler weather. now looking for something else to put on but just can't decide, my brain is as frazzled as my hair is frizzy!!
