I bought the Mary greenwell Plum today
100 ml for £14-50

Dowser · 19/09/2018 23:41

There appears to be one more Plum left and one 50ml lemon

BookMeOnTheSudExpress · 20/09/2018 07:02

I tested PP No Malone Lime Basil Mandarin (don't know right order, cba to look) against Superdrug Bloom Mandarin, Lime Basil. (that is right order Grin) last night. The PP is a bit sweeter and not as long lasting.

Obviously still streets ahead of the very average original! I don't know if Superdrug still have the range- I got mine for £4.99 in the post Christmas sales. Well worth it though.

Pierre Guillaume Aomassai today, picked at random from the PG samples box. Salted caramel, nuts, resins, aniseed, vetiver. Starts off sweet and smoky, gets sharper, more balsamic and more traditionally 'masculine' in the dry-down, but still rather lovely. I will wear this again.

teta · 20/09/2018 09:30

Anythingbutmagnolia I have a couple of older bottles. The perfume is really long lasting - all day yeaterday. Funnily enough I rediscovered it by falling in love with a Pure Distance Antonia and discovered Safari was a dupe. Or was it the other way arround?

teta · 20/09/2018 09:34

My spelling ?!?
Sotd is Tobacco Rose for the first time in months. This is both pure and sexy. I’m desperate to try the new Aftel Ambergris solid perfume as i adore Ambergris in every form. I think I will have to order from overseas. Does anyone have any other Aftel must-try’s?

It was Miss Dior today. Didn't last all day but it was lovely wafting about in such an old favourite.

I never got MG Fire - was it as lovely as everyone says?

Only the book Teta Smile. Great reading, especially if you do a perfume workshop.

Ambergris is something I struggle with at perceptible levels...

SotD Opus 1144. Fragantica says the drydown is very like vintage Shalimar which I've not worn but I prefer it to modern Shalimar. Lots of vanilla (too much for me for a while this morning) and very powdery but it takes its time opening (it's an extrait). I loved the opening but didn't get as much lime as some people seem to, just lots of amber and spice and heavenly scents and almost 12 hours after it's still gorgeous. Really classy juice. But at £186 for a FB all it's doing is persuading me that a Bloom Nose subscription would be a really excellent idea that would practically save me money!

SOTD Rive Gauche.

MrsLucas · 20/09/2018 22:45

Dug out Safari tonight - not at all as I remembered. Smells of galbanum and lemon grass.

Early start today. SOTD is Next Urban Elements Marble, which is a leeeetle bit like Creed Aventus with the Creediness taken away (and £15 instead of £250).

Hello Blah - try Si Le Parfum. Great grown up balsamic vanilla. If you go to Feel Unique/samples/picknmix/fragrance you choose 5 samples, delivered, including Si Le Parfum, for £3.95. Mine arrived today - it's very good.

UnnecessaryFennel · 21/09/2018 19:17

Blah - I also love a good grown-up vanilla.

I am very fond of Memoirs of a Trespasser by Imaginary Authors (boozy, smoky vanilla), Felanilla by Parfumerie Generale (amber vanilla) and Creamy Vanilla Custard by 4160 Tuesdays (which despite the same is quite a dry, hay-like vanilla)

You could also try the Vanilla pack from Bloom - at £30 for 13 samples it's pretty good value and will give you lots of non-cupcake vanillas to try.

And of course there's always Shalimar...

UnnecessaryFennel · 21/09/2018 19:20

Vanilla Crumble, not Custard Grin

Has anyone tried the lady gaga perfume eau de gaga?
I've just won it for £3 on eBay. I never really go for celebrity scents but fragrantica described it as having lime and leather notes so I'm pretty intrigued!
